Hello, I just found your channel. I have a 2008 articat cat quad diesel and having problem and would give me your opinion on what to check. I have plenty of rpm and full throttle but low power. I have changed oil filter and fuel filter. I had to replace speed sensor because connector broke.
@Bearupfarm These engine are all mechanical so I wouldn’t think your speed sensor or any other electronics would affect anything running wise. If you have plenty of rpm are you sure your drive belt is not slipping causing a loss of power?
@@rockspowersports the belt is ok. Not slipping. I give it full throttle and stays at the same speed and power. Before I can give it full throttle and feel the torque and now it can’t pull my small 4x6 trailer .
@@bearupfarm1818 It’s hard to say not seeing it. What I would do is pull your muffler off make sure it’s not restricted. Install a new Air filter if you haven’t yet. Check your valve clearance. Injectors or injection pump could be warn or clogged.
"Burping" the throttle does nothing on a diesel, it's not gas ! Slow and steady is best for diesels. The "dead" spot in throttle response (first 1/3) is normal. As with all diesels, let it warm up untill the fan kicks on before taking off. It'll take a Long time in sub-zero temps. Keep up on maint. schedule, especially valve adjustments. Run diesel fuel additives, especially in winter. With tracks in snow... Low Range, High is fine on the plowed road. ☆
@Joey Holthusen I’m not sure, I would think it would be fine. I’m going to turn the fuel up and advanced the timing to see what I can get out of it first. A Turbo might be in its future though.
I really want one of these they seem really cool and pretty interesting to drive. Decent amount of torque too
It turns the tracks no problem. Im curious to see how it goes with the tires on it.
I’m surprised these aren’t more common, seems like they would be handy for farmers that already keep diesel on hand.
I think that’s where a lot of them went is to the farmers.
@@rockspowersports Yeah most people that bought these are too busy farming to make youtube videos haha
These review videos are so good to watch they are always so informative
I’m glad you enjoy them!
You gotta do a tug of war between the Polaris and arctic cat! Or do some work like hauling logs
I will certainly be doing some comparison videos.
I had tracks on my 700 grizzly !! They worked great !! But it wasn’t a speed Demon either !! Great video Rock
Interesting. Didn't know arctic cat made a diesel.
They actually made these things longer than the Polaris Diesel, they just were never to popular I’m guessing.
Do some more videos on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Oh I certainly will!
@@rockspowersports yay!!!!!!

Curious how the arctic cat 700 diesel handles a turbo? Betting it would wake up a lot.

Whitbread makes a turbo/kit video on these
Got a polaris sportsman 700 cheap
They don't have a lot of power
