Wolves kill for fun as well. That's why you might hear in the news about conflicts between conservationists and ranchers in the American west. Even if someone had asked me to come up with the most excruciatingly painful way of torture of execution, I would have never come up with something like cutting up someone's abdomen and slowly pulling out their intestines. What the hell.
Don't die as a disbeliever
These videos are so interesting man
I am glad those torture devices and techniques are in the past. They make me shutter
When you shutter do you close everything down or open yourself up to all your feelings?
@@soosquatch4236 He's a 35mm Reflex. The idea of a human camera makes me shudder!

I heard about the rat cage torture for the first time because it was used in Chile under Pinochet. So I guess things haven't changed so much since the Middle Ages.
Boy, that last one was REALLY horrific! 😱
im real glad theres no real media (pics and video) of these horrific methods
Rats are cute but the illnesses they carry are horrifying!!!
Medieval Times were big fun that's for sure!
Nothing is as good or bad as the creativity of humans. God save us!
That one guy said only humans kill for sport but has he ever seen cats?
As it is really horrible to hear about the torture methods in the middle ages- it has been used since then.
Water boarding, and other horrific torture methods even practiced now in certain nations.
Mankind will always be cruel to each other.
Very sad xxx 🙏
Imagine all the innocent who were convicted from false accusations, innocent people back then accuse by corrupt police and then the innocent are sentenced to be tortured like this, today even when we have cameras body cameras innocent people get drugs planted in their car by police, a woman might lie and say you rape her and they sentenced you to be tortured like this in the old days. This whole system back then and today is horrible.
Humanity must be ruled by AI. Humanity is too cruel, and has lost every chance to improve.
@@Trbrigade ai's cruelty will be unbounded due to indifference...
@@Trbrigade that is so incredibly stupid im sorry, you a fed or something?
@AnikaHope-gd6xuwho's that?
The most revolting creatures ever to walk upon the Earth - human beings! They are capable of the most gruesome cruelty, which they can inflict without a moment's hesitation and without even the slightest remorse. I am ashamed to be counted as human.
How creative we once were.......Truly we are the worst creatures ever to live on this planet.
Fascinating! The level of cruelty, horror, and suffering inflicted on humans is ghastly and horrible! Cheers!
love ur vids
“The more I get to know people, the more I love ❤️ my dog.” - Mark Twain
A lot of people dont realise how evil the Ottomans were.
Ahh I see the “pear of anguish” was adapted for gynecology
Lol didn’t realise they had smear tests in the Middle Ages 😂
Mi paso por las tecnicas forences me demostró que estos episodios medievales quedaron ampliamente superados
Obviously another great video but am I the only one who really missed the trademark "cheers" at the end??? It's one of my favorite parts of every video!
They have a Spanish horse outside the old dungeon prison museum in Gävle Sweden.
Visitors are allowed to climb up and sit on it...
Just a fraction of time on it was extremely uncomfortable. After a few minutes it must be hell.
4:46 funny thing about that, in one of his lectures on the medievel period by Philip Daileader, confession under torture was not legally admissible in court, even back then. However, if you had confessed under torture and later recanted your confession, you would simply be tortured again lol
What was the point then?! 😭
Hilarious
@@barbieblues7639 I guess it gave lawyers the satisfaction that they are making at least some semblance of fairness. The lecture was specifically on the inquisition btw
The Spanish Donkey was used on Confederate POWs, where it was known as "Morgan's Mule", for even the slightest breaking of camp rules. Heavy weights were added to the feet and the POW was forced to sit on the mule for two hours every day for a few days under threat of an armed guard, until he fell off from pain and exhaustion. The POW was often made to hold two large bones, one in each hand, to prevent him from using his hands to lessen his agony.
Very few were able to walk after the hellish experience, some POWs were crippled for life by it.
That saw torture picture was on the wall in my history class!
I would love for you to cover the bronze bull as well!
I remember that one
It's amazing how much torture was performed in the name of religion.
Humans are wicked creatures.
The pair of anguish was also used elsewhere in the body. Any orifice will suffice.
How far has mankind come when you have people being tortured even today? Our species is never far from barbarism.
Another great video, showing the cruelty our civilisation was capable off. Also does anyone know the name of the music track starting at 7:00?
Ohhh here we go again..... Down a grisly path ~ I'm sure ill find it interesting though, so thx for the vid 💋
That last one is just insane
There were several methods of torturing with vast amount of liquid, invented by various countries. The fear and disgust in victims were universal
Mans inhumanity to man.
Unbelievable what happened and is still happening.
I imagine the Pear of Anguish would have many applications given the wide selection of orifices the human body presents
The first thing I said was it looks like something my gyno would use 😂
Just fyi: orkas, dolphins, and house cats kill for fun. Pretty sure octopi do as well. So humans aren’t the only ones
Wolves kill for fun as well. That's why you might hear in the news about conflicts between conservationists and ranchers in the American west. A pack of wolves might only eat one sheep, but they'll kill the rest of the flock just for fun. Predatory animals in general probably get some kind of dopamine rush from killing.
The difference is, a cat doesn't have the mental capacity to look back on it's actions and determine right from wrong. Plus there is no proof that any of those animals didn't kill out of anything except pure instinct.
@@DG-iw3yw Animals do stuff for fun all the time. There was a recent experiment with bumblebee that proved even they do stuff just for fun. Look up "bumblebees playing with balls." So, if even insects like playing and having fun, then of course higher level animals like mammals would, too. I'm no biologist, but I'm sure predatory animals would have evolved to find killing prey fun. A predator who enjoys killing would be a more successful hunter, and would be more likely to survive and pass on its genes.
octopuses (anglicised) or octopodes (original plural - Greek) - no such word as octopi as octopus was never a Latin word.
@@chancewatkins5071 go watch a video of orkas slapping seals dozens of feet out of the water and then leaving it alone after a while. It wasn’t predation. These are highly intelligent animals that understand entertainment
Human history is the most horrifying thing ever, no horror movie will ever top that
Dear lord these are horrifying.
I wish the people who say that humanity has become more evil would see this. At least we don't spin out intestines as public entertainment anymore.
All these techniques would provide plus 10 public order to the settlement, and -10 banditry
I think these should be applied to our government. Lol.
THE LAST ONE IS SO AWESOME
We can always bring these techniques back any time we want.
Stuff like this can and does still happen to people.
Russians do it
North Korea type shit
Dark web stuff...
And naturally, as in every case, it was the established authorities that inflicted the punishments.
Any time I've thought I heard of the worst possible tortures and execution methods, I am privy to hearing about another horrifically creative account.
Love your videos and your amazing narrative skills and voice, but it doesn't take long for one to be sickened by Mankind, then and now.
Well I will say that the quote in the beginning is exactly accurate. As well as man the chimpanzee has also been confirmed to kill for the joy of it. Who take great pleasure in maiming and killing their enemies in particularly gruesome ways. The house cat also is known for killing simply out of boredom.
"More Medieval Torture Devices & Techniques that You’ll be Grateful Are in the Past..." sounds very much like a threat
Seems like some good times ! 😀👍
I knew about the other ones first time hearing about the last one
I would take anything mentioned here over being strapped to a chair and watching THE VIEW
The catholic church has a lot to answer for
None of this cruelty or torture was authorized by the catholic church, but by of the rulers of the catholic countries (especially Spain) that took matters into their own hands to such extents that was not authorized by the church. You need to look up history and not blindly believe whatever you hear on the internet.
@@nishantharanha315 BS. I've been studying theology my whole ife. The popes were directly responsible for these crusades. The pope is still directly responsible for millions of deaths each year. Every one knows that the way to lift people out of poverty is education and giving women control of their reproduction abilities. The church would rather catholic africa dies of aids then wear a comdom. The church is not interested in people, it's only interested in its own ideology.
No, the church is very responsible for atrocities worldwide. Stop shilling for the church zealot.
the Intestinal Crank made for a banger of a cannibal corpse track though
That last one.... whew😮💨😮💨
James clearly never lived with cats
10:46 These may be methods of the past but we have modern torture methods that may be less gory but at least as difficult on the mind.
The intestine crank really freaked me out
Thx, love these before sleep, I pretend im dead
Anyone remember when the serial killer used "the intestinal crank" in the movie "the cell?"
I was impressed to know that the Philips head screw existed 500+ years before we once thought…
The heretic fork would be great for correcting bad posture created by watching mediaeval torture movies on your phone.
We are a creative lot, aren't we?
The Heretic's fork was used in an episode of "the blacklist" on dembe lol.
