You can eliminate canbus errors by installing a load resistor in parallel with the bulb assuming you can find room, there are also many canbus error free bulbs coming out on the market that have an internal resistor.
The fog lights look great but the head lights have dark spots where you'd expect peak output to be. The focus of the LED lamp in the headlight housings isn't quite correct, resulting in beam performance that isn't ideal. I'd shop around and see if you can find something better for the headlights.
I had the same problem. The LED must be positioned at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions in order for the projector to throw light properly. Remove the bulb, take off the red band and take the small screw out. Raise the collar and you'll see there is a sawtooth pattern to them. Adjust as required.
@@anthonyschiano9144 Unless the bulbs draw enough current or you add wattage, such as a third light as I did in the Rear fog light video, you might want to try the special canbus bulbs. Otherwise, people add resistors.
I've been following your vids and your handy with the fiat 500e. You have any idea of how to recharge the AC in this thing? I don't have any issues with my ac in my fiat 500e thus far. This is for future reference. And I cannot find anything on how to recharge the ac or even fix it.
Have you considered buying error-free LED's, or addind a load resistor? The lights my car uses most are the brake lights because they activate everytime you break. Even more than my headlights because I'm constantly trying to use the RBS. I'm looking into some for my 500e that won't be too expensive. Tried some regular LED's from O'Reilly's and didn't work. Had same issue as you did. Seeing as how you want that sporty and lightweight feel for the Fiat. Have you thought about replacing the stock seats with lighter racing seats? And also maybe changing tires to better gripier ones? (Maybe idea for another video)
I've heard the error-free bulbs don't always work & if your adding a resistor (a.k.a. heat element) than your not really accomplishing much over the stock halogen heaters. It's just a matter of getting about 15% of original wattage per light string. Maybe that's what makes the "error-free" version. It might be worth a re-visit in a few months. You'll like Modified episode #15. The excellent stock seats are one of the better bits of the car. The white interior has great style in a world of bland black/tan/gray junk. The last thing I'm going to do is mess that up. Tires: mine are practically new. Once, I need some new one's, I'll definitely get something better. Thanks for the comment & many more videos to come.
Not sure how to contact you aside from here, but wondering if you can help troubleshoot my 2013 500e. My info screen tells me the driver's side brake light is out, however the problem is actually with the passenger's side tail light. These are clear dual filament bulbs. I've replaced both with new bulbs and driver's side tail & brake lights both working and passenger's side brake light is working. Passenger side tail light is NOT working. Still getting the same error message on the info screen. I'm using factory bulbs, not LEDs. Any ideas? Thanks
So, even though you've replaced both 1156 bulbs with new OEM wattage bulbs, nothing has changed. I think we can safely assume it's not the bulbs! I would focus on the circuit that's not working, the pass side tail. The power is not getting through that. "Why" is the question. Look at the bulb connector, make sure it's fitting tight. Look at the wire harness, make sure it's tight. Try turning on the lights & wiggling that connector. A previous owner might have put in 50w halogen "upgrade" bulbs that might have fried the wire and burnt it off somewhere (don't ask me how I know... actually it was 55/100w headlight instead of a 45/65w US spec bulb in a different car.) Could even be a rodent chewed it off. In any case, doing an continuity test with a multi-meter starting at one end of the circuit and working your way to the other end, one section at a time should find the open line.
I had the same issue on my 2013. I did change the rear bulbs and realized that the little side light was off too. I did changed it and all the lights came back to live.
Hello. Congratulations on all the work you've done: exceptional. I may have a contact from you, I would like to ask you a few questions about my 500e. Thank you
My estimate is about 1%. More if sitting in traffic when not moving much. I haven't tested the heated seats energy use, yet. My guess is the wattage saved is enough to heat at least one of the seats!
Doubtful, if anything it'd be worse. You need a yellow fog light to disperse the light in fog, a pure white bright light will bounce light back to you just like high beams will. If you want a better fog light, get a golden / yellow LED replacement. If you're going for 'show' and all white, then yeah....go for this..but it won't be as functional as stock.
It definitely uses less watts. I started moding shortly after buying it with the weight reduction. That's the most effective thing for range & performance. I average about 5.5 miles per kWh.

Very Useful Video Thanks 👍🏼
What bulbs did you use for the drl? I’ve heard it’s near impossible to get led ones to work

Hey super cool video! Can you please tell me which brand can us reverse LED did you buy ?
No brand. Just a T15 (W16W equivalent). Purchased on eBay.
Thank you so much does it have to be canbus?

M Navarro you can’t . It’s work like your window AC at home. Do not need recharge

Error free are not reliable indeed, bought some high power DRL leds and they did not work unless i added the resistor. And thats a no go...

Does it help with the range at all?

how about daytime running lights?
That's been covered on episode #7. ciao.
I wish I could convert this car to DC fast charging with ccs combo 😑
Yes, that would be nice, along with updating to the higher capacity cells. Probably a lot cheaper & easier to buy a '17-on eGolf or '17-on i3 BEV.
I hate the back up light on my 500e and I hate the visors.
