I believe the "naughty" little box is actually an antique "snuff box" (snuff was just a powdered form of Tobacco). Thanks for all the amazing episodes!
My thought as well, a snuff box because they were popular with men & women...but who knows how certain people might've used it! ...Definitely a genuine antique discovery bound to become a fun conversation piece. I enjoy having a rogue conversation piece or 2 placed around my house!
So beautiful! First of all "scarf your food" is definitely a saying. Second, thank you for taking us to that fabulous flea market. I love your finds, especially the print. I loved those large paintings of vintage ladies on canvas... I wish you had gotten one of those... they were gorgeous and so fun! Can't wait to see what is next!
The English slang word is "scoff".....meaning to eat hastily and greedily.....! Bateau Mouche.....flying boat....is the name of the long wide tourist boats that plough up and down the Seine. St Sulpice church is featured in the Da Vinci Code film.....as is The Louvre. The Eiffel Tower sparkles on the hour. Croque Monsieur is a ham and cheese sandwich...fried on each side in butter... Croque Madame is the same... but with a fried egg on top .
Omg Laura! My palms were literally sweating and I was so anxious seeing all of the wonderful treasures at the flea market and not being able to take them home! It would be torture on me going and not being able to bring boxes back to the states! 😱 Glad you are having a beautiful trip! ❤️
Thank you for taking me everywhere with you. I have bad knees and I'm not allowed to get replacements for another 5 years (when I'm 55) so until then I will have to live vicariously through others :)
What fun at the flea market! Your free night in Paris reminds me of the free night my husband and I had in Paris and we ended up at the Eiffel Tower when it lit up. What a sight, what a night!
I'm absolutely Loving your Paris and European vacation. I feel as if I'm there with you tasting the food, and the wine, and seeing the sights, and the best part is I'm just going along for the ride:-) 🍾🥂🧀🍷🥳 🎉 🇫🇷 I can't wait to see what happens next:-)
The “naughty “little box is an antique snuff box. I collect them because I think they are just so cool and they come in so many different shapes and forms but are really hard to find with their little spoon.Great find😁
I am stuck in bad feeling awful - got Covid.😔 so miserable but then I had the most wonderful escape with your Europe episodes. Took me out of my sick body for a while🤩💕. These are just so dreamy! Thank you for taking me along! I just forgot about everything and found myself smiling for the first time in a few days. Can’t wait for more episodes!
That little metal box you got was definitely a snuff box. They were used in the 17th and 18th centuries to sniff powdered tobacco. The one you found, looked very old, very unique and beautiful.
I can’t stand it! How cool this whole trip is! I’m so happy for you and jealous for me. But also so thankful that you are sharing with us. You do such a good job with the editing and videography and music. Looking forward to seeing more! Thank you! 🙏💚💚💚
The one pendant is an antique snuff box with the tiny spoon, like Sherlock Holmes could have had…really cool,Laura! Actually everything is super great! The antique foo dog candleholders are beautiful! I love the jewelry…and ofcourse…the paintings, omg…so cool!😁
Has anyone else mentioned how frickin amazing the Jester painting is. It looks like a Picasso, of the type most people don't recognise. But all the art was amazing. Must go back to Paris soon!
What a beautiful experience Paris is a beautiful country,You look so happy lm glad to see youse are having a wonderful time, memories youse will have forever,Enjoy even more an take good care Laura an Jesse,God bless🙏🙏🤲
Some spectacular finds on the flea market 🤩 and how I miss the Brocantes and Vide Greniers from my years living in France ! Looking forward for more fun shopping ❤️✌🏽
The "naughty" piece is actually for snuff, which is absolutely awesome for clearing your sinuses (NOT a drug 🙂)! My Mom had us sniff snuff all the time as kids, and we never, ever got sick. You should be able to get some at your Co-OP or natural foods store if you'd like to try it.
In the UK we say 'scoff' the food down not scarff. I'm enjoying your trip right with yo, at least it feels like I'm with you. Your films great. Have fun x
Thank you for taking us to some of the most amazing places that I will never get to see. You comment on your nails. How much fun would it be to have your nails done in Paris and had a real French Manicure.❤️
Oooo Paris Round 2 - how good is that!! Have a wonderful time in the city of romance (and some pretty good flea markets too!) Where are "we" going next? Cant wait! xx
Nothing better than a spontaneous date with your best friend (my hubby) we still hold hands every time we walk anywhere and we have been married for 24 years. 😊
I have been to London but Paris is top on my bucket list!!! Love your videos and you always find amazing treasures!!! I was so excited when I spotted a necklace like mine on one of the tables in this video!! I love seeing all the art and sorta screamed "Laura grab them for me" when you stopped and looked at the 3 oval shaped canvas paintings of the ladies. Can hardly wait to see the next video!!
The brass burro salt & pepper shaker holder could also hold 2 ornate wine bottle stoppers made of cork end-stoppers and decorated enamelized tops or artfully carved wooden top pulls. I have collected 5 wine bottle stoppers from a vacationing couple who visit a local vineyard every few years. I'd never seen these stoppers before. This couple brings a few for their personal use. My late beloved partner & I met this couple nearly 20 years ago when they first showed us the stoppers & we bought one & kept buying another one each time they visited. Perhaps this summer since social restrictions have lifted our vacationing friends will return when I hope to buy a 6th bottle stopper. ...I'm very much appreciating & enjoying these vacation vlogs as everyone else is...we're fortunate to see so much of what we never would otherwise. May you both be safe & well & continue to enjoy! Thank you.
You are doing an amazing job sharing your trip with us. I’ve been so impressed with your photograph just an all around fun experience. Thank you for taking us with you!
Hey Darling ,i do this trip every year 2 time and that exactly what I do , check all the flea markets and everything’s is visiting museums and wondering around the city.
So many feasts for all of the senses in your videos Laura. I do need to stop watching late at night though because all of the food is making me so hungry 😂
omg i am so jealous .me and my daughter talk about going to paris all the time ..i have never been so sure ..i mean for the yard sale art alone &.all the golden CRITTERS & pottery CRITTERS..i love that so many antiques floating around because its an old coutry... im just in awe of these vlogs... enjoy making memories.. also i collect post cards i hope you will e bringing some home to sell in your shop or even to send out from there !
White asparagus is grown completely under the soil or covered with plastic so it is never exposed to sunlight. This prevents photosynthesis, keeping the spears milky white. Some say it tastes a little bitter.
White asparagus only appears in March and April every year. It’s more substantial than green asparagus. Often the outer skin near the base needs to be peeled. Steam it, serve with butter and sautéed breadcrumbs. It’s a delicacy and most comes from Germany. Beelitz is the chief growing region. Now you know!
Hi Laura, nice digging. I know this market, won't tell where it is as you mentioned it. The necklace at 30.30 is a French brand DLH déposé, other necklace is silver Algerian style and the pendant is probably Isa-Laure Paris, hard to see.
Brings back so many memories of my time in England and France except you all have made the best of it and seeing more than l did...l was married to a grumpy killjoy of a husband...not like your Jessie and his terrific attitude! Regarding the comment about the little necklace compact with spoon being an antique snuff container...l think you both are right...snuff isn't white. Haha Thanks for letting us have a front row seat of your adventures! 💗🗼
In the UK we say 'scoff' the food down not scarff. I'm enjoying your trip right with yo, at least it feels like I'm with you. Your films great. Have fun x
Some of those beautiful metal items you scored would be beautiful mounted or otherwise placed in tiny little frames to display among other framed pieces on a wall. I’ve done this with certain precious coins, cameos etc.
I am originally from France (now living in Canada) and this video reminded me of how much I miss the flea markets in Paris! I smile at how excited you get sometimes! 🤟🏻
I have had many interrruptions this morning, but was finally able to finish watching the video. I LOVE the way it ended. After your boat ride cancellation for the evening, watching you walk around with Jesse reminded me so much of my two trips to Paris. The first time, my husband and I were stationed in the UK and we took the Chunnel (aka Channel Tunnel) to Paris with a fellow soldier and his wife. That trip, we used the Metro a lot to get around. Among other things, we went to the Louvre, took a nighttime boat ride on the Seine, visited the Eiffel Tower and ate at a wonderful Turkish restaurant. We had a great time. The second time was when we were stationed in Belgium. But that trip to Paris was just me and my best friend, who flew over from the U.S. to spend my birthday with me. It was just us two girls, and we had a total blast. We spent the majority of our trip walking, rather than using the Metro as much. Our feet were sore, but we made a lot of great memories. Two of which were accidentally finding and walking around the garment district, watching trucks delivering big rolls of gorgeous and very expensive fabrics, and sitting on the balcony of our hotel room eating cheese, fruit and French bread while drinking wine and watching the city lights. One of my best birthdays ever. Can't wait to see more of your videos!
When I went to Germany they had white asparagus growing whichI thought was weird also. Another thing was corn growing that wasn’t for people to eat. It was for feeding animwls.
Happy Thursday friends! I’ll be live chatting at 7:00pm for the premiere! Hope to chat with you then 😘❤️
Have seen some collections of snuff boxes and none of them came with spoons. I would make sure it's clean when you go through customs!

I loved the snuff box ✨✨✨
I was going to tease her, and say it was for a secret stash of poison. Lol!
Snuff boxes were very popular between the 19th hundreds and early 20th centuries. Definitely an antique. Score!
My thought as well, a snuff box because they were popular with men & women...but who knows how certain people might've used it! ...Definitely a genuine antique discovery bound to become a fun conversation piece. I enjoy having a rogue conversation piece or 2 placed around my house!
My guess as well.
Paris is amazing. We took a bus tour for our honeymoon. Went a few times in high school field trips too.😊
The best way to enjoy a city is free time, just walking then you get excited from finding beautiful places by chance, Jesse did a good job
I never saw green asparagus until I moved stateside 😊
Can not blame your tour guide friend for keeping the name of her found honey hole; that was a great thrift market! Thanks for taking us along.
I’ve been to that market & it’s amazing!
Would you please give me the name of that market and the area it's in?
I
Or, it might be för smelling salt.
I love that you are so vivacious. Your narration is so lively. Even the small details feel so interesting. Lovely editing.
I had been there as a flight attendant and hit the flea markets often. U r living a dream I had 30 years ago. Soo happy for u
The trip of a life time! Wow!! Thanks for including us.its been beautiful.
