there's actually some new things that Ken can do in S2 compared to S2. For example, he can now do hard tatsu after his mk > hk target combo and it'll be more optimal for damage and stun than if you use hard dp. I've found that when crossing-up using j.mk I tend to favour using that mk > hk combo into hard tatsu instead of jab > b.mp > hp > hard tatsu as it's an easier input - great for a slightly newer player like myself - and it's still good on damage and stun.
Chris Morton Id be careful using jump MK into MK > HK. The Lion Breaker target combos MK is one frame slower and if not timed quite deeply it leaves frame gaps where people ca. mash DP or worst still not combo at all. The HK Tatsu after Lion Breaker is good, but if not spaced properly can actually whiff. Think HP DP links from further out. Just gotta watch spacing.
Yeah, it can be risky at times and especially if they're DP-ing every single time you jump. However, as long as your jump mk doesn't leave you at max range of the mk for lion breaker then you should be fine. It also seems to help if you time the jump mk fairly late - which is in itself a risk. Though the chances of no getting the combo at all are actually quite low as long as your execution is on point, as if you were to go into the lab and test when the dummy is set to instantly block after the first attack then you should be able to land it consistently. After that it's a case of practicing the hit confirm. I'll have to test for when someone is mashing DP after the jump mk hits, though. It's possible that it'll still catch people who attempt non-EX DPs, especially if they don't have a 3-frame DP like - for example - Ken does. As for the hk tatsu after lion breaker, as long as you use it when not at max range of the lion breaker target combo then you should still hit with it. HP DP is safer if your spacing is off, though.
I recently started Sfv and I'm decided to main Ken as I enjoyed him the most after trying all characters, I just reached silver but I'm hearing how he is nerfed and and a friend told me I should pick a higher tier character as my main and drop Ken... Should I drop him or keep playing him? Since I didn't play season one I don't really know what's made him worse
you know something always confuses me. When i first got this game they said when Ken throws a fireball its negative, can be punished hard. I always see a bunch of Kem's throw close range fireballs. Are they not getting punished because the opponent isn't ready to punish.?
ken has a fast ass fireball compared to ryu....ryu is a freaking slug in this game especially after the patch. I switched to Ken because he is overall quicker and more explosive. Way more options than Ryu.
misterperson331 go under it. I'm a Ken main and usually rookies do full screen heavy tatsu. if you walk or dash under it you can walk or dash in the opposite direction to punish them once they land. But we warned, during v trigger Ken's heavy tatsu is an effective way to counter fireballs due to its ability to sale over fireballs and punish the opponent with its large hurt box.
he's throwing out lk in the air as a precautionary air to air, that's smart because I had though that his jumping light normals were completely useless.
what on earth is Capcom thinking when designing such skins?? Ken looks like a clown! Skins is a fun idea but I believe that one should still be able to recognize his character by seeing him and not needing to look up to read the name!!
Diamond Ken, not Momo level, but I think Ken's Air-game got nerfed without them buffing his ground game enough. So many characters normals are just superior to Ken's now, I think in tourney play, Momochi will have trouble with characters like Karin, Cammy, or even Birdie. He will fare well against Urien/Laura because of his defense and patience. Ken got weaker IMO. Still has good damage and a scary corner game, but footsie play got weaker.
That can't be Momochi, he is playing too fucking bad! His Akuma is better than this! Ken got nerfed to hell and lost all his combos or what? Edit: Ok, he gets a little better in the match against Urien, but still, he is Momochi, the best Ken in the world, I expect him to play better than this. I think Ken is real different in S2 and he's learning? That's the only explanation.
danny gonzalez In the first two fights, he was missing a lot of confirms and playing really scared, but in the fights against Urien, he start to play better.
***** he still top tier I just think he's more an A or A- tier because of how he still really easy to use. I main rog and i think he's mid tier now in season 2. You can pressure more with him now in his neutral game which was needed.
sfv is bad enough to be the worst street fighter input latency problems shit ryu killing real ken disabling the shoryuken whay did they call it street fighter 5 they should call it street tekken
just picked up ken for season 2. would love to see more of him in your compilations. great vid!!
Before I even watch, I know his Ken will be fantastic. TBH Ken still feels great in S2.
Rush G ken feels the same for me in S2.

What was with Ken Maxters in the thumbnail?
With that thumbnail I think you meant say, "does Momochi's Maximilian still got it"?
TheTrueProdigy101 lol am dead
TheTrueProdigy101 does that change his V-Trigger to something similar to R.Mika, where he summons Benny instead?
I fucking knew he would use green pimp
stand short whiff punish @ 0:27 yeah he still gud imo
That's standing fierce punch from bison
*bison main
CamMcCoy87 he's saying ken used standing short to punish, man.
Is Momochi's Season 2 Ken Still Good? Yeah, better than Ken's holiday costume at least!
10:16 Was that a set-up? Why didn't he just combo after v-trigger? He did this twice.
It causes hard knockdown. So he gets a setup/mixup after
Momochi still got it
That desperate moment for M.Bison after 1:55
And again. An awesome Video! Thx for these great Videos and your work! Greetz Talla

That's that macho man.
Is ken's lp > bk.mp target combo a link without counter hit?
I recently started Sfv and I'm decided to main Ken as I enjoyed him the most after trying all characters, I just reached silver but I'm hearing how he is nerfed and and a friend told me I should pick a higher tier character as my main and drop Ken... Hey Xuses
Has momochi been playing less lately? There aren't many matches of him, especially against high ranked players.
Skkittles No actually, I rely on UA-cam uploads of sfv gameplay 🙃
Don't rely on people who upload videos that much. It's simpler to just check CFN.
That skin is god awful
Victor . its maxmillian dood mod
Ronald Moss Lol what? That's from the Christmas bundle.
lol Pimp ken
idk, i kinda like it :/
I actually love it, but the majority hate it, but I'm a majority race wise so what does this mean!? Am I a unique snowflake?

Caden Hopkins Hold back, mp, hp?
Someone explain why do EX.DP after a target combo when EX.Tatsu does more damage?
crystal gonzalez you can vtrig cancel
Is that Ken or Owen Wilson from Zoolander? Wow.
How do you punish kens who do full screen heavy tatsu?
misterperson331 go under it. I'm a Ken main and usually rookies do full screen heavy tatsu. if you walk or dash under it you can walk or dash in the opposite direction to punish them once they land. otaku man see the thing is in season 2 they made his heavy tatsu lower so it's harder to dash under and I also play birdie...
misterperson331 well can you anti air with light chain or punish with ex bulk head?
it's -4 on block now. just block and do your bnb combo starting with a light button
Throw bait, whiff punish into super is super godlike at around 3:10
Ken is very hard to deal with for me,anybody got any tips he just seems all over place when you fight him.
Tweek the su Fantic what rank are you?
he's throwing out lk in the air as a precautionary air to air, that's smart because I had though that his jumping light normals were completely useless.

Yeah besides his story costume his outfits have been pretty whack.
Ahmad Debian ken always had bad costumes. since sf4 Capcom hate him

Luis Felipe Vitte Soligueti He's probably getting adjusted to this version of Ken. Chill.
SaviorSelf Yeah, I learned my lesson now. :)
Luis Felipe Vitte Soligueti where does he play bad? not trolling
danny gonzalez In the first two fights, he was missing a lot of confirms and playing really scared, but in the fights against Urien, he start to play better.
You're not referring to the parts where he ends a combo with ex dp and cancels in to trigger are you?
Still good? Ken is top 5 en S2 and S1 too...
TrussyH and S tier in bad connections lol
Hahaha True! So... Laura is SSSSS+ TIER in bad connections LOL
TrussyH
Hell nah
ken was moved to mid teir I think
***** he still top tier I just think he's more an A or A- tier because of how he still really easy to use. I main rog and i think he's mid tier now in season 2. You can pressure more with him now in his neutral game which was needed.
Ken is worse, Momochi is better
sfv is bad enough to be the worst street fighter input latency problems shit ryu killing real ken disabling the shoryuken whay did they call it street fighter 5 they should call it street tekken
Ken is weak
