Thank you all so much for the support! If you would like to subscribe to "Beyond the Ranch" please click this link bit.ly/2nhsdIj We are very excited and hope to have a lot of fun with it! By the way, just dropped in the new engine! Not running or anything but at least its in there!
I love the way you allow your kid's to watch & learn while you fix the Gator. My Step Father was a Master Mechanic & grew up starting the same way watching, learning then actually helping drive & fix our car, truck, dump truck, loader etc. I'll never forget those day's lol. My Mom was absolutely useless on that end of the project's lol & I'll never forget how many time's he'd start out having her help him, to only end up saying (excuse my language) GDI go get Terri Lmbo! I loved working on car's but even though I graduated in '71' girl's weren't allowed to take auto shop, mechanical drawing, architecture or even the fun things like Jr. Rodeo (my step uncle was a bull & bronc rider). So I had to learn these things elsewhere lol. To make a long story short. Even today at 66 this month, I can still listen to a car & pretty much tell you what's wrong with it. Those are experiences & memories you & your wife are passing down to your kid's & believe me, they will never forget them, even when they reach my age. That's one of the reasons why your channel is in my top 10 list of the channel's I watch & recommend to other's. Keep up the good work.
Great video, like to see the real world part of ranching. On another note, we just relocated from Texas to Sheridan thanks to your vids. My Deep South wife was convinced that living in Wyoming was like living in the 1800s Wild West but after watching a coule dozen shows she relented. We couldn't be happier. Look forward to stopping by the shop one day to purchase some stuff.
That's a smart move Mr. Mike. You put new life in a paid for machine and you have the other engine for spare parts. You have an awesome family, a great channel, and one heck of a legacy. I guarantee you that your father-in-law would be very proud of the job you and your family are doing.
The best experience is in the shop holding the flashlight as a kid, i was always eager to learn and help as a kid. Every kid needs to get oil and grease on their hands at least once.
Should be, and hope to be on the next video john g. I cant agree more with ya having the kids out helping and just being there. Thanks for watching. -Mike
Great video, and to the comment about allowing your children in your shop while you are working on engines and such actually does help them develop ideas on how to fix things, I sure learned a lot when it comes to fixing engines and cars just by handing my father tools and that occasional beer lol
Hi again! Hey MIKE can't get along without a Gator right!! When I heard the price for a new engine I was hoping that's what you'd do. Perfect timing for your hunter friend to get there to not only hunt but Help. Almost like a new one for cheap lol! So happy it worked out. Happy to hear it has the air/heat ability cause the cold and white stuff is on the way!! Looking forward to the new channel! More to enjoy about you all. Congrats Mike and Erin too! You've created something very special over there. Thx as always...
Going to check out beyond the ranch. A subscriber from Canada is bringing me a snow mobile motor to put on a golf cart. Should be a fun winter project. Have a good week.
Got er done Mike on the BTR subs. Got some salsa just done too. Best part of climate controlled engine swaps has to be the presence of your young aspiring mechanic trio! Hope this damp cool weather doesnt impact your operations, Erin's gardens, and of course your happy helpful friendly OWL hunting crew :=)
As always enjoy your videos and I did subscribe to your new channel you definitely have some good helpers there your kids will have these memories helping Dad out in the shop will definitely last a lifetime y'all definitely are great parents an very blessed
Again another great informative video. Great way to teach the kids the ranch life. My family and I was just thru Gillette today 10/1. We are from Ohio. I wish I had had time to contact you guys and stop and meet all you. Keep up the great work!!
I think that is the perfect place to have your kids I have fond memories of doing stuff like that and it showed me how to do so much more even if it wasn't a gator it may be your own car
I had an 850 RSX gator. Had nothing but trouble. Repairs cost to much to keep. Traded it for used jeep wrangler. Much better and I can drive it on the highway.
If you have not finished this project all ready now would be a good time to powerwash the underside and the engine bay while you have everything exposed. Thanks for the video.
Thanks Rodney, I like that is not real difficult to get the kids out into the shop, and helping. Have ya ever know a guy who gets a new truck but keeps his old one? Then after driving it a week is back to driving the old truck? Thats about the best I can describe how that happened. Thanks again Rodney. -Mike
Great video as always y'all! Just subscribed to the new channel! Good luck with getting the gator running again. Earlier this year, we had to do some maintenance to our cattle checker as well...our golf cart. Made me realize just how out of shape I was when I walked out to feed the animals. Lol! Anyways, keep up the great work and have a great rest of the day - Everett aka Farm Boy #1
Im from East los angeles but I'm vacationing out here in Culiacan, Sinaloa. Avout two years ago when i came here I showed my grandparents your channel and they love it man. They have a ranch( Rancho Villarreal) beautiful ranch which includes mountain terrain about 200 acres. They have 27 horses, 40 to 50 cows and three bulls_(Sementales) one of them is actually a son of the former PBR bull "Asteroid". Beautiful bull. Anyways keep it up man. My grandpa also asked if you can recieve any fan mail? He has some pretty good tequila bottles he wants to send you!
I am going to check out your new channle 👍 We use those gaters at work and they do pretty well untill they start losing power then it's like a complete drop off down hill for them. Good luck and I'm looking forward to the next video
"The Shop" is a great environment. Dunno which is more amazing: (a) handing the ECM to a five-year old, or (b) doing an engine change (albeit a small engine) with your hat on.
You know I love your channel and everything y'all do on the ranch ❤️ and yes I went over and subscribe to the new channel can't wait to see you guys over there I know it's going to be great
I see you've gotten a light bar on the front of the gator. More than likely was on months ago and I never noticed lol. My Honda foreman 500 is at like 1200 hours and it started starting harder start of the year and I found if I churn the starter a little then start the engine it fires right up. Must be fuel pressure or something but at least it's not as bad as your problem.
Shh not to loud the Foreman may hear ya! LOL Hope it stays like that for a long time and doesnt decide to its needs a new "??". I did a video on the light bar, I got it for Christmas last year(2018) installed it right before calving. Thanks for watching. - Mike Edit for refreshed memory!
Mr. Armstrong Linc giving that ol jack handle what fer. 🖒 Mike what ever you do don't forget water/anti-freeze for the radiator and oil for the engine.😁
I love the video and I like the idea of your new channel. I'll be honest I rarely watch your live streams. If a video is longer than 25 or 30 minutes I rarely watch it on any channel. I work a full time job and we have horses, goats, chickens and rabbits. That along with gardening I don't have time to watch the long videos. So with the new channel I won't miss a video here. God bless you guys.
Mike , This video came out just at the right time . Today i just received two more tool sets for the mobile set that i have been building. next summer i'll bring with a good amount of tools to help out on a project. If you get a chance online lookup equipment specialists co. Duluth . Everyday is interesting. Tell Erin we said hi and hope all is well.
Remember kids the true purpose of an engine hoist is to test the tensile strength of everything you forgot to disconnect. And yes I learned that the hard way. You would be amazed how much weight a 3 inch long quarter inch around piece of steel can hold
I totally agree I was working on my old Ford pickup and the best part was my girlfriend's 6 year old was wanting to help.. yes it was kind of a pain but the job got done and I had a 6 year old covered with dirt and grease. But the very best part was getting a giant hug from a 6 year old covered in dirt ang grease saying we did it Marco we did it I hope he will remember it I know I will

830 subs in 19 hours minimum for ad revenue was 1000 should have that by morning
Well we also need 4000 hours of watch time, that will take a while :) Thanks Earl
Great news! Good luck with getting the engine running!
I love the way you allow your kid's to watch & learn while you fix the Gator.

Our Wyoming Life give me all of it I’m in a wheel chair thanks now
Thank you Jeff.
I'm with you Mike, that is EXCATLY where the kids should be. Learning, watching and soaking it all in. Great video!!
I like that Lincoln had to pump the jack by himself with no help! Your kids are and will be solid! Thank you!

I so wish my son had been as interested in learning how a vehicle works. Getting kids involved in projects helps give them confidence as they grow up.
Love seeing how you always include your children in everything on the ranch. They are learning great lessons of life and wonderful memories.
That's a smart move Mr. Mike. You put new life in a paid for machine and you have the other engine for spare parts. You have an awesome family, a great channel, and one heck of a legacy. I guarantee you that your father-in-law would be very proud of the job you and your family are doing.
Thank you very much I really appreciate it -Mike
Love watching you and your family, you are an inspiration to all.
Thank you very much Walsh Farms. We are fortunate to have been blessed with the kids. Thank you for watching, -Mike
Great to see the kids helping, watching. I think all need to learn basic mechanics.
The best experience is in the shop holding the flashlight as a kid, i was always eager to learn and help as a kid. Every kid needs to get oil and grease on their hands at least once.
Looking forward to see the JD running again. It's nice the little one's get to help and hang around. Thanks, John G
Should be, and hope to be on the next video john g. I cant agree more with ya having the kids out helping and just being there. Thanks for watching. -Mike
A new engine for your gator will make it feel brand new!! We looked at Gators to purchase for our place, a d ended up buying a Mule.
When I get a bit older I plan to have a big ranch just like yours!
Make it happen Cowboy Things! -Mike
No offense but I cant tell you how happy I am that yall are doing this.
Why would that be offensive? Thanks for watching -Mike
Looking forward to the new channel. Thanks for all your great work that goes into the channel.
Thanks David. -Mike
Such valuable experiences for your children to have! They'll definitely profit from being part of and involved in the ranch life.
Its great seeing your kids getting daddy time!
Great video, and to the comment about allowing your children in your shop while you are working on engines and such actually does help them develop ideas on how to fix things, I sure learned a lot when it comes to fixing engines and cars just by handing my father tools and that occasional beer lol
G Jose Malave, Exactly! Instill that can-do sence and work ethic. That a great way of learning and teaching in my opinion. Thanks. -Mike
You and Lincoln remind me of my dad and me some 55 years ago. Keep it up - you're doing great!
Thanks Larry. Apreciate that. -Mike
A shop full of tools and stuff is a great place for kids. How else will they learn. Keep up the god work.
The part with your daughter driving the gator is priceless!!
Mike, glad your doing the work now, better that than getting stuck at the other end of the ranch in the middle of the winter.
Great little pumper helping nice job
Thanks John! I was impressed he was strong enough to pump that engine lift! Thanks for watching. -Mike

Thanks and looking forward to the new channel.
Thank You for watching Robert Black1911. -Mike
Thank goodness for Lincoln.
oh very cool. Happy for the other channel. I like watching podcast. Make sure you include some bloopers.
I like the new changes. Well Done!

Awesome video as always Mike thanks so much for sharing
Im happy to be able to share it with ya ANDREW. Thanks - Mike
I agree i was Lincoln's age and my dad would work on his 1983 Monte carlo loved "helping" him ( iam 18 now
Way to go on getting the kids involved. Not sure why Gilbert would not like that gator. Seems to be a nice machine.
Thanks Rodney, I like that is not real difficult to get the kids out into the shop, and helping. Have ya ever know a guy who gets a new truck but keeps his old one? I like the idea of your second channel, I'm not a huge fan of long format or live videos so thins cleans up my feed. I hope you have success in both.
As our moderator Matt said, The people have spoken and Our Wyoming Life has listened. Thanks for the well wish's Brian, and Thanks for watching.- Mike
Pulling an engine, how you find the max tensile strength of everything you forgot to disconnect.
Hey Mike you know that little boy won't never forget that right
I hope not Bama Boy! Thanks. -Mike
Co grats on the new engine for the Gator and on the new channel
Thanks Chris. -Mike

Appreciate that Kevin. Thanks for watching. -Mike
Never a lazy day on the ranch 👍

Edit for refreshed memory!
Oh ya Lincoln finally gets his fort-crate😉👍.
Beyond the Ranch here we go💥👍.
Thank you so much Lorie, love your enthusiasm - Mike
Oh ya get excited, throw out the bells and whistle. 💥👍. Dont give uo,dont give in.
Knowing the limited lifespan of the gator engine, do you plan on securing another engine soon, before they are discontinued?
He's got the old one that he can rebuild over time if need be.
where is part 2!??! :( never got to see it with the new motor!?
I love the Gator ! Hoping to get one next year will you be doing more videos about the gator ?
Whats the difference between a ranch and farm?
We have a late 90's JD Gator on are little farm and we do everything with it.
The hobby farmer we do the same with our Gator. Gets used everday .- Thanks Mike
Mr. Armstrong Linc giving that ol jack handle what fer. 🖒
Mike what ever you do don't forget water/anti-freeze for the radiator and oil for the engine.😁
LOL LOL OK Guessing the voice of experience is talking? Thanks -Mike

Mike you sound like you should be on the radio or TV as a spokesman
Thanks Drew -Mike
great video Mike trying to catch up now that I am out of the va hospital
Glad your out of the Hospital, and hope all is well. Glad your catching up. -Mike

What do you think of the Bollinger B2? Would you get one if you could?
Good choice
All subscribed to BTR. Thanks
Thanks Todd. -Mike
How many miles/hours did it have on it before it went completely?
I wondered the same, we have one that has been ranched hard, over 13k miles
14,000 miles, thanks - Mike
Remember kids the true purpose of an engine hoist is to test the tensile strength of everything you forgot to disconnect. And yes I learned that the hard way. You would be amazed how much weight a 3 inch long quarter inch around piece of steel can hold
How many hours on the old engine or did it wear prematurely?
makin kids into good adults is never a bad thing.
Yippee, no more jug a lug for you👍!

What equipment do you use for your podcast? Keep up the great work
Dewalt spotlight 👍🏻
Nothing like having a 5 year old “helping “.
Then comes the day when he helps, it takes LESS time.
Good times both ways.

@David Sams & @ Mark Collmer. You both have hit the nail on the head! Thanks - Mike
I subscribed to your beyond the ranch channel too, awesome motor replacement, watched both. Great job 👍
Who is you’re local John Deere dealership?
They're in Sundance, Wyoming.
You might want to overhaul and keep the old engine for when this new one gets old. Save you some money in the future. Just a thought😊🤔🤔
You got a new engine??? That's crate!
Sorry, I couldn't help myself. #DadJokes
how can a 2011 gator need a new motor? i have a 2010 polaris sportsmen 850 with 6k on it, the motor is just fine. i have 2 send mine in for gear shifter work.. but 1 day i hope 2 get a gator :)
Thats a good question MRJONHDEER3720. But thats the way the cookie crumbled. Thanks for watching. - Mike
@@OurWyomingLife sure is.. ur welcome :)
I think were all gonna be more content with more OWL content
Heart transplant? On the 15th of this month I will have a total knee replacement!
this is exactly how I learned. handing tools holding lights and about the children's age nothing wrong with it
James, I cant think of a better way to teach 'em and for them to learn. Thanks. -mike
When I helped my brother work on his car I thought "Hey I might learn something." But no, all I learned was how to hold a flashlight and get yelled at.
At least ya learned something. How to be a better teacher! Thanks for watching. -Mike
I'll sub to the new channel (because I love the content with all the live/life streams and arm chair rancher); however, IMO I thought this channel is great the way it is. I hope O.W.L channel doesn't get to thin with content. Maybe I'm just salty and hate subscribing to new channels. Anyways keep up the great work!
I thought $14 K was bad but $27,000 for a UTV is INSANE.
The kiddos helping out with extra jobs around the ranch is a perfect fit. They will never forget it .
Save those newer parts u installed on the gator before you swapped out the engine
I'd have pressure washed that before I started...
I don't know why farmers and ranchers buy those side by sides. You can get a Jeep Wrangler for same price and have very little maintenance. Maybe you can't claim a Jeep as a farm expense.
It's about ground pressure. You have to have vehicles that don't think tear up pasture and ruin ground. Thanks for watching -Mike
First. Love watching how Wyoming ranchers do there work compared to sd
Awesome thanks! - Mike
Lincoln deserved a special country song by Keith Urban... Please Mike help me play him Raise him up by Keith Urban ft. Eric Church. Thanks
👍 .
I love the content, but find the live streams too long or hard to maintain attention.
$27k for a new Gator? How about a used Jeep for that!
