I have small hands, like 16.5cm length and I'm using Rival 3. It fits me perfectly as i'm using fingertip grip. I don't understand why some reviews said it's not suitable for small hands. Also Rival 3 is best for FPS. I believe steel series mice last longer since I was using Rival 100 for 4 years before I changed it to Rival 3.
Having owned both, I preferred the Viper Mini overall. It's a little smaller, but in the end the LOD can be adjusted (unlike the one on the Rival 3) with the software. Also, the Rival 3's side buttons are so small that they can be quite difficult to reach during intense gameplay, which in turn why I prefer the Viper Mini over the Rival 3. A few days ago though, I have been able to get my hands on a regular Viper for 10 bucks less than the Viper Mini. Couldn't resist to buy it, it's a fantastic mouse. I had returned my first one because Razer just had announced the Viper Ultimate being released. I then bought the Ultimate and I've been disappointed by it. The regular Viper is still the better mouse out of the 3.

The sound of the SteelSeries Rival 3 is much duller and therefore really pleasant. Here wins again the Rival 3 :) what bothers me is that the mice of the Razers are just a bit too high. 1 + point left for the Rival 3!
Just got my Rival 3 in the mail today. Heres some initial impression opinions: Pros: -price -build quality -crispy clicks -solid rgb and software -lightweight Cons: -rubber cable is a little annoying but still is flexible and not too noticeable -side buttons have stronger actuation force from the mouse I used to have (Redragon M711). Also, they are kinda receded and a little bit small. If you use them frequently in-game or in combination, it may be annoying to get used to. -possibly the shape depending on your preference. I have large hands and usually use claw grip and would rather prefer the mouse to be bigger but it still fits well. -rgb doesn't blend 100% smoothly and only has 3 customizable zones. Otherwise, it's fine - Liftoff distance: I personally don't mind it but from other reviews, people say it's about the height of 2 CDs stacked on top of each other. (a bit higher than people prefer) TLDR: really hard to beat this mouse for $30. Only complaints are that the side buttons are a bit small/ narrow, rubber cable might get in the way, and the lift of distance might be more than people prefer. If the size fits you, it's a great pick

@The Techne The only thing I see they messed up on with the rival 3 is the mouse skates. Why did they go with the almost non existent mouse skates? It causes the mouse lift off to be 2 cds. Not to worry I have already ordered my tiger skates. But both mice are really good. The Viper Mini is smaller though grip wise, I have both mice. But Steel Series was trying to make an affordable mouse so I can't knock them for the mouse feet. I give Rival at 4 star out of 5 because of mouse feet. Other than that the mouse is solid and just the right weight for my 7" hands. Any bigger of a hand and you will start to loose grip on the mouse. Good review man.

Thanks sir.. Really nice review. One question, since i am here, what about Gladius 2 Core? Would you compare it with these two? I am stuck at choosing from the three.. Please help :D
Own both of these mice and here are my thoughts. The Viper mini is lighter, has better side buttons, and a better cable but the Rival 3 is wider at the rear and saves RGB settings to the mouse. For my hand size/grip I prefer the Rival but that is just my opinion. Both mice are about $20 as of late 2022.

@@professorfrink6831 Deathadder V3 is definitely way better than Rival 3. The only reason why I'm not getting it for myself is complete lack of RGB. I believe that every wired gaming mouse needs to have RGB. Other than that the specs and the shape are all amazing.
Great reviews but viper mini is cheaper i got it 20usd on blackfriday but i think its 30$
Can you compile the top 5 or 10 best $50~$70 gaming mice?
yeah, it has been on my list. but my to do video list is a bit behind with all that's going on :(
Oh i see..its ok
Just keep up the good work!
Rival 3
Have both mouse and the viper mini by far has better mouse feet and glide. Easily would take the viper mini if I were to choose.
Even razer has named it viper mini
It still longer than my corsair harpoon
Not "mini" enough for my hand 😂
Thank you for that incredible review and comparison!
Only One reason if I must to choose Rival 3, of course because it's cheaper 😀, but there is some much reason if I must choose the viper mini, so... I choose viper mini
Does razer viper mini and huntsman mini work on ps5 plz someone help
Love the razer viper mini! just got one and its fantastic. plus cheap!
totally agree man. best
Can i ask? Does it have any problems? Creaking? I just wanna buy a mouse without problems
@@Moon-gy9np LIterally zero problems. mouse is solid. No flex, good buttons. Cable could be not so "tough" but its still good. i had a g pro wireless before (broke) and this is probably my endgame mouse atm. if they make a wireless version. oh my.
@@jakesuperior3448 thanks bro!
@@Moon-gy9np no problem man(:
Viper mini all the way
Also i hate soft touch material , give me textured or give me death
I bought the G102/G203 for only US$16.50, so that makes it kind of king of budget gaming mice, if you can accept the super sensitive M1 & M2 that is.
been using razer mouse since 2015, should I try steelseries?
Is the rival 3 worth the buck since already got the Razer viper mini!
Hey tachne you do so much good reviews of tech. Can you please do a comparison the the ajazz aj390 and the razer viper mini cause they both are really similar in price
In my country , viper mini cost 25$ while rival 3 cost 35$
I got your ad for the pwnage ultra custom while watching this vid
lol, that's awesome!
@@TheTechne any idea when this mouse will drop to market.
Hey techne can you do Mira S Ultra light weight honeycomb vs Steelseries rival 3 tell me if it’s a good battle
looking for it
Why small ✋ gamers always get the cheapest mouses fffff , WHY ...hhh 😅😢
Thanks sir.. Really nice review.
One question, since i am here, what about Gladius 2 Core? Would you compare it with these two? I am stuck at choosing from the three.. Please help :D
What about rival 3 wireless? Is that better than razer viper mini?
i just bought an MM710 'cause my hands are very tiny, 15.6 cm x 7.8 cm.
FANTASTIC!
That soft touch coating on the rival 3 is gonna turn sticky in a year. Definitely a reason to avoid.
Can u plz do razer viper mini vs razer deathadder v2 mini plzzzzzzz btw love your videos
Own both of these mice and here are my thoughts. The Viper mini is lighter, has better side buttons, and a better cable but the Rival 3 is wider at the rear and saves RGB settings to the mouse. For my hand size/grip I prefer the Rival but that is just my opinion. Both mice are about $20 as of late 2022.
in Europe Viper mini is 40$ minimum
The viper mini costs about 25 USD here while the rival 3 costs about 40 USD. Easy decision, go for the viper mini!
Oo nga 25$ lang, Razer 💚
Can I know which is better for fps games
is there an update to viper mini regarding the rgb save without synapse now ?
Can you do a RVM vs model o-? Love the vids!
I do have that one on the to do list. hopefully soon
The Techne :)
Rival 3 shape makes it for me. Fits like a glove
Do these last long? I bought a mouse ago the hiralfily f300 and it stopped working today :/
yea they will last until u get fed up with them and get a new mouse
