The constant camera motion was down to the 3D method they used - the Pulfrich effect. With the right eye darkened, objects moving left-to-right appeared closer, whilst objects moving right-to-left appeared further away. Which is why not only the camera keeps on moving, it's always in the same direction.
Sylvester has a real-life hangover in the scene with Leela. What interests me is WHY he had been drinking the night before? It was the fact that he had to be in this, wasn't it?
Dimensions in time is just the actors running around pointlessly. The best thing about it is the fact that it was for charity. Great review!

Has anybody else noticed the Seventh Doctor's amazing Dubbing powers? He was dubbed in Greatest Show in the Galaxy, at the end of Survival, and in this too.
I like it - because you get to see the original actors recreating their roles as the Doctor (and the original actors acting as their Companions). Despite the awful script, the Doctors were all in character.

Oh lord! Given the designs of the Vervoid heads I implore you all never to do Into The Vervoid....Or if so it'll have to be one of those episodes put on a later time! Nice little review, like you two I like Dimensions in Time because it is just a little bit of fun, not canon and it was done for a good cause. I'd probably give it a 6/10 in my opinion
Hi Guys. Did you know that at the time broadcast (I remember watching it live on TV when i was 13) we all had to wear 3D glasses? That explains the spinning effects that made you feel sick. They were originally 3D graphics :)
There was also a multiple choice ending that you could call in and vote for.
Still a crappy story though ;)
We must pull free, we must succeed. Great review of what was the 30th special but I do love More Than 30 Years in the Tardis so it was a good anniversary. Can't wait for Series 8 and its a shame because I would of loved your review of The Christmas Invasion.

Yeah then they wanted Lost in the Dark Dimension then that flopped...mind you JNT wanted the Seventh Doctor and the Brig fighting Cybermen in a church but no, the Beeb wanted Dimensions in Time.
5:52 That, believe it or not was meant to be Sir Ian McKellen as a Timelord (the character's even cheekily named Cyrian in the script) but he declined.

Really, had they all just ran around Albert Square with the Benny Hill theme playing it would have made about as much sense as the script they created. Frankly I consider Curse of Fatal Death more canon than this... horrible... thing. :p

Love that Destiny Dalek. Very cool. Yes, Dimensions in time was one of a kind. It's pretty bad, but sort of fun in its own way.

The issues with Dimensions In Times plot apparently have a lot to do with Noel Edmonds having a tantrum when he realised how long it was and how much of his House Party show it would take up, and demanded it be edited down, so a lot of scenes just disappeared as there was no time left to do reshoots.
Wasn't there a Virgin New Adventures book (or maybe Short Trips) that makes Dimensions in Time was one of the 7th Doctor's dreams?
Yeah. I read about that. And that is how I fit it in the canon. IT WAS ALL A DREAM!

The 30th Anniversary special all in all is just a complete mess. I think there's something we can all learn from Dimensions in Time, science fiction and soaps don't mix! There are some genres that can work together and some that don't, this is one of them.

I like Dimensions in Time
When I first watched it I literally thought that I was just too dumb to understand it, I didn't even understand as much as you say in the video lol
What do you think of The Christmas Invasion really like it myself but Dimensions in Time is absolutely pants in my opinion its cramped and just weird and has the weirdest ending ever but because it charity ill let it pass but its still bad altough the other charity specials are better so that's maybe not a good escuase.
The spinning is needed to create the 3D effect . There is a tomorrow’s world snippet online that explains it. It’s terrible
It works in that if you don't have the glasses you can watch a clear picture which has always been a problem with many 3D systems. However it has to be specifically written and shot for the effect and I think this demonstrated why it can't work for drama. Still it was worth a try.
@@timrollpickering It's also good fun because if you plan your shots, you can make a 3D movie with your mates using just a regular camera.
You can also wear the glasses during any film made ever, and you'll get surprise 3D scenes.

Would the dark dimension have included regular earthshock cybermen and creepy skeleton cybermen or just skeleton cybermen

Interesting video. One of the few televised 'stories' I haven't yet seen so I might watch it one of these days to experience the sheer weirdness of it

Unpopular opinion: Dimensions in Time is one of my favourite multi-doctor stories. In fact, I class it as canon, unlike a certain 50th anniversary...
Spectrum Storms I prefer it to day of the doctor, better ridiculous and crazy than safe and boring, plus Tennant and smith are my least favourite doctors

Actually, it isn't canon, and fans quite like that fact. It was revealed in one of the New Adventures that it was all a dream

Anything New Who, including Timey Wimey, is a pale shadow of real Doctor Who.
