I prefer the IKEA $80 extra firm mattress for comfort. It fits perfectly and I remove it when not in use, and Amazon and temu have an amazing selection of sheets, blankets, and pillows to fit perfectly.
I put memory foam in back my suv. We drive 4hr plus Fridays to backpack up a mountain on the weekends here in bc canada. Leave right after work and arrive in the dark. So we just hit the back seat and trail in the morning. Sleep the next night on the mountain
The cool thing is that this accessory also works for people who live in their cars. This is very common in the USA and the number of these people is only increasing
The Atto3 can fit an airmattress as well as electric blanket, lighting and cooking hotplate using V2L. Alternatively you can leave aircon and ventilation on, it consumes about 1KW. Plenty of juice for a weekend campout. Very nice.

Someone as tall as 6'7" (2 metres) can lay flat in a Tesla M3, just need to move the front seats forward. Some businesses sell special mattresses for them. They need support arms that hold the mattress up in the rear seat footwell area (holds up the bed-head/pillow area).
Need a drop in cooler for that space in the trunk, below the bumper. It should be easily removable so that it can be placed on the front seat when the bed is out. The accessories are actually very reasonably priced. I think a bug net/privacy screen is the next option they should consider.
I like to sleep in Perl (2023 MY) on long trips, sometimes even when I’ve rented a cheap room-I might be ok with the WC but still not trust the bed. Currently stacking a roll up foam mattress on a yoga mat and put up shades in the windows. Sometimes I just nap in the front seat.
I cant remember ever sleeping in my car, but I am strangely still drawn to this product 😂 Its such a cool idea for those who need it, and the Model y has just the right size to pull it off. I saw it first on the Xpeng G9.
@@Rebelbexski If I go camping its to experience nature. Camping in a high tech car kind of defeats that purpose. But that being said, I somehow just love this option.
Tescamp makes a similar memory foam mattress for Model Y and Model 3. I have one for my Model 3 and my dog and I love it! We go camping all of the time. We will be camping at Grand Canyon National Park in a couple of weeks.
I camp alot in my Tesla Model S but I prefer and highly recommend the DreamCase Tesla bed set. Far better quality and use. Also the DreamCase window coverings are amazing and even have theater mode for your phone or ipad and pockets. Plus they are insulated.
Like jonathanfields4ever said, storage of accessories is very important. Will you be able to fold up all those Clark Rubber foam inside the under floor storage?
My wife and I car camp a lot. We put a $40 air bed down in the back of our Expedition. It sleeps so nice we replaced the traditional mattress in our camper with a $40 air bed.
why is it one needs full coverage to the floor? seems to me the camping mat I already have would do, the if you want to do on a multi day back or bike-pack you take along the same item. The issue might rather be uneven level of the floor, I wonder if that Tesla mat compensates for that.
Not sure I’d want to sacrifice the entire lower well for the bed. Wonder how far forward those front seats were moved and if Tesla custom formed the bottom to flatten out the slightly imperfect seat/cargo transition. At least it looks great lol
Hey Sam, while you’re in China you could do a story on accessories for Tesla Y that are popular there. If you could ,talk to camping accessories people from the Auto show about cars as campers.😊
Can't wait a few years for the Tesla EVan, that'll be the best car for camping. I'll be buying one to travel Australia. A Tesla EVan with an atmospheric water generator (AWG) 👌 & Solar panel skin enough to charge the EVan 5% sitting still on an average day, Perfect.
Slept in my MY all across Europe. Perfect for one or two person. But I still want a bigger electric camper van. Hopefully a Tesla or ID Buzz with a toilet. The ID Buzz hasn't camp mode....
Have accessorised my 2024 M3 with non Tesla stuff such as floor mats. Boot and frunk liners, mud flaps, door bin liners etc. Spent about AUD $450. Excellent quality. But far cheaper than from Tesla.
Great product, I think. But I have some fairly elderly self-inflating camping mattresses and they are quite a pain to deflate. Perhaps technology has changed over the years and it is no longer a trial to do so. I don't see myself ever buying one, because my camping days are past me.

Bought a cheap air mattress on Temu months ago for my model s ($20 bucks)……but hey getting one for $225 bucks with a Tesla logo is cool (not). Love sleeping/camping in my car
The rear seats on my car fold flat as well, and I already have an air mattress that cost a lot less than $225, and an inflator that live in the car anyway. Plus, the mattress alone isn't enough, you need a duvet and pillows to be comfortable. Let's be honest, most Tesla owners will head for the nearest Trump hotel.

If you’re sleeping in the car, where are you going to put your bags, food, water, cooler or 12V fridge, etc. Out on the ground where it’s vulnerable to theft or animals wouldn’t be a good idea. Surely one of those lightweight quick pop-up tents would be better.
No problems! You have frunk, floor behind front seats, subtrunk, deep side pockets in trunk, and free space in your front seats during night. If you really need, get a roof box and or box on your tow hitch.

Did you know that if you fake smile the parts of your brain that release hormones that are positive for your health don't know the difference - therefore it is beneficial to fake smile during hard times that would make you rather look sad or angry if you wouldn't be conscious that looking sad or angry destroys your health. Anyhow - if you are not sad but really crying out loud that's also beneficial because our brains cannot differ between us smiling, even laughing and us crying.
