PS: I have the Legend, and a Manticore (and a couple of others). I've been having the best luck on the larger Canadian coins in 20khz. The transmit signal tends to excite the plating more and the ring a little higher. Try cycling through the frequencies and you'll find the return signal peaks strongest at 20. At 40 it drops off noticeably. 20 seems to be the sweet spot.
That second coin sounded awful. Sad that our coins are now being made from recycled 70's Toyotas and Datsuns. The newest loonies ring up at about 2.
