      Haha you saw that! I started to use python as a calculator a few years ago in my classes to encourage students to learn python.

    That's a nice one. Is there any tool that can help me detect sparse files in Linux that may contain a file system and have there other files that the suspect didn't want us to see? Not taking in consideration paid tools such as Axiom, Encase etc..

      Autopsy is free and runs in Linux.
      Or else you can manually use a combination of tools like "find" to find the sparse file then use "disktype". If there is a file system in that sparse file, it's basically just a dd so disktype should be able to tell you the different file systems contained in that file.
