I'm going to be pretty pissed if they don't tbh, the cards have the AI cores so if they don't let them use FSR 4 then that means they were put on the card for no reason and made all our 7000 Series card cost extra for literally nothing. Now granted for all I know those AI cores being taken off would've only saved the consumer like $20 but even if that's right (I feel like it would be a lot closer to $100 if not more) $20 is $20

I personally hope it goes rx7000 and later, anything with RDNA ai co-processors, I want AMD to put on their big boy pants and actually make people choose them for a change rather than having them be that thing that stops Nvidia charging you $700 for a 4060, for context I have a 6950xt and a 4090 but if rx9000 series finally gets ROCm to work like CUDA or better I can just ditch Nvidia because I hate what they have done to the industry as a whole.
Nice to see that AMD works with Activision for ML-FSR and i hope and still wait for implement Anti-Lag2 for COD / Warzone. It will be great if AMD pushes a feature like Reflex.

I think that enabling FSR 4.0 only for new GPUs is a choice that goes against AMD's marketing in recent years, but we can't rule it out because they have specified on several occasions that the new GPUs will have numerous improvements regarding AI, things aren't necessarily connected but they could.

You can use it on most of the GPUs using dp4a instructions but you'll have lower image quality and a performance hit, in fact most of the times you have to use XeSS balanced or performance to see a "decent" performance boost, ultra quality and quality can even run worse than native. If AMD does the same thing with fsr 4.0 most AMD users will still prefer fsr 3.1 because of performance.
I think this is a pleasant improvement in marketing and partnerships from AMD. Im glad they are also having some relevant partners actually adopt FSR 3.2 and FSR4 as opposed to something like Forspoken. CoD has a ton of players on PC and Space Marines 2 is a technically impressive and popular title as well. Now if AMD can just coincide FSR4's launch with RDNA4.
I believe Fsr with machine learning will be game changer, atleast with par with dlss or maybe even better since fsr has considered many different upscaling techniques other than ML so they might utilize all of them together!, excited for this

So it's confirmed! Cache below. Yes, due to TSVs, there is higher latency for Zen 5, which could really explain the poor gaming performance in Ryzen 9000 as a whole. That sub millimeter height increase is a huge deal when everything else is in nanometers. Intel Foveros has the exact same issue but worse. Can't wait for the 9950X3D now to upgrade my 5900X. But I'm not convinced we need Vcache in both CCDs. It will increase cost of CPU another $100 above 7950X3D! Some games may benefit, and I guess in future more games may too if they use more than 8 cores. Especially if game engines really start using Conversional AI in their games. Productivity workloads don't need so much L3 cache since each CCD already has 32MB. But I guess I will still pay for it though. $100 is nothing compared to GPU & motherboard prices these days. At least I could buy 6400MT/s low latency RAM instead of having to pay for 8000MT/s CUDIMM for Intel 285k.

Hopefully enough people upgrade that I can snag some good deals on 7000 series stuff. my 5950x is still doing perfectly fine but after experiencing the SC performance of my moms 7600 when I built her pc MAN do I want in on that extra sauce. Some of the games I play (cough mainly Fallout right now cough) are so poorly optimized cpu wise that her 7600 and 6600XT runs FO4 better than my 5950x and 7900XT and my feelings are only a lotta bit hurt by a $900 rig beating my pc xD
If the performance improvements are this small I'm starting the question the value of AM5 mobo longevity. Not much reason to swap out the CPU later on.

AMD has Watchdogs Legion, Farcry6, CODMW2, Hitman3. Hardware choice should be made based on your games. Some games prefer one or the other. I don't care so much about benchmarks as long as my card is cheaper and runs better the games i play.

Doesn't have to be GPU bound. Not all games benefit from that extra cache, or at least not to the same degree.
