They can certainly believe a defendant is guilty but not have admissible evidence and have to not go forward.

There was an inconsistency between the description of the taillight between the sergeant from the neighboring jurisdiction and Proctor. He met Proctor and the other detective at the home of Karen Read’s parents when they were confiscating Karen Read’s car. The sergeant testified that he noticed the taillight was CRACKED, and Proctor said the taillight had pieces missing - BIG difference! Huge!!!!

This is what we call in policing career suicide. Every public employee in Massachusetts has to go through sensitivity training. There is a record of him taking this training. There was an inconsistency between the description of the taillight between the sergeant from the neighboring jurisdiction and Proctor. He met Proctor and the other detective at the home of Karen Read’s parents when they were confiscating Karen Read’s car. The sergeant testified that he noticed the taillight was CRACKED, and Proctor said the taillight had pieces missing - BIG difference! Huge!!!!
