You should check out his older stuff. I like how he explains why he does things and does a lot of freestyle building in the videos. Not sure if he is shy/ awkward/ social anxiety like me, with his laugh but he is definitely an underrated hermit imo!

I can't believe I only just noticed this but prismarine looks absolutely gorgeous with your texture pack!! Especially the bricks, they look like there's that underwater light on them... Also the almost purple deep blue water of the cold ocean is my favourite!

I love that some of the Hermits are going retro on their own old base designs.
Also love the holding back and pacing. Never been a fan of Hermits rushing in building a bunch of stuff and then disappearing for the rest of the season because of burnout or lack of content ideas because they rushed it.
Looks like you will have a lot of sand to get wood.

Having an ocean Monument as a Base is such a cool idea. I am so excited for what you will do with it.
to save time with sand placing, you can skip making squares and make narrow rows instead. It is faster to go to the nether to dry sponges than it is to get sand in place.

If I could change anything in Minecraft - I would add a wood cutter. Like the stone cutter.. but you could make all the blocks, strip the logs, and use all trapdoor and door textures on all the wood types. Much love XB, always happy when a new vid comes out :D
It may be a bit late, but invis potions mean guardians won't attack you if you have at most one armor slot filled, because they need to come so close to see you that their need to swim away to attack, at which point they no longer see you.

thats a neat way to lay out the sand into the water. defo gotta try that in the future
Im not sure if this is true for Java (Im forced to play in bedrock.), but in bedrock you can "plug" up the guardian spawn points (theres like 25 in all.) so you would make 25 pillars on the Y cords of the spawn points until you reach the top/no water. dig into the monument to make sure those Y holes are plugged up. And then you don't have to drain the monument if you don't want to.
My guardian farm ended up looking like an oil rig. lol but honestly its really efficient.
Be cool if you could combine sponges into a super sponge to make the water removal faster.😂

At least you can use all that sand to buy as much wood as you want the rest of the season.
I really want gem to make a fishing game based on dredge, but it kinda seems like any hermit could make one at this point
Also, whats the tradeoff of the sand pits vs making a slimestone sweeper? Im guessing youd have to make the sweeper square, but you could make it a circle again by adding water at the top later. The actual pyriamid being a pain?

This makes me want to clear out the ocean monument again for the third time. I always say NEVER AGAIN, but I do so enjoy the zen feeling of placing sand.
xB please use a flying machine water sweeper to clear out that square of water! RaysWorks has a video with some honey block designs from Pingu and others.

ive never done the guardian clearing, but is there a way to make a vertical flying machine that pushes a column out 1 block then moves and pushs the next, etc.
Lol... draining a perimeter and monument sure is a thing... it sure does take a stupid long time to drain and demo everything.
