While I have some... issues... with certain parts of the show, I am liking it far more than I expected to. And mostly it's because of these two right here - I have been wanting to see them on screen for years now and ;jakfjja Sisi and Kieron are amazing so far. I also love the coloring you used - it is so pretty!
Couldn‘t agree more with you. I actually love the changes that were done because it‘s exciting as a hrdcore fan to not know what happens next. Yet the changes do scare me 😂 But Sisi‘s and Kieron‘s chemistry here is undeniable. They said they gave everything to bring those characters to life and to pass over the spirit of Rose and Dimitri and I think the nail it. They may not look like their book version but the very essence that‘s always been between them is wonderfully shown in the series. I love it to be honest, probably because I expected to hate it. Can‘t wait to see more :)
I'm loving the rose and dimitri videos I really hope we get second season rose and dimitri badass I hope someone makes videos of just badass rose hathaway too
I just gotta say 1 more thing in this video rose said its mason I love mason but I hope they they kill him storywise where Eddie and rose friendship and I want to see her going through that grief process It would be sad but I want don't have to agree ok I'm done
Okay, I read the books (huge fan), watched the movie (eh, okay I guess) but haven't seen the series yet. So question for bookreaders: should I? The cast of Dimitri is good I guess and rose has the rose-spirit, but what about the acting (does Dimitri have the russian accent), the story and charactere development? A little review, no spoilers for the series, please
They do bring in the political aspects earlier but at the same time give more information on the background of the book which I personally appreciated. I think its better than the movie and you should give it a try
To me, it really depends on how well you can stand director Julie Plec (Vampire Diaries). POSITIVE: There's been a lot of changes storywise that I do not mind. For instance, Moroi and Damphir lives are much more separated. Those can be seen as improvements. Dimitri does not have the Russian accent, but personally I don't think those details take away from the story. The actors are fine (although personally I feel that everyone outshines Rose on-screen) and the dialogue is quite natural. NEGATIVE: Character development is poor. This is mostly because of how Americanized the series is. It's secks, booze and glamour. People hook up seconds after meeting ("true love"). What I dislike most is the character inconsistencies. I think both Rose and Dimitri are the least comparable to their written versions, but also to what they are presented as in the series itself. Two spoiler-free examples: 1) Book-Rose was insubordinate, but almost always to protect Lissa. Here, she's insubordinate just because. She says she does everything to protect Lissa, but brings her outside of the walls without good reason. 2) Book-Dimitri always kept his distance because of their profession. Series-Dimitri is also presented as the most respected guardian, but in these first episodes he continuously makes teacher-inappropriate moves on Rose. So, if you really liked Vampire Diaries, teen drama and hot make-out sessions, I would recommend watching this too. If you like how connections slowly formed between the characters, I would skip it.
He doesn’t have the accent but as a longtime fan of the books I adore the series. Don’t think of it as an adaptation, but more of a… I don’t know. It melts different books into the first season and is more like a separate story with the same characters but the same general plot line.
As a hardcore fan of the books as well I would definitely recommend watching it! I went into it not really liking the trailer and upset over the character choices being so different from their description in the books (aka how I pictured them). HOWEVER the chemistry is undeniable between the characters and all the little changes really work (imo) to help the story feel fresh and exciting. It's definitely not a true 'scene for scene' account of the books, more of a blended version with a few twists, but the world is really well developed and it honestly helped not to know exactly what was coming every two minutes. All I will say though is that whilst I now LOVE the series I didn't find episode 1 particularly gripping and it took episode 2/3 before I became obsessed
Roza kills me every time❤️🔥
Same always has
