- Rusty Magazine for WW2 German Machine Gun MG42 Restoration. I found this rusted magazine for a machine gun in a WWII German position. The magazine for the machine gun was very rusty and I understood that a lot of metal had been lost. But I decided to restore the magazine for the machine gun. I removed the rust and preserved the old iron. Now that's an interesting historical entourage thing. I hope you liked my restoration.

I totally agree.
They're digging up thousands of these at the Stalingrad battlefields as we speak. Many are in much better shape and more deserving of restoration...imho! This seems like a waste of time and resources.

Can you explain me why sometimes you use vinegar and other times you use citric acid or oxalic acid?
Oxalic acid preserves paint and removes rust. Vinegar or citric acid does not matter. You can simply make more concentrated citric acid

Great work. I have a few questions. Rust converter. And that other chemical you used to evaporust I think it is called? They sound the same to me. Anyway. I am also wondering how you could not solder it? To weak I figure.

Hi! In this video I used 9% vinegar, rust converter, degreaser, cold bluing and silicone lubricant.

When do you use soda or salt?
In electrolysis soda is better than salt because of the danger of chlorine gas, but to attack the rust with vinegar salt speeds the reaction
