For over a year i debated whether or not to download "the chosen" app!...i finally decided to download to my tablet, it was on my tablet foe a couple month's, but i never watched any of it at all, i think the holy spirit was telling me it was not a faithful or spiritual christian show, like God was saying it was unbiblical "don't watch"😮!...so, i deleted the app, and never watched any of it, i can say without a doubt "the chosen" is very unbiblical by all the thing's i have seen and heard, don't fall for it!...God bless us all to use our God given discernment, and stay on the narrow path with Jesus as our guide, amen

Because I know Jesus Christ and he is my ultimate authority and my ultimate everlasting joy, I have no wish or even urge to watch things like these, 1st because it breaks the 1st 2 commandments but secondly because I see God working every single day I don't need to watch it on a television..

You can sit here and call the the show all kinds of names guys. At the end of the day it was "the chosen" that got me to read the bible for the first time in my 31 years of beeing a baptised christian with a pastor as my grandfather. I've rebelled against god all my life but it was THIS show that made me take the first step towards christ.
@XXAVSS27 Don't pass judgement (Matthew 7:1) for it is only God's job to judge (Romans 14:4) He is fair and mighty, and truly the only one worthy of judgment (2 Timothy 4:8).
It's sending more people to hell then turning people to the true God. Narrow is the gate that leads to life and if your foundation is the chosen then you have no firm foundation of truth because they have perverted God's word much like Muslims and Mormons.

Ya I wouldn’t listen to McArthur. Great scholar but he is missing the big picture. And unless you are sure the Holy Spirit revealed something to you you shouldn’t make accusations without any facts or proof.
And if he has issues with the series he is doing quarreling and gossip instead of building up the Church. Paul would have sent a letter to the people doing the Chosen not doing public display to talk bad about them…

@@Eric_Blair it doesn't say that and the context matters. It says that Jesus is the savior of all people especially those who believe. Regardless of what people believe Jesus is the savior of all people that doesn't mean all people will be saved.
@@Johnramusic context, context. What about Romans 5:18&19 and Romans 11:32 and 1Cor 15:22. You need to rethink what salvation means in the context of these scriptures. I have come to believe that saving your soul and becoming saved has to do with entering the kingdom of heaven in this life, but ultimately for eternity God through Christ based on the scriptures has saved all 2Cor 5:14. Your fundamentalist religious leaders won't and will never see it that way

@@yonelrodriguez2031 yes! Not sure if McArthur is a Calvinist but he definitely believes in a literal lake of fire for those who do not confess Jesus as Lord. He's a fundamentalist. I believe Christ saved all; when he died, all died and rose alive with Him. Most just don't know that about themselves -- yet...
Just found God last December after 36 years of my life. I bought my first bible and been reading it. I discovered this show a lil bit after my Bible came in the mail and let me tell you I love watching the show and comparing scenes to the scriptures, but do remember there is added stuff to make the show more tv watch able, so please read your bible while watching the show. There was scenes I knew was not in the Bible but there is POWERFUL scenes in that show that do appear in the Bible that’ll make you break down like a child. Just remember to read your bible also and you’ll be able to tell what was added for TV. READ YOUR BIBLE!!!!
My wife and I are going through season 2, and the show does a good job of references to Biblical stories, see Meleck's confession and compare with the parable of the Good Samaritan.
Don't you think that, if you constantly have to check the show against your Bible, there is something amiss?
@@maggie81180 I don’t check it. When I read my bible and pay attention to the story I compare it to the show and can figure out what was added for TV.
Good analysis, if they only used the exact words in scripture the story wouldn’t have continuity without adding small talk dialogue to the SCRIPT OF A TV SHOW! It would be terrible to watch without some poetic license to flesh out the characters. They do a great job of humanizing the characters. I don’t understand why they made such a big deal about that in the review. Also I think that if they only used the words in the Gospel it wouldn’t make anything more than a stiff feeling movie that’s a few hours long. It’s definitely family feel good entertainment that’s better than anything else in the current television world.
@@stylee920 exactly!. I loved the scene when Jesus and the apostles were jumping around in the river rough housing and chicken fighting, laughing, having a good time!. But I know it doesn’t say that in the Bible, unless I haven’t read that part yet. But it’s one of my fav scenes.
If you can distinguish between Scripture and creative liberty, then The Chosen is a fantastic and deeply moving series. It brings glory to God and is a faith booster to many who see it. Don't be discouraged by the naysayers in the comments. Watch it and enjoy, but of course don't make it a substitute for reading your Bible and praying to Jesus.

They have to have creative liberty to have most of the dialogue. Tough to make a series without creative license. I know people on both sides of the argument about the Chosen. My opinion is that as you said, being able to distinguish between reality and a show. I find it to be the very same as the debate about which Bible is the “right” Bible. When it comes to the Chosen or the many translations of Bibles….whatever gets someone to Jesus Christ is a good thing. I believe there is a strong chance that the Chosen might have gotten a nonbeliever to look deeper into Jesus. Maybe GOD used the Chosen to get them there. I’m not bothered by re-creations in tv shows about Jesus because we as Christians understand the difference between the wheat and the chaff. Now…..if they did something that was in direct opposition of Scripture that wouldn’t be good.
The chosen helped me get back to reading my Bible and loving God more !

Chosen has revived TV watching non Christian into a thirst for wanting to learn more about Christ and thus going to churches and then accepting Jesus and getting baptized!! I know this for a fact!!
Wow! If that’s so, then people are really ignorant and dumbed-down. The Bible stands alone. The demonic show is based on demonic beliefs. You should know what the Word of God states, that NO man comes to Jesus unless God draws him. Doesn’t have anything to do with a show. It’s Gods Spirit, mercy and grace and HE will not share His glory with another.
They are receiving the other Christ.

Same here, Brett. I was lost for 42 years of my life. Then I heard about the Chosen and it helped me get closer to God. Now I know the truth. I'm a follower of Jesus Christ these past 5 months now. God is great!
I was hoping to find a comment like this on this feed. Lots of stones instead of gathering the sheep on this channel to pray for our brothers and sisters. If one of our brothers and or sisters fall we help them, pray for them, teach them what the Holy Spirit is putting on our hearts to share with them instead of blasting them and "cutting them up and down" with words in the public square, so-to-speak. It's this self- righteous behaviour that made me run from religious spirit sheep when I was a new believer. We need to be reminded that we have all fallen short and none of us are perfect. I thought, biblically, we are to address the faults or noticeable sins that Holy Spirit put on our hearts to our brother and or sister in person or one on one first before involving the rest of the Body of Christ. Very disappointing behaviour that I have witnessed in this feed. It's really sad 😔😢 I can't help thinking that we will ALL have to give an account to our Father for the words that we have spoken!
@Fran S. In the end many people will say Lord,lord didn't I prophesy for you? Jesus will turn them away saying I do not know you. He uses there good for his glory. But you can not speak out of both sides of your mouth and believe Jesus and God the father are ok with that. Are they doing some good? Yes God uses that for his glory. THANK YOU! The show was not created to be church or a substitution for being pastored or reading the Bible. When you go on their social media MANY people have decided to go back to church, start reading their Bibles and some who have never read the Bible are doing so. I do not understand the distain at all.

After Jesus was crucified, nobody was ever told to be 'born again '. People were told to BELIEVE in Jesus' death burial and resurrection.
@carolbassant2490 I was in rebellion against God before I was saved, God had a plan for me and it fell exactly the way he wanted it.
All I know is that a friend wanted to give me his bible before he moved and i refused it, God had a different plan for me all that time and I never even knew it, He/ friend moved out and a few days later I was outside with my dogs and something caught my eye I walk over which was a hop and a skip because we lived in four plex homes, and there before my eyes sat the Bible he/ friend wanted me to have, I took it home brushed it off and stuck it in my closet, I knew there was a God, but I did not know him, Later in the week a man moved in around the other side and he introduced me to the Gospel and within a a few months of reading and listening I was standing outside my place with a few friends and something touched me and all I could think of was that bible, I ran and got it and could not get enough.
Yes, I know who my Heavenly Father is and he knows Me 🙏
I believe the Chosen is going to win many, many people to Christ. I am a strong Christian person and I feel closer to Jesus thru this series.

I LOVE THE CHOSEN and the portrayal of JESUS CHRIST and his ministry at that time when GOD sent his ONLY SON who was CRUCIFIED and takes our sins, IF we accept him! Huge fan, and I watch the videos over and over again. One of my FAVORITE scenes was when JESUS healed the crippled man at the pool..

There is another Jesus as the Bible warns false Christ and in the Old Testament it warns Israel to not make an imagine of God…
And in the book of revelation it warns those who add and take away from Gods Word.
Almost all of the story the chosen has portrayed of Mary is wrong and as the seasons go by the actual Bible is getting less and less.
I agree. Because it depicts the hardship of human life on normal days for which we face on Earth. They add just just things that weren't added in the bible, to further help understand how their lives are not much different from ours and task they faced and to draw you in the show to get closer Jesus. The thing is, this video and channel seems to be the doctrine to divide more Christians than ever because some decan or pastor that claims they know the Bible more than you or me. Is upset because it didn't follow exactly how the book has it. Without them realizing that the shows purpose is to draw people in to the gospel so they can go to the book. This video shows us that just like Jerusalem 2000 years ago, when Christ walked. That decans and some pastors are like pharisees. Do not let any pride flag get in between your relationship with Christ as these poor ministers had did.
Dallas explained that the chosen is not promoting the pride flag. It belongs to an independent contractor. Dallas does not expect all his actors and contractors to be believers. This is just a testimony to how God can use anyone to glorify his name.
As if he couldn't have chosen someone who wasn't gay or represented the gays?
True, but be careful with reasonable thinking like that. Even though Christ said that all are welcome, and through his love and grace the darkness will be washed away. Perhaps this crew member will find God while working on the show. People claim to have faith in God but then have NO faith in his will being done. They, like their ancestors, worry too much about reading the Bible like it's a bureaucratic law book than understanding it's a testimony to God's love and how to receive it. Not a book of condemnation. The only one who condemns is God himself. And they forget this. I pray he softens their hearts.
Well I’ve got two points: should these people be working on a christ centered show?
And his point wasn’t that they allowed it. It was that they kept it in the shot and never said that the pride flag is detestable and abhorred by God.
My thought is more akin to the first point, should we allow these people to work on a crust centered movie. Jesus invited sinners to the table… but not the Lord’s Supper. Do we allow these sinners to church but not in a show about Jesus? I’m not too sure we should.
@@usemyduckie9919 Kept it in shot? for 2 frames in the behind the scenes footage on the camera rig of a contractor that owns his own rig and can put on it what he wants and if he was fired for having said flag would cause a lawsuit to close the show? I mean, stop looking to be outraged. You see the symbol of GOD and let the devil convince you it's an evil symbol. what a joke.
@@usemyduckie9919 Yes... Maybe this is God's way of making them hear the gospel in some shape or form, as they are now forced to listen to it because they are paid to. Where before, there was no way they'd ever sit down and listen. Why do you guys all jump to the worst possible conclusions? You have no faith.

We are called to be His imitators, to love as He loves, which helps others see Him in us & may also come to believe, & shame on us to behave in ways that lead others astray. * our faith can allow us behaviors to help others see Christ & bring them to faith, so it is perfectly fine that this show helps you grow closer w/ our Father, His Son, & the Holy Spirit * there is zero shame *

One of the things Jesus wants is unit and you are promoting disunity and criticizing people that want to spread the good news. You need to be changed (and I do to) and to be part of the Body. The chosen series has made me realize that Jesus also walked on the earth in His humanity. Fully God and Fully man. It made me realize that Jesus is not this high unreachable higher power but my Lord and saviour who experience the life that I am going through except He never sinned. This show made Jesus more relatable to me
You could read any of the Gospels and see Jesus's humanity when He was crying in the garden to God the night before He died for us.

I’m glad that you understand, but don’t allow yourself to forget His place. He is still the God that can destroy a whole nation, like Sodom and Gamorrah, He is still the same God that parted the Red Sea, He is a loving God, but His mighty hand of justice should never be forgotten.

I commented on the chosen video where Dallas talks about this situation. My comment was clean and from the Bible and they took it down. Gone. I want to stand for God. When you make a series about God's Son there is no room for the sickness of the world unless there is a scene with Jesus telling the camera man to put away his flag, sin no more and follow Me. This hurts people who love God cause it hurts God. A house divided can not stand.
Lots of people are having their comments deleted even if they're quoting the bible... if it doesn't agree with what they're saying they will delete it.

We are warned by The Lord not to add to or take away from scripture. God is very serious about His Word.
They have not "changed a word in the Bible". They have depicted the Gospels in film in a way that people can grasp. A tool to get people to examine the life of Jesus and hopefully to read/study the Bible. You can make the same argument that even translating the Bible into another language is forbidden and we should all learn Hebrew and/or Aramaic and read the Dead Sea Scrolls. Translations ALWAYS alter a work to some degree.
Is making a movie, or drawing a picture, or painting a scene depicted in the Bible a sin? Any representation made by man will be imperfect. Should we NOT make any representations?

@@johnelder4273 well said. I'd almost say let these insufferables go about their life and not get to enjoy what we have by watching The Chose. I have cried so many times over the pure expression of Jesus's love on the screen. I can't get that feel from the Bible, not fully at least. This show is causing a resurgence of people turning to God and believing in Jesus. Praise God for giving Dallas and his crew the talent to make this seem so real and moving.
They are not rewriting the Bible here. The LDS may be in trouble, but a show adding drama to bring historical figures to life is not. Just watch it with your Bible open and discern for yourself. You already do that without watching this show. BTW this show has brought my husband to his personal walk following Christ. God uses whom He chooses to glorify Himself for our good.
Then don't follow John MacArthur because he adds to God's Word. He has been shown doing this on video when trying to indoctrinate his idol worshippers to believe Jesus did not die for everyone's sins. That's heresy.

I'm Catholic I have accepted Jesus as my Savior. I AM saved by Jesus. He IS MY SAVIOR. I do NOT worship Mary. I do look up to her as a woman of immense faith and as a role model. Who among you would stand at the cross and watch your Son be tortured and killed and still stand strong in your belief in God? I do NOT worship the saints. I admire them and look them as role models as a Christian should live.
I'm glad for you, but know that is not true for the vast majority of Catholics, because they do follow the doctrines of the RCC. So is transubstantiation, saying useless repetitious prayers through the Rosary, confessing sins to a priest to get absolution by adding some sort of work to the finished work of Christ, so many more things. If you love Jesus, honor Him by finding a church that teaches the truth, not false doctrines of any sect, denomination, or other false church. Time is short. Get serious about your love for Him.
Do you use the confessional to ask for absolution? If you do, you are rejecting Jesus' sacrificial work done on the cross and Him as the only one with authority to forgive you of your sins. 1 Timothy 2:5,6
Do you say the Hail Mary or repeat the Penitential Act? If you do, you are sinning by praying to the dead. (Deuteronomy 18:10-11)
Do you pray repetitive prayers using a rosary? Jesus condemned such practises in Matt 6:7-8.
Do you genouflect to the figure of Christ hanging on the cross? If you are, you are committing idolatry and breaking the 2nd Commandment, the one removed from the Catholic Bible. Exodus 20:4-6
Do you partake in the Catholic mass? If you do, you are accepting that a mortal man can bring Jesus down from heaven at will and be re-sacrificed on the altar - Hebrews 9:24-28 states that Christ was only offered ONCE as a sacrifice and the scriptures are clear on the finality of His sacrifice on our behalf. It was a one-time offering for sin, never to be repeated.
There are many pitfalls to Catholicism. If you truly love Jesus Christ as your Saviour you MUST distance yourself from the paganism in Roman Catholicism. Keep watching John Macarthurs sermons - you will not find a man more devoted to teaching sound Biblical theology.

Thank you for your concern, but converting to the Catholic faith has brought me closer to Jesus. No prayer is is useless. Luke 18 verse 1-8 parable of the Persistent Widow. As for confessions to a priest, transubstantiation, I, too had reservations until I read the official doctrine of the church which explained it all in detail and cleared misconceptions that I had and is all based on scripture. I appreciate your concern, there's is so many misconceptions about the Catholic Church, even among some Catholics. I converted to Catholicism as an adult after much prayer, research, asking a lot of questions, reading the Official Doctrine of the Church. It IS based on scripture. I suggest you read the doctrine for yourself. it was an eye opener for me. Jesus, Himself said, He has many flocks. There are certainly some false churches and false teaching out there, I agree with you on that. If you do confession, you are possibly avoiding biblical repentance. There is no mediary between us and God after the veil was torn. That being said if you don’t believe in the teachings of the Catholic Church why continue to be a Catholic ? It’s a works based system, not a biblical system. The more you read scripture the more Catholicism is clearly unbiblical.

I have been a practicing Catholic since I started Catholic School in 7th grade. I probably was not the best Catholic in my younger years, but I could never turn my back on it. As I grew older i became more in line with the teachings of the church. And now , The Chosen, has shown me the human side of Jesus, Mary, his apostles, and why I love this church, their teachings, and the city of God.

The Chosen is a large part of what fueled my desire to know more. It showed me how wrong I was about who Jesus really is. Now, not a single day, nor a single hour goes by that I don't think about Him and search for the truth in the bible and in my everyday life. I understand on one hand, but it ignited a strong desire inside myself, and I believe that's a good thing.

What a beautiful, honest testimony. It honestly moved me to tears. The Chosen has had the same effect upon my lukewarm, believing family. The people coming out AGAINST The Chosen remind me of the Pharisee/Sanhedrin attitudes towards the minutia of the laws, RATHER than the human factors. We have a world heading to hell on a fast train. Frankly, ANYTHING, that gets us back to the Word of God, is a positive in my world view.
Of you need entertainment to come to the word then question why you're there. The bible will SHOW YOU EVERYTHING WRONG with that show and make you not want to watch it at all.

I think something important to understand is that people like me (a filmmaker and a movie nerd) are easy to reach through film and TV. I’ve never gotten the impression that the chosen was trying to add to the Bible in a heretical way, and since watching the show I’ve starting praying and reading my Bible again and I now feel I can visualize scripture when I read it for the first time in my life. It’s not my job to cast judgements on the creators of the show, but God has 100% reached people including myself through the Chosen.
I agree. I have been writing about the child Jesus and there is not much in the Bible except "He grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man" But we all know that children are drawn to Jesus and it would be so amazing to read more about how Jesus as a child would behave and I think that a movie can tell the truth by sticking to the pillars of the Bible but add in stories that really make sense.

I watched this production from start to finish.
We live in a day in age where it is important to know fact from fiction. And I agree The Chosen has taken some liberty with the Gospels. But this production has brought me closer to opening up my own Bible than ever before. It was because of this show I was able to see a relationship with Jesus Christ again. Regardless of the controversies the production team is facing right now, I am grateful I watched it and the impact it had on me.

Jesus did turn water into wine at a wedding, He did heal a man who was lowered from the ceiling in a house where He was preaching, Him and His disciples did reap a harvest on the Sabbath and were criticized for it, He did feed 5,000 people with just a few loaves of bread and some fish, He did speak to a Samaritan woman at the well, He did cast out demons, healed leapers, allowed a lame man to walk at the pool of Bethesda. The sermons and lessons were also taken from verses in the Bible.
All of these scenes they depicted in the show and are stories of the Gospels. The main liberty they took were the Roman soldiers and filling in the blanks of the timeline with things Jesus and His disciples most likely did in their free time. I'm not Mormon and I see huge tones of Christianity in it.

Just recently my chiropractor liked my sweatshirt and asked what it was. It was the fish swimming against the current. He thought it had some significance to the Bible. He was very interested in what I told him and wanted to know how he could watch this. I gave him the information and he said he was definitely going to download the App. People are hungry for the Lord and if this TV series plants a seed in the right direction, it’s all good.

This Chosen show is sadly so popular with people who call themselves Christians. I strongly suspect that many people now watch that show way more than they read their Bibles. And the way they portray the Lord Jesus Christ on the Chosen as a sinner I think is part of why so many supposed Christians now don’t believe that Jesus was without sin. Destroying the meaning of the Gospel and the power of salvation through faith in the blood of Christ alone. And leading people to hell which is the agenda of satan.

My whole church has been inundated with people falling over themselves to talk about and glorify the Chosen. When my husband asked about it to our pastor my husband was flatly put in his place which is beneath the authority of the pastor! 95% of Dallas’ “plausible” dialog is incorrect interpretation of the Bible. After Mary Magdalene had 7 demons removed from her by Jesus she didn’t go back out and fall into sexual sin!!! Or Peter worried because he had a gambling debt!!!! I could go on and on. I’ve been led to watch The Chosen and the Holy Spirit has driven me to dive into it to better understand the culture of the time for those living in the times of Jesus. I’ve been diving into scripture with renewed vigor! There are so many lost souls…..if The Chosen is bringing the lost to the Bible then I am thankful for it.

If you had said « renewed vigor to find and know and attach myself to Jesus in the Bible », it would carry more weight to attribute it to the Holy Spirit. Intellectual, cultural and historical interest, though good in themselves, can absolutely have other sources than the Holy Spirit.
This was not a mistake. This was a calculated decision. I can't imagine that the editing team missed it completely. They chose this clip to release for a reason.
This is an assumption. Do you know that to be the case? Scripture calls us to act charitably with all. I think it's necessary to think well of a person until the evidence convinces you otherwise. Before I would say anything close to that, I would have to investigate intensely for a great period of time. Jesus has so many words about this.

I understand that not everything in the show is in the bible and it is what makes the story flow. What I like is that even those scenes that are not of the bible they don't contradict the bible's essence and in fact those scenes completely help me see more of how much God loves us as we are.

I was raised Cathoilc. I always believed in God, but never knew Jesus personally. We had a Bible, but never read it. It merely sat on our coffee table as essentially a decoration. It wasnt until college, that my friend Chris finally preached the gospel to me. He himself grew up Catholic and in turn has someone preach to him. I accepted Christ a month later in October of 2000 and I was so excited to tell everybody. When I went home and told my parents, they were offended and my mom said "You've always been a Christian." I tried to explain what happened that night and they didn't want to hear it. From that point I prayed that they would seek and accept the true Christ, but they remained firmly in their Catholic beliefs, still largely occupied with doing works and still feeling guilt and shame over many things. Only Jesus can forgive our sins, not some man put into power by other men under the guise of divine authority. Jesus's message was so pure, that Satan has done so much to twist and distort it, because he doesn't want anyone to get to heaven. We must first trust in the Lord and be saved, then we must pray for other and preach the good news so that they may be in His presence for all of eternity.

I'm now 73 and have 2 adult sons.
3-1/2 years ago both sons suddenly stopped talking to me.
They told me they hated Christians and Christianity.
That was it. I've had no contact at all with them since that day.
I'm going to pray that Father GOD introduces your parents to His Son Jesus so that they get to know Him in the way that you do.
And, if you might, could you please pray that my sons find the Light of Jesus that they don't know they are looking for?

There is nothing in catholicism that states you need to be ashamed of anything. Christ himself told his apostles that what sins they forgive would be forgiven and what they held would be held.
Catholics are not to believe that only works can save you. As Paul said, faith without works is dead. The works are not what save you but the works proceed through faith as the Holy spirit proceeds through the Father and Son. They are expected, as the faithful are told that we must do works.

As someone who fell away from Christianity for many years, I have to say that this show moved me to once again read the Bible, and find my way back home.
The show may take creative liberties with the gospel, but I believe that it enhances the gospel for modern minds.
The show is pretty faithful to the gospel, and we as Christians need to read the word to make sure what we watch is accurate. This show has helped myself and others find God, or come back to Him. Why are we trying to demonize the few good programs that talk about our Lord in a good light?

True believers will see entertainment for entertainment, and will go to the source for the true message. We as Christians do not get to see gospel on screen very often, and it is a great tool help christians see the word played out as accurately as possible. It may not be 100 percent accurate, but it is very close.
If someone handed you a bottle of soda and said it's 99% soda and 1% poison would you drink? Or would you refuse because it would kill you? It's the same thing when it comes to the word of God whether the word of God is in the Bible where you have to read it or being portrayed by actors on a TV screen for entertainment purposes. The word of God needs to be 100% accurate because if it's not and you're reading it or watching it and it's only 99% accurate and 1% a lie that 1% lie can confuse you mislead you and kill you and when I say kill you I mean send you straight to hell. That 1% lie is a death sentence. That 1% lie as small as it is is not worth going to hell over I don't care how entertaining it is. It is better to have 100% accuracy and read the word yourself so that you know when you read the word of God that there is no 1% poison in that word that you're reading that's going to send you to hell. So that you know when you're reading the word of God there will be no confusion because the scripture says God is not a God of confusion. Meaning confusion comes from the devil. So in this TV show "The chosen" It's not 100% accurate. That means there will be parts in that TV show that are misleading, cause confusion, outright deception. All of those things are pure poison to the viewers watching that show. All of those things are one-way ticket to hell. I would not take the chance to be misled or deceived or to allow confusion to seep in by watching that show instead of reading the word of God for myself. I want to go to heaven I do not want to go to hell therefore I do not take the chance by watching that show and allowing the devil to have his way to deceive me or mislead me or confuse me. I'm reading the word of God from the Bible to make sure I have 100% accuracy with no poison in it at all. I recommend you do the same. I assume you're an adult so you're at the age of accountability so whatever you do is your choice your soul will be accountable by your choices that you make. So on the day of judgment when you stand before the Lord he'll say one of two things. Scripture doesn't need any "scene enhancements", what is written shouldn't've been tampered with just to entertain an audience. She was complelled to view Scripture from an entirely different lens, a lens that made more sense to her than all of our discussions and study combined. THIS was Gods way to reconnect with Him! If it takes a show to bring your bible to life then you don't know God, I'm not trying to be mean, but God's Word is living and shouldn't need anything else to be alive for you. It may be bringing people to a different Jesus, don't be deceived, many will come in His name. Just be careful with that show, I used to love the show too and then red flags started popping out to me.
It is the bible that ought to bring you to life, to know God, who he is and who you are in him, who you are, a sinner and who Christ is, the only blemish free lamb of God who died, rose and saved us from God’s wrath. God does not need The Chosen to ‘help’ him get his children’s attention. Why would God use an entertainment production run by people who worship a false god? @@Psalm2710_ I believe what he is trying to convey is that if you watch the show and then read the stories you see emotion that you couldn't see before, the idea that these people most likely broke down in tears or the story of the woman by the well where she went into town jumping and yelling and telling everyone she saw about the Messiah. The Chosen is not a replacement for the bible but it can show you things lying under the surface. I understand that this show doesn't touch your heart and I get that and I have family who feels like that BUT you have no right to attest to other peoples relationship with God. What? I've felt the Holy Spirit while watching this show and I've felt convicted while watching this show and I've paused this show and prayed and worshipped. God has use for everything. Another big thing that the bible talks about but the chosen exemplifies is the hate thrown at Jesus because he spoke "Blasphemies". Pharisees were stuck in tradition and refused to believe that God could use new methods to reach people. The Chosen should not be what our faith relies on but that does not mean that God can't use it to remind people of him. Just don't claim that you can attest to anyone's faith unless you are an intercessor and have felt it or you're a prophet and have seen it.

You can be angry with what I’m saying you can get defensive, but in the quiet time you need to ask yourself, should I focus on the words of Jesus for a bit? The Gospel will be preached to the whole world. God is able to use anything to save whomever he wants..but woe to those who aren't honoring him...
This is exactly what The Chosen is trying to do - reach 1 billion people with the message of Jesus!
The show is harmless as long as you understand that it's not meant to replace Biblical texts, as it actually disclaims in the first episode. The show will become harmful however, once you start taking it in as fact, instead of fiction based on reality.
And this is the problem. More than half of people watching the show, would not dig deeper in the Bible and will start believing lies about Jesus and his character.
@@elegantwalker That is certainly a problem. But again, they literally say things have been added at the beginning of the show, so if people start believing lies then that's more on them than it is on the creators.
@@elegantwalkerIt’s a difficult thing to weight in , even if it’s true. People who might be in some way adding unto scripture in an indirect way , could be held liable. If by anyway do they lead astray the little ones, God will judge them.
For the more mature and understanding, I think the show is fine. No movie / series or book will out weight what we believe in.

Christians everywhere are not coming together over a tv series. I know many who know nothing of this show, busy doing the mandates of Christ. And it's not about theology, it's about the accurate Portrayal of the God Man! On this is where strong Believers are going to analyze and they have that right.
As I've been watching videos like this one and reading some of the comments, all I can see is Rabbi Akiva and the members of the Sanhedrin portrayed in The Chosen yelling and railing at Jesus. If these people had lived back then, they would have been the ones volunteering to nail Jesus to the cross. They're completely missing it...The Holy Spirit is working through Dallas and Ryan and Tyler to create a television show to draw people back to the Word of God. Face it, few unchurched (or even churched) people are going to pick up the Bible on their own. The Chosen is bringing the words of Scripture to life with a little plausible artistic license thrown in. If you haven't watched ALL of The Chosen with your Bibles open, then you cannot speak about something you don't know. Watch The Chosen and read your Bible. If people were worshiping the show and only watching it for Truth, I would be worried, but there is testimony after testimony after testimony of how God has used The Chosen to bring people back to the Bible. The portrayal of Jesus by actor Jonathan Roumie is incredibly beautiful, and springs forth from his personal relationship with Jesus Christ and desire to honor and glorify Him through his work. The more people rail against and shriek about how terrible they believe The Chosen to be, the more Satan cackles with glee from the division they're actions are causing. The world is watching us.

The 12 individuals chosen by Jesus were very different, much like our Christian denominations. I truly believe that this movie is based on the life and work of our Savior Jesus. What has been added to the stories is meant to provide better continuity to what is already written, without altering the Scriptures. In the comments, I have seen that many people have converted because of this movie, people who would never set foot in a church. Regardless of finding a gay pride flag in a scene by mistake of someone, I thank Mr. Dallas for this film. They've reduced Jesus to a mere man, having to run His sermon by one of His disciples to come up with a good one. He's frustrated and paces trying to figure out what and how to say it.
Yet, the Bible teaches that people & religious leaders, experts in the Scriptures marveled at His wisdom, knowledge, and presentation of such at even the young age of 12.
And Jesus said that He only speaks and does what the Father tells Him. That He & the Father are One.
Further, they have Jesus saying that He *IS* the Law, which is a Mormon teaching.
Well, NO! Jesus said He came to fulfill the law. And the Bible clearly teaches that the law was powerless to save. But what it failed to do, Christ did!
So these (among many others) are serious misrepresentations of Who Jesus is. They are teaching * another Jesus*, as the Bible warns about. Galatians 1:6-9

And BTW that flag was a workers flag on his own camera because Dallas doesn't discriminate on who works at the chosen. There's Christians working there and non Christians. Dallas made his own video regarding the flag and all the questions everyone had. Dallas does not support it. Of course the maker of this video didn't make that clear. Just trying to cause division from within.

@ashleywalton2508: There are people who still criticize Mel Gibson's The Passion of Christ, but I know several people who have been deeply touched by that movie; some of them were saved at the movie theater! God can use whatever he wants to reach people. I have only watched one episode of Chosen but prefer some of the other movies of the past. I do love the Passion of Christ and Jesus of Nazareth that starred Robert Powell. Don't get me wrong here, but I do think Hollywood needs to find men who represent the true Jewishness of the characters. Jesus was not a fair-skinned dude.......just saying.

The script reveals they are wolves without needing to see the flag. Anyone who didn't see it yet please get saved because the spirit of truth is powerful and you don't need man telling you what the bible means or point out false teaching if you have it. Their purpose is obvious to actually make you DOUBT the bible is God's word. There were multiple times in season 1, Luke trying to come up with the words he wrote...and episode 1 of season 2 was unwatchable it was so bad. I was so mad I haven't watched any more.

That's what John MacArthur and Voddie Beacham don't understand. It's a show! So why are they talking about the Mormons or going into actors background & judging them. The Chosen--- It's God's gift to mankind. It's changing lives. Testimonies of many now seeking God. The show is not teaching mormonism nor what the actors believe. It's do sad to see & hear pastors who can't see when God has His hand in something. This is what satan wants for people to not watch this show because it's causing people to seek God & causing them to read the Bible. It's not just a TV show. There using the Word of God to depict the truth but adding lies and deception to keep people from coming to salvation in Christ. You can really tell who has the Spirit of Truth or the spirit of falsehood by their comments. You need to repent and believe in Christ before it's too late.
These are the same “religious” people that Jesus despised. The Chosen IS dramatized but it still reveals the story and the glory of Jesus Christ our savior. Probably more people have been reached and turned to the gospel because of this series. When my wife was watching it I got very tired of correcting the mistakes and defending the gospel and it was causing a wedge between us but I had to speak to the truth about what I knew was wrong and the truth and it was only the first part of the season one she kept looking for more and couldn’t find them thank God
I started off watching but it didn’t resonate with my spirit so I stopped watching. I kept trying to convince myself like Dallas said that it was okay to “fill in” parts that weren’t specifically addressed in the Bible but I couldn’t.
For all those who say that The Chosen started them to reading their Bibles then I hope you recognized the error of the movie. It’s NOT okay to add to the Word of God.

He says a quote from the book of Mormon. His human father is not Jewish race but an African man. On and on. That guy has zero aura of authority. Jesus spoke with and carried great authority. This guy acts like a neutered priest. Well, he's Catholic so no wonder. These details MATTER. The spirit behind the actors and writers MATTERS. This "Jesus" aligns with the spirit of the age and that's why he's so loved and accepted. Not so the real guy.

I love the scene from The Upper Room with Nicodemus . I looked it up in the Bible it's like the Bible coming alive. May God continue to bless the chosen project , to me it's like a parable - Jesus told parables in the Bible and He said some will understand and others will not . I joined or signed up for the LDS 2 weeks ago because I was trying to find a way how to get back to God again for the 6 times and when i heard the stories about the Mormons, and my mother & aunt told me about them..; I was like "what did i get myself into", so now I'm trying find a way to get myself out of it, but i don't know how or what to tell them 😅 I think God been showing me some signs for the pass week and this week too by showing me a videos about them and so on. Well, today i removed myself from that religion and ask God for forgiveness.

You may be anywhere, but if you are in Salt Lake County there is a great Christian church called K2. In Utah county there is really great church called Centerpoint. If you’re not in Utah, it is easier to find Christian churches. I pray that you can find a good church community to help you grow as a Christian. (But remembering that there is no perfect church.)
The things said in this video about Mormons are simply untrue tho. I grew up and was raised Mormon for 19 years, tho I’m not a member of the church anymore, I still cringe whenever I see it grossly misrepresented by videos like this. Encouraged ignorance is satans greatest weapon of deceit.
No mormon believes God came down and had sex with Mary, she is called a virgin both BEFORE and AFTER christs conception in the Book of Mormon. No Mormon believes in “infinite celestial sex” there’s no doctrine to back that up. And the “getting your own planet” thing was just a cultural myth that circulated among mormons in the mid 20th century, not doctrine. 90% of the rubbish in these videos are random out of context niche quotes from 100+ years ago by past leaders in the church, just because a leader said it once, doesn’t mean that’s what mormons actually believe.
