I guess but last minute as defined by what? By the fanbases need to have information that they don't really need? The Switch 2 is going to sale regardless of the amount of time that official information is available this just seems like a topic to keep youtubers topic as opposed to something worthwhile.
@@just_delightfulLast minute in regards to the deadlines both fans and them know about. MP4 for instance was re revealed very late last year almost because they had no choice. Switch 2 is leaking like hell and they still hold off
Knowing Nintendo, it was always the safe assumption to treat the last week of March as the last possible period for announcement. This has been in my mind ever since the announcement of the release date of Xenoblade X DE being March 20. I think as other channels like Nintendo Forecast have been saying, the biggest consideration for Nintendo was probably the situation with the weakness of the Yen. Financially, that one variable can change so much of whether the launch is successful for them or not. Either way, they've now left themselves with no breathing room for the announcement. It has to be before March 31. But their goal will be to make the hard landing caused by the weak Yen as soft as possible
Current rumors are suggesting the system will actually release at the very end of March, very short turnaround from whenever they announce it. If any company can pull that off successfully, it's Nintendo. And they've been holding back. The two games we've got on the docket are remasters/ports. And we haven't a proper Direct in a long time. Partners and Indie's don't count. So Nintendo is stockpiling for something the question is when they open the floodgates. That'll be enough to get the hype train moving full speed. Switch 1 was unveiled in October, but then Nintendo practically went silent until January when they did the big blowout and then only gave themselves a little less than two months to actually market the product.
The fiscal year comment was most likely just intended as a time window viable for investors, not an actual time limit for themselves. My issue with the idea of them waiting until the last minute is that the window was likely vague as a safety net, so if things can go wrong they can regroup later in the fiscal year. If the plan was always March, where’s the safety net? I personally think it’ll be any time within the next few weeks, Nintendo will miss a ton of business opportunities if it stretches past early February.
"C" = cast a second screen to dock/TV. To enable Wii-U type gameplay. Nintendo loves reusing old ideas in new ways. This would make perfect sense. Also, it aligns with their philosophy of only releasing systems/games when they provide a unique functionality/experience. And it aligns with the "switching" concept for the brand. Think about it. You pick up your Switch 2 from the dock and it switches to handheld mode. You then press the "C" botton on the right joy-con and it switches to casting mode (two screen gameplay like WiiU). With the new system, they are adding a new way to "Switch" your gameplay! And guess what, now they have a handheld console that can do something no other handheld on the market can do (not easily at least). So it's a perfect tactic that gives them a competitive edge against Steam Deck/ROG/future MS/PS handhelds. Not to mention that it's a deterrent/hindrance for future emulation efforts. It checks all the Nintendo boxes!
With the camera attachment, I thought it was for AR. My brother and I were having the discussion when TOTK came out, that they were hiding the Switch 2 in plain sight, and that it wouldn't surprise us for there to be a camera in the center of the back, and if strapped to your head, we could play something like Arms 2 in "Home Circuit" mode.
The Mercedes addition to Mario Kart ended up being a good investment considering how long 8 has been around. But it should have been an automaker that also made motorcycles. A Switch 2 could make it out of the factory & presented to Nintendo & they would still deny its existence.
One cool thing about Playstation vs Nintendo is they don't stop releasing the best games they can just because they have new hardware on the slate. Worst case scenario, you get two games like TLOU2 and Ghost of Tsushima on PS4 in 2020, instead of arbitrarily holding them back to be launch titles for the PS5 later that year. Then we get the improved PS5 versions later. Said PS5 versions then end up even better than they would have in terms of optimization, enhancements and new content, having been afforded more time, resources and expertise.
Or maybe, just maybe! They’re waiting until the talks and rumors stop and it starts to get quiet and hopeless and then announce (or tease) it without warning
Kind of annoyed that Nintendo is waiting until the last minute for the switch 2 reveal. Honestly, with the various leaks of the upcoming console system you think Nintendo would have something to say about these leaks regardless of what the company higher up say. This may backfire on Nintendo if they continue using this tactic.
It was going to initially be called the connect so you're either talking about internet connectivity or attachments. It has two separate USB ports, so the assumption of attachments is a very educated guess. Nintendo is still being very litigious regarding their IP, so I doubt they're opening up for streaming and similar things. It's the connect guys. They're just labeling it the switch too because connect would have the same issues as the Wii u
I'm thinking that the Switch 2 will be $500 with Nvidia GPU silicone. Nvidia is going crazy increasing the price of their 50 Series of PC GPU's, so Nvidia is going to want a piece of the Switch 2 pie. $100 for Nvidia, $400 for Nintendo = $500. I'm expecting the Switch 2 reveal to happen at Nvidia's event tomorrow at 6:30PT/9:30ET. Expect a lot of Nvidia Switch 2 DLSS talk. I'm excited!
Nintendo is currently being mismanaged to a degree not seen since the pre-NES era. They desperately need a Mr. Iwata or a Reggie, and they simply do not have one. Doug Bowser and Bill Trinen are apparently MIA and Shuntaro Furukawa is for all intents and purposes nonexistent. 🤷🏾♂️
Only 2 more years until the switch's 10th anneversary. Nintendo could wait until then to release the switch 2 for even bigger hype! I'm not fatigued at all by the lack of games im interested in. Let the chosen switch 2 hardware become dated and cheaper to mass manufacture, and let inflation get worse. That way, customers will suffer the most, and nintendo profits increase even more.
the answer is definitively yes. if they’re planning on releasing it this year they definitely could’ve teased it by now. they’re waiting until they have lots of stock and a head start on having lots of good games ready at and after launch, which i respect, but like, come on Nintendo. Switch users are struggling in the modern gaming landscape, it’s a necessity to upgrade at this point.
They are doing what I predicted in 2021 & that is to pass PS2 & then show Sw2 after. Looks like that could be 2025 now since I'm hearing they sold 8 milliom units so its only a matter of time.
Tabletop mode - PLAYED ABSOLUTELY ZERO TIMES during the entire Switch generation. JOY-CONS used as controllers - PLAYED ZERO TIMES during the entire Switch generation...I love the Switch but I barely "Switched" it up...I prefer it docked and played on the TV.
Nintendo should have just said announcement would be Q1 2025 if they never intended to reveal in 2024…. Either its marketing hype or just vague stubbornness 😂🤷🏻♂️
I hope it's 3 Xmas from now just to annoy all these dum E's that won't shut up about it. They act like Nintendo isn't going to announce it and it will just go on sale. No they'll announce it that's when you make videos about it this ish getting old and boring
No way the Switch 2 comes out in fall with GTA 6 supposed to be released then. It might be two different consumer categories, but gamers will be doing nothing, but GTA for months.
GTA 6 is a massive question block for 2025. Companies are holding back and moving plans for their releases to avoid whenever it is released. Nintendo, though, does not consider themselves in the same market as GTA. They will drop the announcement and system whenever it benefits their bottom line the most. Core Nintendo gamers have a stack of 1st party games and some indies. There is a lot of crossover but Nintendo will still sell out its supply of consoles and games even if the crossover fans only play GTA 6.
Watch DKCR HD release and this month just come and go with no Switch 2 reveal and instead we get an announcement for the February game for Switch 1, which I feel SHOULD be Metroid Prime 2 & 3 dual release...
Yeah I kinda feel Nintendo would be that weird and petty to push the reveal to the end of March or close enough than say in January... but hope I'm wrong.
I got sick of waiting for switch 2 so I settled on a steam deck a year ago. What do I need a switch 2 for? MORE mario kart but in 4k this time? Nahhhhh..
It depends on the person's profile, it comes down to the games, budget and performance expectations. I play on Switch for the exclusives and some indies that run well. The novelty of portability faded, especially with a pretty small screen so PC is a good catch-all for everything else with great Steam deals. With Switch 2 the more generous screen may make the seamless dock/handheld transition appealing again. More importantly while Steam Deck is a great option, for someone like me what it does is already covered by everything else. I appreciate emulation but don't like to spend time to get a game running, I just want an official version that runs well out of the box which Switch 2 should help after so many games struggled on Switch 1. And for PC games, well my PC is just more capable and comfortable.
Because it's disappointing Nintendo not innovating ? = no sales Switch 2 with sale half of the Switch 1 ... Next step for Nintendo is The virtual boy 2 convert all Wii games to VR and AR
Nintendo's internal data tracks user preference directly from the units connected to their servers. This gives them clear results on whether the unit is operating handheld, tabletop (by seeing the state as undocked but with controllers), or docked. The last I heard, tabletop is very low and the remaining split between docked and handheld is close to 50/50 over the lifetime. It fluctuates but there are many who play exclusively in one form or the other and a majority of users who play both styles. They would not be launching a new one that has a dock if their research showed that most people only play handheld.
It seems obvious to me that there will be a final Switch model to be revealed, a 'budget' console that they will retail for something like $150. Maybe a larger switch lite with docking ability. It would not shock me if this is announced before 2

He has a good reason to be in this case.
@@AttunedFlux What's the reason?

Nintendo seems to wait until the absolute last minute to show everything. It's almost like they know when the fever pitch is hitting.
I guess but last minute as defined by what? By the fanbases need to have information that they don't really need? @@just_delightfulfinally someone that gets it. Hello friend 👋
It will hurt them in the long run, people are fed up with Nintendo thinking they can do whatever they want

You can tell that RGT85 doesn’t care lol
Even a Spawncast Mini got announced before the Switch 2. This thing is never coming.
0% chance it lives up to the hype.
@andrew8168 it's just a new switch that will be a little better
Question in video title gets asked at 13:44
14:24 Very good point. I work at a retail store that sells game and 90% of Nintendo customers aren’t even aware that another console is coming
What will we get first? A new GTA6 trailer or a switch 2 announcement.
Gta6, Half life 3, Bloodborne 2 all day one for Nintendo switch 2. Source videogamedunkey
Switch 2 100%
A GTA 6 Release probably.
I’m down for more frequent Spawncast minis! 👍🏼

Nah, I wouldn't call it likely that it will be revealed at the last minute, if that were the case I don't they would have left such a vague window.
Literally every time they leave any vague window, they wait til the last second of that window. You must not have been following Nintendo very long.
@ yes I have and can tell you that they never give Windows for an announcement like this. It's very unusual.

Nintendo has remasters coming out in January and March. Nothing at all in February. The reveal will be in February

I’m not actively waiting for the reveal until febuary tbh. Feel like they’re going to wait a little bit longer before we finally get to see it.
I think the USB-C port could be used for add ons but I think it’s mainly there so someone can easily charge the device while in tabletop mode.
I don’t believe for a second they would add a second UBC-C port just for a little more convenient charging lol, that would be such wasted resources

This is definitely not happening.
