I loved hearing Yvette speak! Her philosophy and appreciation of pens was inspiring, relatable, and compelling. I rarely comment on videos but feel a duty to share just how much of a pleasure it was listening to her, I will watch every video she appears in from beginning to end! I sincerely hope she visits again 🙂
I love them, I like learning about new people, their background and their pen journey. The vids are well edited and you allow the interviewee to talk without interruption.
The online fountain pen community needs more of these collector interviews. These are people who usually don’t find themselves in front of a camera, but really should. Thank you
I’ve been watching the Collectors Talks but this is by far my favorite. Yvette has a beautiful collection but also puts so much thought into that triangle to make every pen perfect. I loved and wrote down her feeling that ideas are hidden in her pens and she has to write with them for the ideas to emerge. Wonderful talk.
I love that she didn't forget a simple GvFC. There is nothing more classic than the original castle cap. She has a beautiful collection. Very well curated and thought out.
I put off watching this for the longest time, glad I finally took the time. Amazing collection and I like her mindset on pens and collecting. Like her, I am a pen user, not a pen collector. I would like to say I have a growing collection but I have growing users.
I agree with Frau Korber on some points, hitting the meta elements in my FP journey. The five elements are pen, ink, paper, ideas, and the mind. The last two get overlooked and are the hardest to pin down, and they serve as the value of the pursuit of the fountain pen hobby. It's not about investments, not about fads. It's the inspiration, emotions and ideas that result from the pen, ink, and paper combinations in our pages. Thanks to Yvette & Samuel that have unlocked this Eureka moment for me.
What she have said, resonates with me. All my pens are inked and used and, because of that, I am not collector but an amateur. I use my pens according my mood but it is true that some pens are too loud but you keep them into your office. But some pens are a good way to start a conversation. My collection is mainly Montblanc because the symbolic used by the creators is always interesting and sometimes inspiring. They tell you a story. This lady is a true amateur in a noble sense, pens, inks and papers: First the pens but very quickly the two other components are becoming important to formalise your thoughts and cast them in stone. Sorry I can not stop from noting it, but the funny thing in this interview is when Yvette Korber said that her collection is mainly black or silver…so Swiss…like most of the cars there! This is why also Montblanc is breaking few codes. 😊
Samuel, thanks for this. Please pass along also my thanks to Yvette Korber. She appears to be a very smart and impressive woman. I enjoyed hearing her perspective. I like that she has everything tuned for her - it's not even a question. (I get around this by tuning everything myself - it makes me happy with all my pens.) Her point that the creativity is in the pen waiting to come out was exquisite. Keep doing the Collector's series. Always great stuff to learn.
I've ney heard a better reason for using a fountain pen, then, "the idea is hidden within the pen" I often just pick up a pen and write stream of consciousness, it’s amazing what comes out if you just let the pen go. Thank you for your content.
Very inspirational talk! And I sooooo agree with her on no such thing as feedback...just smooth or sharp *high five* Thank you so much Yvette and Samuel. 🙏
Beautiful collection! Really inspiring Sam. Keep ‘em man. My condolences on the passing of your mother. I’m a new subscriber and thought I’d pay my condolences.
Such great content… For those who want to collect, knock yourself out… I am extremely interested in the users… What, how, why… That’s what makes ,for me, fountain pens, so interesting - awesome video…
Samuel can you discuss filling fountain pens. I have found that pouring some ink into a shot glass and filling the pen from it makes no mess compared to filling directly from a partially filled bottle.
I find that as the amount of ink in the ink bottle gets used up it is harder to position the pen for drawing in new ink since it is hard to see where your pen is in relation to the ink. A small clear shot glass gives visibility and helps avoid dipping your pen too far into the ink. Pour a small amount of ink into a shot glass and try it. Once your pen is filled pour the remainder back rinse the shot glass and no mess.
I have to agree with Frau Körber on the issue of "feedback". To me as well it's just scratchiness, which I detest. IMHO the best combination is an ST Dupont with Diamine ink.
I still don’t agree 🤣 - there are scratchy pens, and there are pens that give a feedback, and there are butter smooth pens (which i personally really really can’t use)
This was such a wonderful interview. Yvette has the most beautiful relationship with her pens and was able to articulate this magic. I loved the “triangle” which is absolutely how I feel about my own writing experience but I have not heard it described like that before. I also loved how she talked about pens as a “grounding” tool to bring you back to the present moment. Our relationship with our pens can be so much deeper than first appearances. I was smiling throughout the entire conversation! Thank you so much!! 😀😀❤️❤️
How did you like this Collector Talk? Looking forward to more?
Alot more!

Totally agree. Loved doing this talk! 🙏🏼
I just love this interview. I like to see what “collectors” think or feel about their pens and I like her a lot. Thanks for this interview.

Sitting in front of one of the most impressive pen collections I've ever seen: "I don't know if I'm a pen collector." LOL.
Haha - but she had an interesting point. She’s an user - not a collector.

I really enjoy these interviews with collectors
Really glad to know - indeed more coming.
Lovely conversation! Inspiring and insightful.
Thanks for your feedback 🙏🏼
I loved the Conversation and It was really entertaining. I am very looking forward to more and more! ❤
Very glad to hear! 🙏🏼
Collections have themes, and Yvette's theme is that she inks and uses every pen 🖊 😊 Excellent talk!
hahah, so true! glad you enjoyed this!

Thank you Nelson!
A very interesting discussion. Thank you.
Thank you so much 🙏🏼
Very inspirational talk! And I sooooo agree with her on no such thing as feedback...just smooth or sharp *high five* Thank you so much Yvette and Samuel. 🙏
Smooth or sharp, i like that. Thanks for your kind words 🙏🏼
Great interview. I do think there’s definitely a distinction between feedback and scratchiness though 😊
🙏🏼 agree on that
Was eagerly waiting for this 😊
❤
She is right about the Tomoe River paper it’s the best. Very interesting conversation. Thanks!
💪🏼👍🏻
Beautiful collection! Really inspiring Sam. Keep ‘em man. My condolences on the passing of your mother. I’m a new subscriber and thought I’d pay my condolences.
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Musicians say the same thing: My piano is filled with some good music, I just have to bang on it until it falls out. 🙂
Love it! ❤️
Incredible collection!!!!

Can you please provide a list of the pens on this video?
I'm amazed with the MB Solitaire Martele Sterling Silver. Last time I`ve checked, there were two still available in Brazilian MB retailers.
Hi Emanuel, go get it fast!
Wonderful video Sam! Can‘t wait to meet Yvette soon at the Maki-e days! 🖋️ 🇯🇵
Thanks Philipp! 🙏🏼
Lovely chat! Very interesting conversation!
Thank you much for your feedback 🙏🏼
5:18 what pen is this
Sailor Wabi Sabi II in Blue

That is very interesting but have the feeling it can potentially cause more mess than just filling it up from the ink bottle.

35:40 Oooh, this Otto Hutt 08 looks better then on a still photograph.
❤
Loved her!!
Very glad you liked it! 🙏🏼
I love hearing from female collectors
100% 🙏🏼
We need a shop like yours in Australia!
Which brand is it the tomoe river notepad?
Hello Samuel, I just saw the Montblanc martèle in the boutique, new, it’s the last piece, shall I get it? It’s quite expensive.
Get it!
A very interesting and educational talk. Thank you! What is the name of the blue note book?
Agreed, and I have the same question.
It’s a Smythson Notebook. 🙏🏼
@@SamuelNaldi Thank you. That is a brand that we do not know here in Norway...
8:33 thats the true meaning of a grail pen

Excellent interview, but WHO is Andreas? Are those in the fountain pen community automatically in the know? Is Andreas a name we should all know?
We mentioned at the beginning that she buys from Style of Zug and Landolt-Arbenz, Andreas is the owner of Landolt-Arbenz.
Super entrevista me encantó gran invitada que linda colección woawww saludos
Gracias ❤

Thank you so much for your comment!
I have about 40-50 pens (mostly cheapie) so even tho i agree with her i cant ink all my pen at the same time
👏🏽
🙏🏼
That’s clever: account ur pen collection as production costs for ur business and get some tax write off 😂
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
