  • Hello! Welcome to Mart's Garage. I went mad and paid far too much for a car on ebay. It will be an ongoing project at Mart's Garage for a while. So, in tonight's video I buy the car and give it a good look over when it arrives. So follow along and witness the highs and lows of new project ownership.
    Thanks for joining me once again in Mart's Garage.
    Mart.

    I had a two tone red and white estate. It had vacuum windscreen wipers 😩The faster you drove the slower the wipers worked😂My mate poured a pint of engine oil into the carb after i asked him to check the oil. My fault for not having an air cleaner. It never worked again😂

    Just stumbled across this video and looking forward to watching the next two episodes. I have a 1956 100e Anglia. Black with red interior just like yours with 24k miles on the clock. Came to the end of a long , full mechanical overhaul and engine re build last year and she is back on the road now I’m pleased to say. Besides all the welding / bodywork that needs looking at you seem to have found yourself a good example everything seems to be where it should be bar one or two little things. It’s nice to see another with its original grille still in place and kidney style dash. Spares are still readily available but can get costly. Wishing you the best of luck 👍🏻

    Another 3-bar on the road to recovery. £921 (plus delivery) I would say is a bargain for a project car.
    My son (16) has been watching your videos for the last few weeks and thought it was about time I started as well. As can be seen from my profile picture (and channel), we are fellow 100e owners. I'm sure videos like this have given him the knowledge and inspiration to get on with some of the smaller niggles that our 'Lizzie' has. As he is one of the next generation of classic car owners, I do my best to encourage him.
    Ours is a Feb 1956 registered Anglia Deluxe with plenty of history. She was already restored and roadworthy when we purchased her, nearly 5 years ago so any work we have done has been around keeping her on the road or reversing some of the modifications she has had over the years (removal of an electric fuel pump, a source of a breakdown, for instance). The biggest job we have done is a gearbox swap, thankfully something we had in the parts inventory that we bought with her.
    Our biggest test with 'Lizzie' is to come, 107 miles to Gaydon later this month for the Small Ford Event.

    • @MartsGarage
      @MartsGarage  24 дні тому

      Glad you found me. It's good to encourage the youngsters. Well done on the gearbox swap. I watched the test drive video after the swap. Hopefully I will bump into you at Gaydon. I assume you mean the Old Ford Rally on the 21st. Cheers!

    • @lizzie-the-anglia

      @MartsGarage yes, I keep calling the Small when I mean Old... I might get it right at some point. Please come and say hello if you do see us. Hopefully we will be part of the Ford Sidevalve Owners Club section, if they have one. I'm looking forward to seeing some other Es.
      Since the video we have done some small, quality of life jobs, like replacing the seats for the originals, new brake shoes on the front due to a squeal and sorting a couple of electrical niggles.

    Gonna be a bit before it runs again? Perhaps a french ford v8 swap? 5 speed OD transmitten? Stronger narrow differential? That style of ash tray must be a British thing? My 1961 Morris Minor 1000 had a couple of those ash trays in it. I think my 1959 Triumph Standard 10 had similar ash tray too? The throttle in my Morris was basically an "On and Off" switch. take off in 1st.. throttle on the floor. Lift, shift to 2nd, back on the floor... Same for 3rd and 4th gears. The 948cc engine was a bit weak.
