That is obviously an adult owned truck that probably carries an adult woman passenger and considering the Curt hitch it probably tows as well. That system clearly woke up the tone but won't offend the neighbors (or the people in the campground) when you fire it up at dawn and roll out. I like it. Don't know why people are complaining about the welds. I can't weld that good. Good work guys!
It looks janky as hell, but sounds clean. If he tows with it, he'll appreciate this far more than some of the aftermarket options that drone like hell. At least it doesn't sound like your neighbors clapped out straight piped anything!
Not breathing with that third glass pack, should have put thrush welded mufflers on it, they sound like Nascar pipes, have them on my truck and it's freaking loud
@kyletrummel69 should have kept the duals, even out the side if that's what he wanted, but it should have been a lot louder with glass packs and burning the tires taking off like that, that engine has crazy torque so the third glass and probably the res too is restricting the 💩 out of the exhaust.
I don't know bout the quality of the parts. But in my opinion sounds about perfect. Ive got a 7.3 and been debating leaving stock or something mild. This sounds better then the much more expensive setups ive seen.
Have any of these commenters ever considered that the dude maybe has kids or close neighbors? Not everyone wants a loud ass V8 lmao. Let him enjoy his purchase
I have my gripes with some of this shop’s stuff at times, but I gotta say, some of these comments are brutal. Is it a show quality exhaust? No, but the owner brought his own parts and probably wanted it done as cheap as possible. Also, think about the location…the exhaust will probably be ate up with rust in no time. If this was a race or show car, you’d probably see much different quality of work. Get them in, get them out and collect your happy customer’s cash…that’s the name of the game in a busy muffler shop in the rust belt. When that customer goes to show off his new truck to his buddies, do you think he’s going to slide lights and mirrors under his truck? Seriously
It's still less restrictive than stock. It also sounds like it should have stock. Under tow load at freeway speeds as others say might be the best. Also from going quiet to not that loud cold starts can be heard by neighbors if you in the suburbs and not out in the sticks.
It sounds good but for how much was spent on all three of those mufflers he should have just put a little more into it and got a magnaflow. Probably 18 or 22 inch depending on how quiet he wanted it. Truck is to nice for thrush.
3, not 4, all straight through design. Quiet below 3,000rpm and straight through above that. Planning on copying that system on my truck when/if it comes in.
I wonder if that last resonator is taking away some of the sound... I mean this is better than stock, but there's gotta be a better setup even if it's not as loud as we'd all like... Unique at least.
It must be really tough to make that 7.3 sound good unless you just build them up with engine parts. Ive not heard one yet that sounds good after exhaust work.
It doesn't do anything but make it louder. Will not be any practical increase in anything but noise without pcm tune. Most people who use their trucks for work and towing horses or anything for that matter don't want the truck screaming.
Give it a month the glass packs will burn in and it will sound just right...if it was me I would have left the middle resonator and dump the 2 mufflers probably would have sound better..
@@MidwestMotor The shop clearly responded to an idea from a customer with cash in hand. Honestly I would have never thought of that but I know why they did it.
Only the exhaust it's self for like 3/36. The emissions part I doubt unless you went high flow cats. Exhaust might trigger a nosy tech to scan and wait for detection of a tune making a simple ticket into an all day extravaganza.
Straight pipes from cats back is always the cheapest, shop just cuts the resonator and mufflers and replace with their own pipes, or a simple muffler delete. Shop here in Atlanta charged me just 200 just to change Mufflers and delete the resonators on my 5.0 Mustang.
I don’t understand..any time somebody comes in with the 7.3 gas ford or the 6.6 gas Chevy, you guys always do such questionable stuff. Neck down from 3.5 to 3 then back out into 3.5 on the Chevy. Then this contraption on the ford. What the heck.
It’s not the shop’s problem. Get mad at the customers since it’s upon request. You’re also talking about this big gas engines that are supposed to substitute for the absence of the diesel options. Not some American Muscle engines
Those diesel mufflers work on these applications. And if they would source 3 inch or larger mandrill bent piping they could OFFER the customer better. They tell the customer what they can do and the customer agrees. Better options better agreement, better finished product
Why didn't we just dual thrush true dual. You were right there, and added that goofy AF y for no reason. Or you could have just y into 1. Like a normal ass human being. 😂😂
After paying for the truck the driver is broke 😂... 😪. Couldnt afford anything better. The duals i want for my truck are 1600. Another 2500 if i want gesi y pipe. Thats not evens headers. Its nuts, not even worth it. And thats exactly what they want
What an absolute mess. The value of what he chopped off far surpasses the thrush junk that will rot away after a couple years max. I can’t believe that people will chop up a superior exhaust to weld in junk. And what a horrible install. My lord!

Grown ups don't ask for glass packs, because that's literally what Thrush mufflers are.

It honestly doesn’t sound too bad just a touch quiet for me. Id drop that 3rd glass pack.
I wouldn't have put the 2 glasspaks on, just Y-pipe it to the 1 glasspak.
Proof that the customer isn’t always right. It’s what they wanted, but man there are so many better options lol
Not breathing with that third glass pack, should have put thrush welded mufflers on it, they sound like Nascar pipes, have them on my truck and it's freaking loud
I was thinking he should've gone with two Rattlers and then merge into a single since he was keeping the rear resonator.
@kyletrummel69 should have kept the duals, even out the side if that's what he wanted, but it should have been a lot louder with glass packs and burning the tires taking off like that, that engine has crazy torque so the third glass and probably the res too is restricting the 💩 out of the exhaust.

I like... mellow tone!
Stock restrictions, it’s like the exhaust is escaping Alcatraz
😂
Where are you guys located? Id happily bring my 3rd gen camaro cuz the work yall do is AWESOME!
No way, let that monster 7.3L gasser breathe, owner! He'll be back, haha😂
Way too quiet imo. Need to be able to hear that big gasser.
Hell yeah, that's what I'm saying! Let that monster breathe!
Can you put some sort of diverter on these things so that they're loud when you push a button and not when you want?
Basically four glass packs.. I believe just 1 would have done the trick
3, not 4, all straight through design. Quiet below 3,000rpm and straight through above that. Planning on copying that system on my truck when/if it comes in.
The resonator just before the tip is basically a glasspack

Pretty good sound
Sounds very good ❤❤❤
Should have went flow fx
beautiful work on the truck guys but owner them glass packs ain’t it, should’ve left the one y muffler on there 🤦🏽♂️
would have done full straight pipe
Sounds really deep, but imo, it needs to breath more since it's a huge 7.3L V8 engine like what i'm saying is that it needs more sound

Chop off the mufflers as he said. But a real muffler is better sound in my opinion.
Chop rear muffler off and start there.
It need more
the tires look so small

30 yrs ago if you put a Thrush on backwards there would be an annoying whistling out the tailpipe!
Good sound, bird shit welds. Duals would have been better, but....customer got what he wanted & the cash register keeps ringing!
Hopefully owner reads this
Go back have them remove these glasspacks put a flowmaster super 10 remove the rear resonator and call it a day
