How To Run a Poshmark Silent Show (and why you should be doing them)

- I am a recent convert to Poshmark Silent Shows. I LOVE doing Live Shows, but I am learning to embrace silent ones, and I think you should to. Have you tried silent shows?

Been doing Poshmark since 2016 and was real late to the game with auctions. Live shows were intimidating and I just didn't feel like I had the right get up to pull one off. Silent shows were something I discovered and had to feel out. There are a few things not mentioned here that I would like to contribute. That's not to say this video wasn't wonderfully done, motivating and made to follow with ease. . . This video was spot on. *First I would say don't get discouraged with a low audience attendance count. All it takes is one person to take interest in your show and you could sell damn near everything you set out to auction. I have had this happen a handful of times and even had these people come and shop my closet for more. I gain followers that turn into buyers after looking through my full closet. A big thing that wasn't mentioned, is yes you will be asked if you are aware this is a silent show in the begining, but once your show starts , you can tap on the mic that's is "turned off" and it will turn on for you. You can then at least give live audio as you auction if you would like for certain items, turning it off if "the baby is getting fussy," or just as practice for doing live shows . Another way that you can use this feature is to play music during your show, by placing it next to a source of music you are listening to. Keep in mind it will pick up whatever other noises or conversation is in the room as well and it's best to keep the music from being too crazy. High profanity will have younger shoppers snatched right out your show by an overseeing parent, as well as other inapppropriate noise. Music can either draw people in or completely turn them away so chose wisely. One thing I didn't know was that you could run and re-run the same items as many times as you would like hypothetically, until they have sold. Until an item has sold, you are free to auction it in your show as often as you like. If you have a key item you would like to sell but have already run when new viewers arrive, you can re run it again if you think it would be worth the shot of the new eyes getting a chance to bid. I apologize , my grammar sucks and spelling is not my forte, but I hope these things help!

it happened to me! I had three clients on and I was just going live and having fun., and guess what? I sold $330+ worth of stuff! I couldn't believe it. Soooo grateful for my clients.
Great tip about putting on music. That was my question as well! If you can at least add some elevator music during the "silent" shows! I don't necessarily want to be on camera and chattering away, but I would like a little "pick me up" music while running my Posh shows. The problem is I am on a "waiting list" to have this feature turned on for me. I don't know what the hold-up is. :(
Great video. Just found you. I did my first silent show this morning and even though I only had 6 people at most at any given time, I sold 4 items. It was awesome. I will definitely do it again.

The site info/instructions to me were not easy to follow/understand so thank you for this. I am definitely going to give it a try. I've never done a silent show, but I love this option for when I am doing my day job, I can just run stuff while I am working at my desk, as well as when I am putting my son down or if I'm not feeling well! Like you said, if you sell a couple things, or grab a few new followers it's worth the maybe 30 mins it'll take.
I did a whatnot show and hated it. So, I haven't done any posh shows. I just don't have the energy it takes to command an audience. You have me motivated to try some silent shows. Thank you!

Yes auctioning on a silent show does allow me to get other things done. Live shows are a LOT of work. It is tiring to say the least. I will do a few here and there. It seems like so much set up and then no sales is just seeming like a waste of my time which is in short supply!! Thank you for doing this!

I've done two and made 0 sales, but that's OK because I'm still learning. The last one I did I couldn't get into the comments screen, which I didn't understand. And Posh support is NO help trying to figure out why I couldn't type in the comments. The one thing I don't like is that Posh requires a low price of $5 in the closets, but in the auctions you can start at $1. I think it should be the same. I agree about visibility of your items and not necessarily sales.
I haven't figured out what is the BEST time to show. Oh another thing: The LIVE SHOWS are getting veryyyyy CROWDED.

In the silent show you have to be present
Posh used to have a cutoff time or schedule how long you can run the show. I don't see that option today.

I've tried having silent shows and haven't had luck. Any advice? I sell items in good condition at very reasonable prices, oftentimes mall brands. I guess I have to be more consistent.

Yes! I’ll make a video for you, but during your silent show you can click the microphone icon and play music or talk through your pieces. Just be advised, people will hear whatever is going on in your house.

They are still rolling it out. Initially they only invited people, but now you can apply on their blog, that’s what I did! If you attend a posh and sip you will automatically be approved.
My Posh Shows doesn't show up on my pull down menu and it's not under my seller tools...what do I do? I can't have a silent auction.

So I set up one but when I hit start it showed my camera even though I chose silent auction. I don't want my camera on what did I do wrong

One BIG problem I am having is that no matter how much I tag or advertise to my shoppers, I can NOT get more than 10 in my shows. I usually get 5 or less most of the time. It is very frustrating. What am I doing wrong???? Is there a better time to do a show or does it matter? I hope I can hear back from you about this. I did learn from you to schedule my shows out a ways. I did that. Maybe that will help. I have been keeping my shows called Quick Shot Short Shows and trying to get more LIKES on my flyer for those shows which might be scheduled out or random last minute shows. Any advice to get more to come to my shows?
Oh very rarely do I sell things at my shows. It seems like a waste of time that is why I won't waste more than 1 hour at this time.
I rarely get more than 10 viewers at a time! You’ll get more if you do share shows, but they only care about selling their own pieces. I try not to look at the viewer count. Doesn’t matter how many are there, only matters if the people watching are real buyers or not.
@@kareyna45 honestly, I was so discouraged when I first did silent shows, I never even got 10 viewers at a time once. . . But really , it only takes one person, just one and you could sell damn near everything you set out to auction. It has happened to me on a handful of occasions now, so I am not sweating the number of viewers!

What are the Canva dimensions for the show image?
I use the Instagram story template. You lose just a little off the top and bottom, but that way I can use the templates they already have built. It saves me a lot of time!

Do you need to mark the item as "not for sale" before you add them item to your posh show?
No! It’s a huge waste of time and totally unnecessary. You just add them into your show and you’re good to go.

It bumps you up in the algorithm so your show is more likely to be advertised by Posh. Comments help too.
I started doing silent auctions but I noticed that the bidding section is not showing. What do I do.

@Refashioned Hippie I put my items in and changed the auction prices and seconds I wanted the auction to last, but during rhe live all that happens when I select the items is it just shows pictures. It does not give the option to bid on the item
@@stephaniecaron5511 that is exactly how it's supposed to look from the sellers side. Unless your buyers are telling you that they can't bid on your items you should be ok. If they have said that, you should report the problem to Posh immediately. They are still in the early phases of this and there are still bugs, they will be glad to hear about what needs to be fixed. Please let me know either way!

How do you have a slideshow option happen for silent shows? When I did it, it never ran thru the pictures. Not sure why.
Posh gets a little glitchy from the seller side. Did your buyers tell you it wasn’t showing a slideshow or did it just appear stationary on your end? That happens to be a lot but the buyers see it correctly.

This is a good question, so I finally had enough courage to do a silent auction actually 2 of them today BUT on my end I never saw a slide show so what does that mean. Was poshmark being glitchy on my end???
