Ha! Great video! I love your narration, and also your frugal attitude towards re-using what you have and not going overboard with making it fancy. Very achievable for us average homeowners without a ton of money to spend!

I would never have let grass grow between the trees to begin with.
I would have put down LARGE pieces of CARDBOARD and then mulched with pine mulch.
The landscape fabric will prevent the mulch from decomposing into the soil. (great compost)
Still, nice to see you rid of grass that is competing with trees for moisture and nutrients ! 🤣
I would add chicken manure pellets as well.

When I first planted them, they were really small and it wasn’t too bad. I put a 2 foot diameter mulch around each tree, and there was plenty of room to mow around them.
But, the mulch was pretty much all gone the next year and it got a lot harder to mow around them as they got bigger.
I should’ve did this from the beginning! Oh well, it’s done now!

I planted 30 green giants 4 years ago. 8 feet apart. They were 4-5 feet. The ones in full sun are about 20 feet tall and shaded ones are probably 12. Full shade even shorter maybe 8. Mowing around them sucks. Haha the larger ones are starting to touch each other so hopefully i wont have to mow around them for long.

Glad to hear they are growing. I’m very much looking forward to 20 foot tall trees!
I think I’m experiencing the opposite; my full sun trees are shorter and my shaded trees are taller.

I like you being wearing shorts and Keen Newport H2 sandals in summer time. But do you get those from Amazon or from the store.

I did try purchasing them from Amazon, because they cost a little less, but the size didn’t fit quite right.
I went to a local store where I could actually try them on and purchased them there. Worth the extra money to not have to guess sizes and mail shoes back-and-forth several times.

why not put mulch over the hose...it will hide the green "snake" at least, but looks good otherwise :)

I thought about burying it under the mulch. I decided I wouldn’t be able to see it or access it if something went wrong somehow.
