Honestly, and I think it’s the same scene, but “why don’t you shut up.” Was also so freaking good. It was both out of nowhere and also a loooong time coming but hit me like a slap in the face.
That "what do you want me to tell your family?" line is the rawest thing I've heard in dimension 20 and I love watching everyone's reactions immediately after.
almost one year ago (12/23/22), i first saw the “what do you want me to tell your family?” snippet. it was the first Dimension 20 short that so vehemently seized my attention that i simply had to go look up what it was from…i ended up subscribing to dropout and “Misfits & Magic” became merely the first of many D20 series that i adore lmao
Same! And it was in a video that had a collection of snippets that has unfortunately been deleted since :( I'm glad to see other videos posted with it to hopefully draw in more people the way it hooked me
Aabria not only not letting Brennan role intimidate, but also not just having that opposing duelest concede on the spot was a crime. That was some raw power behind those words.
Any good DM knows that a charisma check is just like any other check in the game. It might have impossible AC. You wouldn't let a player talk their way into a character lifting something heavier than they can. Why would you let them talk out a charisma check? Roleplay is there for flavor, mechanics need to be respected
@@Xenomorphin1 L reply, literally both DMs in this clip would and have disagreed with that opinion. Mechanics are only useful so long as they enable the fun of playing the game, to be thrown away when they no longer serve the fun of all of those involved. Point in case: all of the other times a charisma role was stated to not be required, for the specific reason that the player authentically gave a speech that was a nat 20, by this gang. Edit: Not to say that there shouldn't be impossible DCs, because allowing your players to do anything so long as they role for it would definitively detract from the fun of the game as well. A hard line rule that all mechanics need to be respected at all times is just silly and boring though.
Also they're not playing dnd?? They're playing kids on brooms, idk. And too, it's a duel, it has to be, it's part of the tournament. It'd be sad to lose what followed that line: an expression of Evan's raw power, which is what the tournament is about. Everyone is right when they say that line was cool as hell though
Takes off coat (romantic)
Takes off coat (menacing)
"you will never know a lonely day again" and "what do you want me to tell your family" are the two best examples of Brennan's prowess as a player
“If you were really strong, you could be sad when bad things happen” is on the list now too.
@@heatherslutzky What line is that from? It's amazing.

it’s always “i love you” and it’s never “you said you felt alone - never here, not while I draw breath”
You will never know a lonely day again….that is it for me.
Aabria nerfing Brennan in Burrow’s End by taking away his ability to have a jacket

FOR PRESTIGE?!?!
Aabriyah's jaw drop makes me laugh every time.
I mean. He really gave him a lot of off ramps.
No, he really did. So many off ramps. Even told him he didn’t know what would happen.
Like the kindest thing he could ever do.
Aabria dming really does bring out the best character raw lines in Brennan
When the coat falls, so do those fucking good lines
The duality of Brennan
“For prestige?!?!”
"PEOPLE CARE ABOUT YOU!"
Aabria does know how to push Brennan's buttons and my god he doesn't hold back when she does.

The most heartfelt pledge of loyalty and love... vs the rawest threat and promise of destruction.

I for sure thought the second scene was going to be KP putting on his sparring pants.
These are both hot in very different ways
A court of flowers got a whole season and Mystery and Magic only got 4 episodes. Tragic.
