@Retrovirus I agree to an extent. I am normally a turn the gain down guy as well. However, he managed to pull it off without the notes sounding too mushy. His technique is insane, so he can get away with it without sounding like he's using gain to mask poor technique. It's a good tone, just not what you and I would go for. Give me a good ole 5150/6505/etc cranked to a stupid volume level with a modest amount of gain for that chunky, abrupt and mid heavy tone that makes your sound guy drink heavily.
