Thanks for the video, for those like me who are still thinking about the basics and how to's on a VM, it is very informative. Now I feel reassured about this part as it really is much more easier than I thought
I have a tadpole (trike) and not being a velomobile it is easy to access and to inspect prior to each ride. Unfortunately this is not the case with most velomobiles. Thumbs up.
I would recommend using a tube with removable presta valve, so you can add tubeless sealant, it will save the day 90% off the time, especially if you are using Schwalbe G-one or similar slick tires with poor puncture resistance. Btw your velomobile comes with a 26 or 29er tires? Very good channel Saukki! Thumbs up!
Hello Saukki, have you done a test how head wind influence avarage speed vs no wind? Would be interesting because wind kills me on my road bike, my quest is on order, you are to blame, lol
No I haven’t done a test like that. It would be interesting but difficult to do, though. At the moment the closest best thing is to go to www.kreuzotter.de and use bicycle speed and power calculator to calculate the difference between Quest and road bike.
...and next time the replacement of the rear tyre! Isn't there an antiflat-tyre possible? What is about flat-tyre spray? I suggest there is a lot of velomobile engineering possible to ease such obstacles.
After breaking all collarbones in one season on standard racing bikes, I am seriously thinking about changing the running equipment. I can't fall from velomobile ?
A small trick. take a small oval of old inner tube and punch a hole in it, the diameter of the valve stem. Place this over the stem; before you push it through the rim. It helps to protect the stem; when the hole is for the larger valve type. Your tyres look like the 32 x 369mm Schwalbe I use on my Moulton AM7. A London cycling friend told me that the streets of London were NOT paved with gold. In his opinion, It was all little bits of GLASS. Very annoying.
For example last year, not even once. New tyres tend to get less punctures than worn out tires. Also your road conditions effect. If there’s lot of sharp stones on your roads, then you are more likely to get a puncture.
Thanks for your velo videos saukki, I am trying to get my hands on a velomobile but we dont have any dealers in my country. Any advise please. I have e mailed Theo from velomobile.nl but seems they are very busy
Just keep emailing to them at velomobiel.nl. Sometimes they might miss an email or forgot to reply. Because as you said, they are quite busy with all the Quattrovelo orders :D
One more tip: Place the logo on the tire at the valve. If you've found the leak on the inner tube, you'll know where to look in the outer tire.
There is always something new to learn from your videos even if I have changed tires several times and it 's entertaining anyway. Thanks again Saukki.

Thanks for the spare tire pre-made waiting to replace flat tire idea.

Quest has 20” (406 mm) front tires and 26” (559 mm) rear tyre.
Interesting video, thanks Saukki

I quess you could pour tubeless sealant into inner tube to prevent flat tyres. Or then run completelly tubeless.

No, you can’t fall from velomobile. But for example you can roll over with a Quest velomobile if cornering too fast.
buy a quattrovelo, that one has 4 wheels and its extremely unlikely to roll over
It's preperation for me, since I'm still waiting for the compensation from when I was hit last year.
Such a small piece of glass! Thanks Saukki. I feel I need some small tube liner or something to not be impacted by this demon glass.
Hyvä video!
Punctures are a thing of the past now I ride my trike with SOLID tiers. Have a look at tannus.co.uk/

Do flat tires happen alot?

How do you change a tire on a quatrevelo
Same as Quest or most other velomobiles.

Thank you S. Is the carbon quest worth the extra money?
En nyt sanoisi että tuo on sen helpompaa kuin pystypyöränkään renkaanvaihto - se haarukasta irrottaminen vie 3 sekuntia :-D
Dude get a tubeless set-up and never worry about flats again..Well almost never:P
