I'm so sorry about the audio of this video! Not sure what's happening, maybe the ring light being close to the camera is picking up some frequency? 🤯😮‍💨🫠

I’m so grateful for this video, as someone who will hopefully go after a phd in psychology this was really helpful, and yes, remember our why is one of the most important things we need to always do so we can do our best in helping others, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, you’re such an inspiration ❤

Thank you for bringing up how to keep your head up when it seems like there's so little hope in the world. It was definitely something I needed to hear :)

Hi! I was wondering if you break from your masters to your PhD was necessary (in terms of needing to practice research outside of a school setting to gain that experience for a PhD program) or was it something you chose? And if so you chose to break, why? Also, did you feel like you needed to get your masters in order to get your PhD? Last question (sorry lol): was your Undergrad GPA good, average, or great? 😊

How did you describe that difference in the theoretical backgrounds when you explained your reasons for changing? I also want to transition from social work to psychology and realize I want to do similar work of helping people at the end of the day, but when I think about the why, my words are kids of graceless and it sounds critical of SW: I am more interested in psychology and science now than I was when I wanted to be a social worker, I am less interested in broad, systems-based approaches to interventions with individuals and families and more interested in specific, psychology-based therapeutic orientations and *how and why they work*; more interested in academics and theory, including the potential for research. Do you think this is an acceptable way to word this? Is there a better way to explain?

Hey Yeonni, I’m making grad school decisions and I applied to MHC, MSW, and a school psychology psyd program at colleges in NYC. How has your grad school experience been? I’m highly considering the school psychology psyd but I always knew I was more clinically oriented . The program does have a clinical component to it but what I’m worried about is if there will be a stigma on how well I can work with adults in the future in a clinical setting if I don’t like working in a school. Graduate assistantships also aren’t guaranteed since Psyd programs are low on funding. Should I pursue a masters first and then a PhD in clinical psych? I actually did get into the same social work program you graduated from! What do you think?
