If I was a Deathwatch player, I would prepare myself not having a dedicated codex asap.
The culling in 40k has already started. Space Marines lost (admitedly some very secundary) options with Heresy-era units being moved to 30k only (the non-Indomitus Terminator and non-Primaris Dreadnought and tanks mainly).
Meanwhile, the other factions have been losing their Finecast characters one after the other.
Tactica and Wibb protecting everyone from Rem spoiling wrestlemania (no clue if this was recorded before it)
But that titantron is gonna light up next week with the Inquisisaur's theme.
Another banter heavy episode with long unrelated tangents from cohost and guess alike. The abrupt end seems to show even Rem's disappointment.
15:45 when tac mentioned the amount that's leaving stormcast being enough to field an army he's definitely understating that as I've got a game next week and my friends decided to make it a 2 vs 1, 4k v 4k game just so I could field the entirety of my stormcast that's going to legends and I still have a couple units left over, it's going to be epic
My first thought of "ranges" that might actually be in the line of fire for 40k kight be the harlequins and maybe even the catachan.
At least that's my best guess.
Obviously the firstborn trickling away, but that's also a replacement, wehreas the other two genuinely might be retired in my opinion.
And I don't know when the newest grey knights were launched now that I think about it...

Question: What if the Horus heresy started, but Horus never got corrupted by chaos? Will events be essentially be the same or will there be drastic changes? Since it could be possible the Lunar Wolves are fighting instead the Sons of Horus (not literally, but in a way).
I don’t play beasts of chaos but I’m going to miss them so much in AoS lore. Compared to how Irrelevant they were in WFB they had so much more life and love in their lore. A shame
The premise of the Flesh and Steel sounds very much like it was inspired by "The Tunnel" where a body was left exactly across the British/French border in the Channel Tunnel. Knowing that and hearing that there are references to a regime controlling food coming in I s'pose they are drawing parallels with our rubbish Brexit terms with the EU.
Maybe I have been desensitised or have been drinking in the warp too much but I actually enjoyed Ian Watson’s Space Marine. I got it as a birthday present from my best friend and every time I bring up what happens in the book my gaming group goes No you Ian Watson Goblin, we will not be reading a book that Black Library has labelled heretical.
I read it as the Warcry war bands are being pulled from the AOS range as playable units but not from production. I see them as still being produced but only for Warcry play.
As someone who just recently got myself the Soul Wars box and Ven Brecht's Black Watch box. I'm annoyed, but I understand. Stormies needed a culling and sacrosancts were the clear choice for it.
Sacrosants are not as "iconic" and varied as the OG warrior chambers and not as loved as the thunderstrike stuff.
Bonesplitterz leaving was obvious and I'm not too surprised for Beastmen either, seeing that they are a core army for TOW. Sucks though.
Perhaps an addition to Starship Troopers is an earlier "Power armor" novel. The Forever War by Joe Haldeman )I think, title is definitely correct) I'm not sure if it influenced 40K, but it could have in an entirely different way.

But you know it's ok because instead of making more options for armies they can just take away options until everyone has like 8 units with a combined 5 different load outs in the game

What if instead of ever retiring units/models GW just did what MTG does with their formats? Different formats to cover certain ranges of models and a current one that focuses mainly on newer/cooler/more popular units or factions

In regards to the warcry warbands going it apears that at least rn thay arnt marked as last chance to buy on the store unlike all the other models from the anouncment.
I think that its just thr aos rules going and it was just poorly explaind in the article.
Heck bunch of them are cute tly out for stock in my country but are labels as temporary out of stock
I don't like AoS and I hate sigmarines even more but what's happening to those players are insane. Those minis are not that old and instead of just changing the minis they are forcing players to build new armies of their new armies.
Do not accept GW fucking you over
if GW wasnt super lazy and greedy they could have just said: "if you use x base these miniatures cover the same use" and put out a list for Beastmen for AoS and TOW. You can cull the list without completely invalidating your purchase.
And I think the age thing wasnt honed in on enough. There are a lot of units double or triple the age of any of these AoS figures still usable.

Depends on the density? If it's full of Skaven tunnels, it's a lot lighter than you'd expect. :D
