Thank you Anders for this video. It was very helpful :) The only issue I had when running the flow, it did not like the birthday column on the spreadsheet as a date so I made it a text column and the flow ran without issues.

I am looking for a way to create a tool which automatically takes employees' information from our company's intranet (which is SharePoint-based) and inserts the data into table cells in a Word template in order to build what we call a team sheet. Let's say that I want to create a team sheet listing two employees: Mary Jones and John Smith. Mary and John have their separate pages on our intranet which contain their photos, names, job titles, phone numbers and email addresses. Is there any way I can get the tool to locate Mary's page on the intranet, insert her photo into one table cell, insert Mary's name, job title, telephone number, cell phone number and email address into the next cell, then do the same for John? Would love if you could do a video on how to rename files based on their content (especially word docs and PDFs)! I know how to do this with AHK but many managed devices provided by employers hate open source software, so MS Power Automate is the go-to. Even just how to batch rename things (like add the date, or remove the word "Draft") would be so useful! Love your videos!

Hey Dion. Great idea/question. I will definitely do so. I plan to do a "complete" Power Automate and Power Automate Desktop course. Either a big (around 10 hours) or divided into smaller pieces and collected in a playlist. The latter would be the easiest to make, but the other would be more popular. This is an excellent tutorial... however, I followed it precisely and could not get an email. The test and the live run went successfully so I was suspicious that the condition was not being met. After digging through the details of the flow run results, it in fact showed that the condition was false. I am wondering if the date/date serial number or something is the cause? I know you can't see my flow, but do you think this is the problem?
I changed the birthday in the Excel file to be a text string and it worked. So I will play around with the flow now to get the condition to work with the date serial numbers!

Highly yes, if you have some "other" skill like documenting, interacting with people, understanding/optimizing processes etc. If you don't have any of these as well as no programming skills, you're behind and need to work. But since it's such a new area, the demand for RPA developers are huge. And "too" huge tbh. Tried this a couple of times and it just doesn't run with company workflows. Not sure is it an Outlook thing. Might swap over to Gmail flow to Outlook address.

Sure, you can test your flow and then in the log access the outputs

Hi Anders. You are recommending a book called "Workflow Automation with Microsoft Power Automate". It is 1 year old. Is it still the best choice and up-to-date?? I trust a lot has happened with Power Automate the last year.
Hey Ole. Great question. Yes, it's the best (and only choice), and although a lot has happened (mainly Power Automate Desktop), it's up-to-date. Had the same issue: I changed the date format to: mm/dd/yyyy and then it worked out fine
This is an excellent tutorial... however, I followed it precisely and could not get an email. The test and the live run went successfully so I was suspicious that the condition was not being met. After digging through the details of the flow run results, it in fact showed that the condition was false. I am wondering if the date/date serial number or something is the cause? I know you can't see my flow, but do you think this is the problem?
I changed the birthday in the Excel file to be a text string and it worked. So I will play around with the flow now to get the condition to work with the date serial numbers!

Hey Michael. Yes and no. Highly yes, if you have some "other" skill like documenting, interacting with people, understanding/optimizing processes etc. If you don't have any of these as well as no programming skills, you're behind and need to work. But since it's such a new area, the demand for RPA developers are huge. And "too" huge tbh. What about if original time is in ISO8601 so format is yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm:ssZ ... when i split and concatenate to just get yyyy-MM-dd ... my [2] part will take everything (including) after dd

Tried this a couple of times and it just doesn't run with company workflows. Not sure is it an Outlook thing. Might swap over to Gmail flow to Outlook address.
