  • I've been wanting to mill some of the logs from my property for a while now, and I'm finally getting the chance to do just that today. Today I load up some poplar, oak and pine logs on my trailer and haul them to a sawmill about an hour away. The EZ Boardwalk sawmill, which is the same mill that Adam at ‪@HometownAcres‬ uses does a great job ripping through these logs and quickly turns the logs into usable lumber.

Have you thought about asking for their off cuts to use as firewood? It would dry very quick.

yes, they're definitely willing to let me take as much as I'd like, and I did throw in a few slabs on top of the lumber for the trip home. Its just tough to justify going back to get more with a 2 hour round-trip.

Very nice Phil. Making your own lumber is very rewarding. Poplar mills up great. Probably my favorite species to mill so far.

I have so many poplar trees. I hope I like working with it because I can certainly make a lot more of it!
