Exactly my reaction. The Sabbath was literally a part of creation and preceded even the Israelites keeping of it. Moreover, we saw Jesus dealing with the issue of the Sabbath when he was accused of breaking it when he healed on it. Additional, the Bible said that was Jesus’s practice to be in the temple on the Sabbath. Even on the day of his crucifixion, we saw where Mary and others were doing Sabbath preparation. As for the Lord’s day being the new Sabbath, how can that be when the act of making something holy and sanctified is the work of God?
