- This video covers the seat installation for a Mustang Wide Touring seat for a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic and Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom. The install process is nearly the same for both with the exception being just different bolt lengths and spacers needed for the 900 Custom.

That's a great deal! Yes, it's absolutely worth every penny even at full price. I definitely wouldn't be able to ride for 7+ hours at a time on the stock seat or even the Kawasaki "Comfort Upgrade."

The Kawasaki Vulcan 900 OEM seat that comes with the bike is terrible. I need to upgrade the seat, but the cost for a Mustang seat is just too expensive. It's over $800 on ebay for a Mustang touring seat for the Vulcan 900 Classic LT. Thinking about getting Kawasaki's gel seat and adding some kind of cover to it to make it more comfortable.
Yup, it looks like Mustang is out of stock again, so people are jacking the prices up on the ones they have. I'd call up Mustang or send them an email to see when they'll have stock again. It's definitely worth the upgrade, when priced appropriately. The Gel Comfort seat is a slight upgrade over stock, but if you experience tailbone discomfort on the stock seat, you'll get the same thing on the Kawasaki Gel comfort seat, just about 40 mins later than the stock one. I use one of these on my GSX-R and it helps quite a bit. It might be worth using it on the stock seat until Mustang has theirs available again. amzn.to/387AaXy

I have the same bike. The Mustang seat ran me about $550 new but I hat was around 2015.
Interesting. I have 2011 Vulcan 900 classic lt and didn't use the bracket. Just swapped the stock seat and its great. Did it about 10yrs ago and no problem. Can ride 3-4 hrs srraight compared to the monkey butt stock seat.
It's definitely a great upgrade!
No followup review on the Kawi Gel seat like you promised…

How much of an improvement is this over the stock or the one you just replaced?
Huge improvement over both. The stock, I could only be on for about 40 minutes before my tailbone started hurting. The Kawasaki Comfort seat's limit was about an hour and 45 mins. This one I did a 5 hour total trip on and never felt any discomfort. It's still not even fully broken in yet either. That and my girl absolutely loves the improvement on the passenger seat too.

@@luke-zm9cg I'd definitely recommend this one then for sure. It's well worth the cost. The sissy bar is a Cobra Standard. It's a little low with the extra height of the Mustang Seat, but they do make taller ones. If you'd like, I can grab a measurement from the seat to the top of the sissy bar backrest to get an idea of the placement.

So this helps with tailbone pain? I get tailbone pain from riding about 30 minutes and it becomes unbearable. Did u also have a similar issue? I was thinking about opening up the stock seat and taking the foam out from where my tailbone sits to see if that helps.
I'd say it definitely helped extend my rides significantly. I too got plenty of tailbone pain on the stock one after a little while. So far I'm able to go for 4 + hours on this seat and I don't have any issues. You could also try an air cushion seat that goes over the stock seat. I have one on my GSX-R, which has helped quite a lot when I take that bike on the road. amzn.to/3KglPpq

@@roosterinmarari Yes, you do sit up just a little higher, which helps with longer legs, but you're also just a bit closer to the tank. The previous Kawasaki Gel Comfort seat I had basically had me sitting on the gas tank. This one is slightly closer to the tank, but there's still plenty of room. I'm only 5' 8", but I'm 275lbs and still fit comfortably when I was 308lbs.

Think about this, you can go buy a brand new recliner for less than a Mustang motorcycle seat.
Somebody’s doing more to bikers butts than making them comfortable. 😳😂😂
😂 they do "bend you over" in a sense. But so far I'm just happy my rear isn't numb after an hour anymore. Despite the price tag, the comfort is well worth it.
