I love using sand, especially for bigger pieces that use a lot of resin cuz it saves a lot of resin! I like using epsom salts, too, though it can be pretty rough on silicone molds😅
I have started making jewelry by watching you , so it is always great fun watching what you come up with. At times I think oh how will this work and than ta ta you made art .
I use sand quite a bit in some of my small pendants, because it does lovely with keeping the glitter even through the resin, so it doesn't all sink to the bottom. I love it. It is really, really thick though, and sometimes makes it a little tougher to sand and polish.
Love it! Adding the colorant to the sand was a great idea; those came out particularly nice. I'd love to dive down that rabbit hole for a bit and see what else would work with the sand.
Love your pendants! I agree with you, my favorites were the ones with the hint of color. I think some white ones are nice. But I was thinking of putting a small tattoo or sticker on it, and then top coat it with UV resin.
WOW!! Such a beautiful white color! I have got to try this.... Don't know what I will make as I have my next pouring already set. Not getting to do as much as I want to due to some health issues, however, the good news is that things are looking better now. Should be back to full swing by the end of September( at least that's what the doctors say????...). I have been enjoying your videos so much while I've not been able to do a lot. Love seeing all the pretty things you've made. Thanks for being you and being so creative. Stay safe, you do you,and stay creatively crafty👍👍🔔🔔🦋🦋
I am so excited! I have crafts sand and I was trying to figure out what I can use it with. This is so awesome! I’m gonna try using food coloring to color the sand and see if that works as well. It looks so beautiful with the white and marbling!
These look lovely ! It would probably be easier to get the extra resin off the sides with a file so the straight edges come out smooth and straight. Great idea !
These are fun to make. I’ve made these types of things into pendants as well. These ideas are great but I find that when I have to pay 75 or $100 for a craft fair booth and sit all day, people don’t want to spend the money on the higher priced items l- they will pay for smaller items like this. In the end, I am still left with feeling stressed out that I didn’t sell enough to make the money back for my booth. Plus, I live in Phoenix Arizona where in the November craft fair, I went to, the sun creep down to my booth, and my items made of full resin became bendy. To solve that I started making items that had wood bases however, those cost more and people don’t seem to want to spend more than $20 on some thing like a set of five coasters. Sadly, I am moving on to just doing resin for my own liking as gifts for others and custom orders.
Is your thumb okay. I noticed that it looked like the resin cut your thumb when you were deburring. I really enjoy your videos. They give me all kinds of inspiration for my own crafts.
Those items came out really nicely. I really liked the pot with lid made with the sand. You mentioned marble affects, you know you might get a marble effect if, once you've mixed all the sand into the resin, you then put some of the ink in, but only give it a very brief stir before you pour it. I think it might give you the marble affect you are looking for. Just a thought anyway. I learn so much from watching your channel Steve. Thanks for all the cool videos. God bless you and those you love. Have a great day!
This is the first video I’ve watched for a while been in a dark place last couple months Enjoyed the video nice to see you do these beautiful white prefer them but that’s me I haven’t forgot your box it’s here ready to post Time to catch up nd watched what I missed on both channels
Wow how did I miss this! 😳 I make it a ritual to check both of your channels regularly. But never saw this one and only learnt about it because of the link! So thank you Steve for that!
Love these, i’m new to the resin game, so just building my moulds and things up, but I may give this a try. Could you put a fine glitter in with the sand, with just the white ones, to give a bit of shimmer to it? x
I love sand so I have put sand in my resin a few times. Great Video. I have not thought about coloring like that. I'm going to try it. I think maybe I would dome those whiteones with the tiniest bit of see through resin colorant. I bet that would be really pretty.
This is a great idea and they turned out beautifully! I am just trying the temporary tattoos on a few pieces, but haven't finished them yet. Love, love everything you do! Thank you Steve 😊!!!
I just love this idea, actually 2 ideas I lover here. First the brilliant, lovely white, so beautiful sn second, the molds that fit flat buck bezels. I didnt know such were available!! I want some but the link doesnt take me to them in USA. Can anyone help me find molds and bezels that fit together? I just cant seem to pour resin into molds, open or closed back without spillage, seepage etc. And I have watched and tried Steve's methods.
Question... I heard if you put resin in the refrigerator after putting it in a mold that will reduce bubbles is this true? Have you heard of this before? Maybe you could make a video bout it an see what happens I would love to see this!
Those turned out so pretty! I wonder if it would have a different look if you did a thinner layer of white sand resin, then added the color how you did here, but then add more of the sand resin to push the color down more? I also wonder how it would look if you added a coarser sand of a different color either to the fine sand resin, or after you pour the fine sand resin to see if some of the coarser sand sinks to the bottom of the mold?
I just found your channel a few weeks ago and I can't stop binge watching you. You are such a joy to watch and I love your honesty and creative side. Because of your videos I'm going to try my hand at resin. I just ordered a few things the first being my PPE and a few coaster molds. But i'm not sure what heat resistant resin to get for the coasters. I live in the USA would you have any suggestions on what one would be the best for the coasters and beginner friendly as well?
They turned out great! I was just wondering, what would happen if you poured a bit of coloured resin to the bottom and then drop some of the goopy sand-mix in it? I think the coloured resin stayed pretty much at the top because it's thinner than the sand mixture. 🤔
Hi Steve. Your ideas and suggestions are great. I'm just starting with resin molds. The only thing I'm really having a problem with the is the little bottles of liquid pigment colors. They are so strong. Can I mix it with a bit of water :( I can see your face in my head. NOOOO. What can I use to thin it down a bit so that the color doesn't take over the background. Many thanks. Cherrie from South Africa.
Hi there . I’ve tried to find you on another platform, because I need to send you message that might be embarrassing about two of your videos I’ve watched recently. H
Not following your own advice steve. tut tut. Your sleeves should completely cover your arms, preferably with the cuffs being tucked into the gloves. Safety first Steve especially as you’re so allergic. Just thinking about your safety xx
The grey square looks like a dove flying up
You never fail to make me giggle while giving me inspiration for resin ideas. I appreciate your work, Steve 😊
Love how you're always coming up with new experiments and thinking outside the box!

Love this. You can put temporary tattoos on those white pieces, it is lovely. Love my deburring tool too.
Sand works great for beach coasters and art in general. Any. O
Color of sand. I love it
Just now watching this. The all white pieces were pretty.
Your silliness makes me giggle!!🤪

Love how these turned out - Tyvm for sharing this with us
So creative with the sand n resin mix
It's resembles porcelain a bit. Never used this much sand, will have to give it a try. 💞
I like the barely there coloring they had❣️
You are awesome Steve, I so enjoy your videos.
Love this ! Also very grateful that you do these experiments for us!
The marbled effect is great, love it! 💖
They are beautiful Steve. Great idea.
Love it! Adding the colorant to the sand was a great idea; those came out particularly nice. I'd love to dive down that rabbit hole for a bit and see what else would work with the sand.
Another interesting resin project. Thank you!

Love the final effect on the jewellery. Great video Steve. 💕
That's pretty cool! I like the just a hint of color. The white ones are really nice as well. Love them!

Love this!! I am definitely going to do some!🥰
Love the marble effects 😍
First time viewing this channel. I am happy I did! Beautiful work, and yes I did subscribe!!
Beautiful and unusual!
Love those pendants
These turned out really good, I just bought some sand from the Dollar tree and got a few different colors can’t wait to test this out!!

Time to catch up nd watched what I missed on both channels
I’m sorry to hear that! 🥺 Sending you lots of good thoughts and a virtual hug! 🤗🤍🤗
Do you prefer the Teexpert resin over the JDiction resin?
Fabulous as always x
Can't wait to try it thanks
I like them alot
Wow how did I miss this! 😳 I make it a ritual to check both of your channels regularly. But never saw this one and only learnt about it because of the link! So thank you Steve for that!
I bet the sand ones would be lovely with Colour shift chameleon mixed in at the end like a Pearl or Opal

I like the sand method
This is great and on Q , I just watched how pyramids were made . They used crushed stone and sand with a resin substance and a mold . Ha!
I love all of them thank you
This is a great idea and they turned out beautifully! I am just trying the temporary tattoos on a few pieces, but haven't finished them yet. Love, love everything you do! Thank you Steve 😊!!!
Did the sand affect the curing time of the resin at all?
Love them all ❤️
In the container perhaps do some faux marble ..just an idea
Ooh with the right glitter,or holographic glitter,ir would resemble opal,or mother of pearl
I think your videos are great and I have learned so much, it would be great if you could tell us how much we could sell them for.

Steve these are great and I was so excited to see my name on the coffee board but there is no E in my Juli...
Looks great 👍🏾
Thanks for sharing
You could try putting the color on the mold first then right away or the white in. Hum, I wonder?
Thanks!
Love these! Love your videos, thank you ❤️

Your thumb, ow. But these came out really neat.
Does the sand cause micro scratches on the mold?
Good question

Interesting thee pendants look like a type of stone

Love them
I've done sand with resin. The first time, I realized that the sand sunk to the bottom. So then I just did it layer by layer. Mine was a large piece.
i have done it. it settles and it gives a two-tone look.
I love how they look like they're marbled
Love it, but does anyone else think the resin with the white sand in looks very much like semolina?
❤️❤️❤️
Hi there . I’ve tried to find you on another platform, because I need to send you message that might be embarrassing about two of your videos I’ve watched recently. H
I love them, they came out nice. The plain white one makes me want to put a rub on on it. Or a water slide.
It looks like semolina and jam before it sets
Why didn’t you just pour it into the bezels .
Pas de traduction en français.... ça ne fonctionne pas .....dommage .... 😪
