Live Daniel Williams uses all Meinl Cymbals including this Meinl Classics High Bell. In the studio though, he uses an A Custom Ride with a 6 inch Zil Bel, 2 Meinl Crashes, a Meinl china, and Zildjian Avedis Hi-hats.
or instead of spending any money this is wat my buddy did when he cracked one of his zildjians and like couldn't repair it he cut out the bell of the cymbal and smoothed out the edges and it sounds pretty sweet didn't spend any extra money of a bell and he made use of a broken cymbal
Hmm, I think I'll stick with my 6" Zil-Bel. It was pricy but worth it, although I found out later you can get cymbals for way cheaper on ebay vs. retail.
most people like me, like it upside down because 1. its easier to hit and 2 again most people like me stack the bells on either ride or crash cymbals so its not in the way when upside down.
try mounting it the other way, you get a different sound out of it, that is what i have found with bells, even though i don't have one. i might buy this one soon. they are $60 at guitar center if they stock them
it's actually not that great i think. 3 of those came with the Shure drum mic kit and there really annoying to use. You should get the Audix one that has a bendable arm on it. I use mic stands for the other 2 toms cuz the one you see made the mic buzz when i hit the tom and that isn't good
ehhhh.... maybe but you can't really hear the ringing through the mix when you're drumming. I saw some stupid comment about it on Musicians Friend that said to put a moongel on which is fucking stupid

since this video I've put a total of maybe 3 or 4 washers (felt and rubber) which has fastened the decay a bit
ya i should start getting some more. I'm probably gonna replace my AAX splash (which is cracking around the center) with a byzance 8 inch splash
so like,
if you were to dampen it alot with felts,
and tighten it all the way, would the resonance go down some?

@MapexRG do you think it would decay faster if you have it tightened down with felt on both sides? (like if you put it on top of a ride)
Thanks for the review. I'm now gonna order the high one.

@Hammy0924 Yeah thats super loud but im speaking in terms of small ding rather than large ship bell sound
can you flip the bell and get the same sound?
oh ya it looks like a Sabien B8 color (link in name and B8 bronze?). thanks for the comment
@Maarkaald i agree this is not the best but say a stagg bell is far greater and cuts much more than a zil bel. zil bels are extremly quiet
how different does it sound when it's the other way up?
@ThePorreye not if you want a buncha different sounds from it haha!! by flipping it, you only get one sound

Do u know wut type of bell Daniel Williams of The Devil Wears Prada uses?
thnx :)
Arent you the guy from the jared dines "metal screamin doesn't take talent 2" video
maybe the high bell. Tell me what you ultimately get.
very nice bell! I´m planning to buy the Lowbell ... thanks for posting! =D
i got a paiste cup chime for $20 and it sounds relatively the same.
@Maarkaald
lol looking back on this is so funny cuz i sound like i have no balls here HA. w.e I sound like a tool sponsoring meinl here
I think that was me that posted that comment, hahaha. It's not stupid though, I don't have it yet, so I didn't know that it gets lost in the mix.
DO you know which one it is? (High, Medium, Low?)
Ice bell is LP. Sabian has the cup chimes and alu bell
Pastey?

I get the same ring from a 6 or 8 inch saw blade.
im pretty sure he uses a 6" zil-bel thats what i have :) check it out on my dumpweed cover
you'll be happy
i like fliped upside down
i´ve got this bell
it sounds very good ( better like bells from zildjian paiste ...)
and its very cheap
no problem
who cares about his spelling haha!! the review served its purpose, thanks man :D I needed to watch this to compare all these gdamn bells
thanks!
Krimh is awesome. i agree:P
nope not on wikipedia
i have the mienl classics 8 high bell and its awsome and they sound heaver in person than in the vid AND THER CHEAP
@thecravenator42069
ha. ya i can't stand my voice here
ehhhh.... maybe but you can't really hear the ringing through the mix when you're drumming. I saw some stupid comment about it on Musicians Friend that said to put a moongel on which is fucking stupid
there isn't much difference. the reason some do that is just because they find it easier to hit
@Wolfparade51 I was about to say something but you beat me to it. It's not paistey... I'M paistey... It's pie-sty...
Heavy = higher pitch, so the light one is the lowest pitch.
The new Paiste PSTX 9'' Pure Bell only costs 52$ and sounds WAY better than this one.
yes I just choose not to. whatever floats your boat
Preference
It's a 6" Zil- bel. I'm not sure why he uses it even though he's sponsored by Meinl, bur whatever
ahh,
this is nice
You sound like Andy Milonakis
I'm not krimh
SABIAN*
haha.
wow,
yeah thanks agiain for posting this.
i dont think this is what im looking for though, bleh.
i like something more high pitched.
pie-sty
thanks lol
its PIE-STEE
lol
Too many over tones for me ._.
Dan's R&C yeah , the classics bell isn’t as good as the classics custom , which is b10 bronze and not b8
