Just received mine in the mail today and I'm super pleased with the professional feeling I got from the box packaging to the instruction booklet and of course the model itself. Initially I was a bit worried as its not an official LEGO® product. All that aside, I'm super happy with my purchase!
That's awesome!! I'm glad to hear it. I think you will really enjoy it - it's a very unique building experience. Almost halfway through the year, and it is still my favourite build of 2024
This is….DOPE!!! Do want!! Now!!
Dude, seriously, it's the best thing I've built this year. It's awesome. CaDA is also doing 12% off their entire store right now for their birthday/anniversary. I can't recommend it enough! Blows the LEGO icons cars out of the water
I wasn’t sure what to expect for this set but I’m really impressed with the way it was packaged. Lego themselves could learn a thing or two from these guys.
I agree! Like I say, a little competition is a good thing! I for one hope to see individually bagged windows from LEGO whenever possible. Especially on 18+ sets
You should also consider checking out the 1:8 Maserati MC20 kit, made by Rastar, which is also fully licensed and has some exquisite custom parts too. I'm certainly going to order the CaDA Ruf but the Rastar MC20 seems like an even better deal since it is way bigger with more pieces but still only costs on the order of $150.
I did check out their website actually! I had a few people recommend them (they have the licensed Pagani too, I think)
Seems like a great model! I will put it on the list. Cheers!
It's glorious! I was eyeing in on the shelf behind you in a previous video. Well done review! Agree that the wheels are fantastic
Thanks buddy!! It's honestly one of the few sets where I come back to admire it a lot. Also the tallneck lol
Amazing set with a smart combination of regular and Technic parts from the original designer! I've made Chinese sets and I agree the connectivity isn't perfect, but they can deliver impressive 1:8 supercars. Can't wait to see these selling at stores!
Absolutely!! I can definitely recommend it! The connectivity is very very good. It was only the steering wheel that had an issue.
Oh! They also give you extra parts in case you ever like to motorize your vehicles. It does not include the battery pack, motors, or remote, though. Just the parts to connect those to the car, if that makes sense
The quality of the Chinese brands is a spectrum but these days, there are barely any really bad ones left. Pretty much all are at least "good enough" and the best rival Lego in quality, among them Qman/Keeppley, Panlos, all brands using GoBricks parts (Mould King, Pantasy, Funwhole...) and CaDA as well. CaDA has a few parts with quality issues still left in their portfolio but they have been very agressive about further improving their quality and really excell at combining licensed sets and cooperations with brilliant designers.
I'm so happy to see you enjoy your first alternative brand, and show the world another choice vs Lego. Im a huge Cada fan, they have great quality, and they do there own thing. There are other amazing brands out there also, but I just want the world to know, there is a much bigger world of bricks than Lego.
True enough! There is really something for everyone. I really like CaDA and it certainly won't be my last of their sets - I already have my eyes on a couple more. Cheers!
Cada is great, as well as Mould King
I've heard some good things about mould king!
the only thing i dont like is, that it dosnt have a Flat 6(its wrong on the model, there made a 180 Degree V engine)
Interesting point and true I suppose since the opposing pistons are asynchronous in this model. Good catch!
I'd be interested to see if a true H6 is possible at this scale as the engine is very compact in this model.
Really love that in-line 6! Thanks for the nice review!
Thanks for watching!! Yes the engine is great!! Very different from what LEGO usually does, but it works quite well. Cheers!
Actually is it a flat "boxer" 6, but yes it looks great. I really like the Lego Icons Porsche 911, but this looks superior to it for sure.
its a flat 6
CaDa is always great, I bought the fc and my god it was amazing
That's awesome!! I've heard great things about the initial d sets. I don't know much about initial d, but I LOVE pre-2000s JDM cars. Also, I'm 99% sure they're making a Mazda 787B this year, and I am beside myself with excitement
no way that sounds awesome might have to grab one when it comes out
@@onecleverpig I guess CaDA did make the fully licensed 787B, but sadly it is a smaller speed champions size kit. If they come out with a 1:8 sized 787B with a working quad-rotary motor inside I would literally die of excitement!
Built the Italian Supercar by CaDA, no official license but everyone sees that this is a Ferrari. For the money a Technic Ferrai 488 GT3 costs, you get a model in size of the Lego Ferrari Daytona with a lot of more functions and even motor and lights. The build was exciting, sometimes a bit tricky too. A great set I just can recommend.
That's great!! I love the look of that 488 set. It's beautifully designed. CaDA has some amazing technic offerings. I personally really like the look of the Mercedes AMG One and Apollo Intensa Emozione they released.
Glad to hear you enjoyed!
I got the Bugatti W16.4 for Christmas. I love the way it looks, but to me it looks nothing like the real Car. I can't complain though, I'm happy with it- it's just not what it represents if you ask me. To me the White version of the Porsche looks a LOT better.
That's totally fair! I respect your opinion and I'm glad to hear you still enjoy your Christmas gift even if it's not quite perfect
If you’re into non Lego, the best brands that also make cars is MOULD KING. They have great technic 1:8 designs, brick built cars at that scale and speed champions. They don’t have licenses tho.
I have seen some of their stuff! Also somebody mentioned Rastar, I think it's called? They also do 1:8 scale and have some licenses like Pagani and Maserati, I believe.
@@onecleverpig I'd like a review of the small (red) Rastar R8
Love the vid!!! Love seeing the growth your deserve!! Keep up the great work brother!
Thanks buddy! Onward and upward! Hope you are doing well out there
Never heard of the brand before but will definitely give it a look. Based on your review, I agree Lego could step up their game
Thanks for checking out the video! If you're a fan of LEGO cars then I'd definitely recommend. I just hope that LEGO sees what other companies are doing and gives us better product for our money
They made an Initial D Toyota AE82, and man is it a good set. dunno about anything else from them but their car sets are pretty damn good, the plastic quality is solid to.
Pretty cool video! The model looks really good!
Thank you so much for stopping by, I really appreciate it!
I have definitely seen Held Der Steine pop in my feed every now and then. I will check out some of his videos on your recommendation. Thank you for the kind comment!
@onecleverpig no problem at all! 😊 His videos are German but they're still fun to watch and he covers many different models. Maybe there even are English subtitles but I'm not sure about that. 😅
It's weird that they put the name of the designer on the box, because their website doesn't show that at all. They also show a ton of other 3rd parties? The only sets I've noticed who show an actual designer are some of the cars. I've noticed MANY of them are just flat out stolen from MOC creators on Rebrickable.
It seems like the Cada stuff is okay, but everything else on their website I wouldn't trust.
Hmm that's weird! Did you try the link in the video description? It's exclusively for CaDA. They do credit their designers (they're very active on Eurobricks and seem to like working with CaDA) from what I've seen.
And yeah not all of their products are as well designed and there are definitely some sets where it's like "ohh you're trying to build a Bugatti but clearly don't have the license" which I am not a fan of.
Cheers!
I’ve bought multiple cada sets. All are great LEGO is ripping people off with there crazy prices
Yeah it's a great set for sure!! I will definitely be buying again. They're quality is really good!!
Couldn't agree more, Chinese companies are improving, lots, they have their issues, but i don't think that's the case for that long.
Lego is been left behind in development + there's a huge market in China. Recently, ive started to follow few Chinese Lego youtubers... awesome sets!!!
Absolutely and very well said!! I'm happy to have some more options! And the cheaper prices are great too!
is it the scale of the ford gt, raptor etc or smaller?
Great question - it's the same scale as the Ford gt, I think. Ford gt is 39cm long by 9 cm tall and the RUF here is 37cm by 12 cm so very close!
@@onecleverpig i think it looks good and yellow is a color that the lego technic cars kinda avoided and i need it in the collection
Window scratches are annoying, LEGO should definitely package those individually. The biggest issue I've seen with these knockoff brand sets is they can be hard to put together from a connection standpoint. It doesn't always click well, no pun intended.
You might be thinking about Mega Blocks in the 90s... Have you even tried Cada bricks? Their grip is comparable to lego. It's also shitty of you to call them a knockoff brand when they're one of the few 3rd party brick companies to pay moc designers & have several licensed IP sets.
100% agree with the window scratches!
Yeah I was definitely a bit leary of the connection issues and I really don't like when brands have clearly ripped off a design from LEGO or someone's MOC so I was very picky when choosing an alternate brand.
I can say, though, hand on my heart - 99.99% of the pieces behaved exactly how I would expect, and I've been around LEGO since I was 5. The only issue was clutch power on the steering wheel and the mould issue on 6x6 plate (didn't affect the build whatsoever)
It wasn't meant as a dig at Cada, it was a generalized statement. I think the set looks solid. LEGO has QA issues from time to time too.
@@my2credits Yeah, sorry… I dunno why I took your comment to heart there… no more coffee for me today
@@mobiusbelts3607 Are you perhaps an undercover Cada spokesperson? 🤣 It's all good, I get the passion.
