Rewatched it all recently. Still beats 80% of today's crap. You rarely get such story telling, characters and world building... it really is a masterpiece and that's not up for arguments.

Just finishes this anime, gave it a 9/10. This deserves more seasons, the whole art and animation is good too with the jin equips and such. I have faith that it'll eventually continue and just on a long pause like other animes

It's definitely him all right. It sounds very similar to his stuff with Bleach, the Berserk movies and Evangelion. However, just like his other stuff, this has it's own unique elements: Magi's score relies a lot on electric guitar. Bleach has a mix of everything, Evangelion has a lot of jazz and orchestrated elements, and the Berserk movies are very dark, epic fantasy esqe with a lot of drums.
