The Beatles with Billy Preston was superb..he would’ve made a great addition as an official member of they continued into the 70s

Get back Loretta! One of my mother's sisters is named Loretta and my dad used to draw out the "Get back, Loretta" line to tease her with back when I was a kid and this song was still new. The recent Peter Jackson film revisiting The Beatles final year is called "Get Back" in large part because the footage it uses traces the writing of the song from its inception to its delivery at the rooftop concert. The film shows Paul McCartney goofing around in the studio making up riffs and throwing out silly lyrics and talking about things he saw on television the night before, primarily a racist man yelling at foreigners to go back to where they came from and a cowboy western of some sort, probably Gunsmoke, and in the middle of all that the song begins to take shape.

What a fun memory! It’s amazing how songs like Get Back can carry such personal connections. The story behind the song’s creation is fascinating too-Paul’s spontaneous creativity and the way the song evolved in the studio is such a beautiful glimpse into The Beatles’ genius. Thanks for sharing your story with us! 💖

aside from the music, which is always good,it's a pleasure to see you enjoying yourselves. I've been listening to music/ the Beatles since the 1950s. it never gets old.

Another "banger" by The Beatles! There is a comment below that the LIVE rooftop performance is no longer available, but that is not true! It is still available and I highly recommend it. You can see Billy Preston playing the keyboards,(although it's very brief). ☮☮

Thanks for the heads-up about the rooftop performance-we’ll definitely check it out. Billy Preston’s magic is always a treat to see! 💖

Lyrically you can look at this song on two levels. 1.) Paul as a storyteller. His style is he often tells a story about fictitious characters. This song is an excellent example. He's telling a story about these characters he's making up in this song. Your guess is as good as mine as to the meaning of the story. Suffice to say, the lyrics are filled with lots of little inside jokes, such as "Jo-Jo left his home in Tucson, Arizona, for some California grass"-"grass" being a slang for marijuana.
2.) On another level, the original name of this album the Beatles was called "Get Back", and it referred to the fact that the Beatles music had become so complicated over the years with all of the studio tricks and techniques that they had gotten away from their rock and roll roots. The idea was to record an album live with no overdubs or studio tricks, to "get back" to the Beatles rock and roll roots. In that sense, you and Peter were right on the money with the meaning of "Get Back"!
    Great program guys! Loved it!

Thank you so much for breaking it down so beautifully! We appreciate the insight into Paul's storytelling and the band's intention to return to their rock and roll roots what an incredible journey for the Beatles! We're happy you enjoyed the program. Nico & Vinz For 2025 please 😁😁😁

@@vp8reacts oh yes! LOTS more Nico and Vinz to come! Thank you so much for being open to them! They probably will never get the attention they deserve, but you guys make up for that with your wonderful programs of them!!!

@@vp8reacts so I want to run this one by you. It's an interview with Nico and Vinz by Valerie Morehouse, the vocal trainer who worked with Nico and Vinz to help them transition from being rappers to full fledged vocalists and singers in the beautiful singing style that we all know them by now. The program is called "Lip Roll" with Valerie Morehouse.
It's an amazing program, because this is their musical "teacher", if you will, that is conducting the interview. You'll learn a lot about them, where they came from, and how far they've come since then by watching this program. Now the whole program is 1 hour and 9 minutes long, but we really don't want to watch the whole program. What I would suggest, if you are open to it, is simply to play the first 14 minutes and 39 seconds of this program. It will tell you all you need to know. When you are editing your reaction to the program, you will just need to remember to stop the program at 14 minutes 39 seconds.
What do you think? If you are open to this, I will be happy to send that one over to you.
As well, there's a series on "Nico and Vinz On Tour 2017" which shows scenes from these amazing concerts where the people of Norway are going absolutely crazy over these guys. Plus there are songs on this series that are only on these programs, and not on any of their other albums or singles releases. The first installment is three episodes-I believe it runs 15 minutes. But it's Nico and Vinz at their best in their home country! Happy to send you this one over as well. Give it some thought on both programs and let me know what you think!
In the meantime, I am going to send you over a couple of Nico and Vinz tracks to keep the Nico and Vinz train rolling! Stay tuned!!!

@@DJBilodeau That all sounds absolutely incredible! We're happy about the opportunity to learn more about Nico and Vinz's journey, especially through such a meaningful program with Valerie Morehouse. We'd love to hear more about their growth as artists. 😊
Feel free to send these gems our way ; we’ll be waiting eagerly! Thank you for keeping the Nico and Vinz love alive.

Such a shame, guys! They took down the Beatles official video showing the Beatles performing in the studio live with Billy Preston-what a shame! Hopefully you can get a sense of it from this recording when Billy's bright and perky electric piano solo comes in-fits in perfectly with the rest of the song!

We’ll do our best to appreciate Billy Preston’s electric piano magic from this recording. His contribution truly elevates the song, and it's always a joy to revisit such iconic moments. Thank you for sharing❤️❤️❤️
