Thanks dude, yeah I have found the pool coping is addictive, it’s starting to get a bit grizzled, but there are a good bunch of enthusiasts that help to maintain it !!
i always enjoy watching your videos , you explain skateboarding in a really informative way :)) you inspire me to learn more transition 🙌 i look forward to the future videos
Another great video, Jon! Thank you! I'm on my 3rd && 9.13" deck. I just keep coming back to this shape after trying others. Your Jimmy Wilkins deck seems to be tremendously different from everything else I've seen you skating. That has to introduce extra emotion when you're on the vert ramp.
Yeah dude. Vert skating feels pretty much like a different sport to me 😂 it’s so specific that I run an optimised setup for it. I really like the Wilkins deck, it may seem different, but it has the same 15” wheelbase and is only 1/4 inch narrower. If I go to skate the vert I just skate the vert board so as not to get confused?!!
who doesnt love opening a new deck. i want to try riding one of these. my answer to rails will always be creature glow in the dark . they would look sick on that deck
Skating some ace af1 66’s now, and I got to axle about 5 months ago (about 2 months into skating them, lots of pool coping and curbs) and they’re grinded at least halfway through the axle but they’re still holding on. Waiting for them to snap any day now 😹
Really nice deck Jon, about the trucks i confess that never seen such a worn truck haha! I'm tired of street and trying to learn how to skate bowl/transitions and i want to change my setup, leaving from the 8.0 deck/low trucks to the big man toys. What's your impression about these more square tails decks vs the rounded ones in bowl skating? Hugs from Brazil!
Hey dude, Many thanks for checking in! Yeah I like a square tail for tail blocks and general comfort. I ride a popsicle on vert though and I like it ? I recon as long as the deck inspires confidence and gets you stoked on the feel/look then anything is fine?? Let me know how you get on !!
Hey Jon, just grabed myself the 9.13 7ply with 169 Indys and bones X wheels for Christmas. Really love the way you explain your progression and share the stoke. I'm not that good yet but determined to get there, your videos were part of the reason why I went for that board (new colorway aswell ;) By the way: is there any other reason then AA going for the 8.75 mini Logos that you got the same size Indys? Because: Mini Logos do not exist any larger, so maybe it could be worth it for you going to a bigger truck size aswell :) why did you switch from Mini Logos to Indys btw?
Yeah dude. The 8.75 work perfectly for rail stands. They are only just over 1/8 of an inch towed in so it feels nice a stable. The Indy’s turn and grind better than mini logo imo, but I still run the mini logo on my flight deck setup. 169s will be fine for carving etc, but I also prefer the lock in on a narrower truck?
Huh, you dont have wheelbite with 58mm wheels? I have the same trucks and (flight) board but i have to use risers for my 56mm wheels 🤔. How you also like this one vs the flight deck?
Haha I thought the same thing, I'm on at least a 1/8" riser (if not 1/4") with 60mm wheels and the same trucks and bushings - I'm not sure how much Jon weighs but you can see at 8:10 those trucks are cranked way down. I'm running 1 thread showing at most but I cruise/carve the same setup.
Hey dude, love the flight, but it’s a different feel for sure. I got on well with a Kendall reissue in the pool, and that was 7 ply. The 7 ply Anderson feels like a shaped reissue, just has a more modern nose?
That pool coping looks butter smooth. You make it look easy these days

@@JonBishopSkate Thank you! I just ordered another deck and picked the Bucky Lasek Dino Ripper because it has a 15" WB.
Brilliant! I always enjoy your && reviews.
Greetings from San Clemente, California.
Happy New Year 🎊

Can’t tell if my eyes are deceiving me. Is that switch fs axle stall in the thumbnail??
Ha, I wish dude, just a cheeky photoshop flip. Both decks F/S pivot, new deck one is flipped 😢
