I am planning to get a mini van for my small family. I went to the Toyota dealer and experienced the new Sienna. The third row with the spare tire on the left side, is actually taking the arm and shoulder space of the left passenger. I don't feel comfortable to sit in the back. Also the interior height is about two inches lower than the previous generation. I fold down the third row seat and let my 3 years old son stand up, I feel that less space compare with the last generation. And the 2nd row seat is smaller than the last generation. If you want to get a van with good fuel efficient. You can go with Toyota.

We bought the XLE FWD with the premium package (entertainment, premium audio, inverter) in early December 2020. We went with the XLE FWD because we wanted 8 seats. The handling is amazing. So smooth, quiet, and we are getting about 36 MPG. No complaints. We plan on keeping this van for 10+ years.

Same here. Just purchased my 2020 Sienna XLE in FWD as I didn't want the 2021 hybrid engine. I will also be keeping this vehicle for 10+ years.

I don’t know if you see this question but I’m debating about the premium package. Can you let me know a little more about it and if you really love it. It adds a bit more to the XLE cost so I was debating it. I just got called from the dealership to let me know that one was coming in and I need to put money on it if I want it. Thanks for your assistance.

I much prefer the smaller diameter rim as it offers a much more comfortable ride; plus it is quite a bit cheaper to replace than the lower profile counterpart. And don't forget the previous generation of Sienna are known for premature tire wear.

We were so excited for the new sienna hybrid and have waited a long time for a new van. We compared the 2020 with the 2021, side by side, and test drove both. Went with the 2020. The loss of power, cargo space, along with the addition of the bridge and non removable seats ended up being deal breakers.

  • @MrErpman
    @MrErpman 2 роки тому +3

We rented a 2021 this weekend because no dealer had one to test drive. It was a very nice drive. In a combination of city and highway driving, including heavy traffic on the highway, it got 35.6 mpg.

I also notice that on the XLE 3:57 the chrome on the upper and lower grill are more polished. Buy on the Limited 3:23 the chrome is less shiny, more matte.

Thank you so much for this comparison. I had been leaning toward the Limited and this confirms me reasoning for wanting it more and being willing to spend the extra money on it. I test drove a FWD XLE yesterday and loved the feel of it. My husband was wowed by the turn radius of it. I'm really hoping my dealership can come through on an AWD Limited for me though.

WOW! Loved this comparison - so entertaining, too!! Jeff, you are incredible. I wish I could buy from you. Thank you for this video. We have been trying to compare on our own and this was so much better. Definitely want the Limited, but without the entertainment system - we're old (no kids) and want to travel in comfort, but like to take a lot of stuff (i.e. 2 sets of golf clubs, lots of luggage (always too many clothes, but what if it gets hot or cold?), coolers (don't want to get hungry or thirsty and be without), extra hats, shoes, and maybe our hammocks? So, need lots of space and easy access to our stuff. Anyway, loved the video. Please do a Limited vs. Woodland video because we are now considering the Woodland. Also, please tell the interior colors. Thanks again!

Bigger rims will handle turns and sudden lane changes better, car will feel like a train on the rails. I have 2013 Sienna SE with 19" rims so i know. Feels good losing all SUVs on turns if you go fast and they are jealous and try to go as fast. Super heavy SUVs don't have sharper acceleration either, even with GAS hungry V8s, so I'm not sure why people say minivan is old mans ride. SUV is for softer more peaceful driving. If you try to race it. You stuck with poor acceleration, low top speed bad turn handling, crazy fuel economy and risk of roll over. At the end it only looks cooler and can handle mud driving better if you are a fun of it. Drifted from topic,... so smaller rims higher rubber profile gives you more comfort and softness in straight line driving, feeling less potholes but worth handling.

Thanks for sharing the vid. I think Toyota has some work to do to say the least.
    1. At $55,512 msrp, with all the options and packages, you would think you could just push a button to let down the 3rd row seats.
    2. And be able to take out the 2nd row seats but you can't. Designers and Engineers gone wild and smoke weeds together.
    3. It only has Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) 2.0, it is the latest model in the Toyota's line up, yet a 2021 Camry, which is a carry over has TSS 2.5+, and it only cost half as much? What is going on? I think they are just trying to milk the hard working average American families. That is really a shame for Toyota, for a family like mine looking for safety, how can the latest model does not even have TSS 2.5+, it is a scam Toyota!

Great review. I would suggest investing in a remote lapel mic. so your voice doesn't modulate when approach and retreat from the camera.

Thanks Jeff, very helpful review...iPhone 12 is awesome, but hope you could grab a Progo with much better streaming quality and stability in particular when you're moving in and out doing interior review.

no v6 tho big sad. 150 000 miles later the battery needs replacing and there go all your fuel savings. and if you just lease cars forever to not keep them until 150k miles what savings are you even making lol there are no savings to be made. if you have to think about fuel savings with hybrids while leasing you probably shouldn't be leasing! otherwise just get something with a v8 for the most fun! lol

Sienna is fantastic but I noticed that 3rd row seat does not go down flat like the previous version. I usually fold down 3rd row seat for cargo , so able to slide it in n slide out is important. So is there any toyota accessory that will fix that? Thanks!

I have a 16 year old odyssey that I don't want to let go, cause of the body, huge body.. meanwhile all the newer editions like other mini vans have gotten smaller.. I would like the 2021 sienna or odyssey outside look, and inside new tech but with the old huge body space

Great job Jeff. Loved it and very informative. If you slid the 2nd row captain chairs back, can you fit a wheelchair in there? Thx

Great details Jeff, anyway can the limited add another seat at the middle of the second row?

I wish that they offered the spare tire here in Canada. We tend to have some long drives up in The Great White North. They also don't have the roof rails on the XLE here. If the dollar was stronger again, I would head to Buffalo to make a purchase.
