I saw on twitter from the Dunedin Blue Jays that Yeuni Munoz has been discharged from the hospital and is now in MLB concussion protocol. Dunedin posted it on July 9. I hope and pray for him to get better and be healthy fast. I have seen a lot of players getting injured before.
Omg! All the prayers for this young man! No matter what team you root for, no one wants to see this EVER! I hope he's okay.😢
I understand not wanting to show injured getting treated but other sports do. I agree with the part about the ambulance. He should have been loaded on a stretcher. This way he is only moved once. I wish they would have shown a replay.
I did a slow motion run of this play. The 2nd base man's tag was coming towards the runner's face or maybe it tagged him, and pushed his head backwards where the back of his head slammed into the ground! That is a nasty shot. I got a concussion playing hockey. I slipped and fell backwards hitting the back of my head. I was unconscious for 10-15 minutes. I had a splitting headache for days however.
I'm sorry that happened to you : ( I was there since I'm a Threshers fan -- I am also worried about Nikau, the 2nd basemen, I can't imagine what he's going through about hurting him so badly
Thanks so much for that. I was wondering why I was watching a sixteen and a half minute video of a dugout waiting, patiently, for some type of replay which for some reason didn't happen. Hoping the guy is okay, but what a waste of sixteen minutes.
I bet they called the game after that right? Right??
@EdsterIII your personal description of your incident, especially the after effects, sound strikingly familiar to an incident I had after falling off my bed onto a hard floor back in late May due to an Epileptic seizure. I was in and out of consciousness for nearly 2 hours due to additional seizures. When I came to and sat up, the lights were on but nobody was home, so to speak. Memory problems persist, but had a nasty headache for over a month and hit my head two addition times, once five days later and once two weeks later. Haven't been the same since.
TLDR: Co concussions are definitely nothing to scoff at. If you think you have one, go to the ER and get tested.
It looks like the tag came down forcefully under the rim of the helmet and pushed it back and off the runners head. This would cause the rigid bottom of the back of the helmet to hit hard on the spinal cord at the top of the neck. Then the runners unprotected head hit the ground. Ouch!
I hope that he is ok and the fans that booed after they called the game are not true baseball fans
You are 100% correct. There is not a game in existence that is worth more than a person's health or life. After something this bad happens, calling the game or postponing it is the RIGHT THING TO DO. I remember one of the most sickeningly disgusting things that happened during a "sporting event". There was a Professional Wrestling Event going on. I'm sure many people will remember this. A wrestler was supposed to rappel down from the rafters like a Superhero flying in to save the day. They chose to use a cheaper alternative that wasn't as safe. He fell to the ring, hitting the ring post before landing in the corner of the Wrestling ring. He was worked on in the ring, and en route to the hospital. He died. A husband and a father. His blood was still seen in the ring yet Vince McMahon chose to NOT cancel the event or even postpone it. He didn't want to potentially have to refund the PPV and ticket prices. They decided to continue the event. I remember wrestler's years later talking about how they were going to have to wrestle in Owen's blood, again still in the corner of the ring. This was in my opinion one of the most disturbing, disgusting, sickeningly vile, and greedy actions that I ever saw. I began to start to do research on what type of person would do this. What I learned about the wwe's company and the owner Vince McMahon and his family was beyond disturbing! Life is precious, time is precious. Those are two things that once lost can never be returned. Time passes, it's gone. When you pass away here, your life here is done. If someone gets hurt, and they decide to stop play and either postpone or cancel the game outright, I can respect that decision.
I was there, I'm even in the video in background -- no one booed -- more of a sigh of tension, since we all weren't sure what was going on
@@EdsterIIIThe next 2 week vacation I’m taking, I should be able to read your entire comment. By chance, is there a link to some cliff notes available?
Honestly I don’t blame him…. There are plenty of men on the roster
@@alunamichaelsare you deaf? 14:40. Clearly says “booo I want my money back”. You were probably the person that booed. You are stupid
When he looks back at the incident he's gonna be like "dam, I was so out of it I swear I was hearing Christmas music"
So no replay WTF
Why show the dugout! Get out to second base where the collision happened
They probably aren't allowed to
This exact play - hit & run with a clueless batter happened to me in HS. Got tagged in the face in the middle of my slide and bounced my head off the ground. Concussion protocol and all 🫣
Why were they playing Christmas music
Christmas in July
😂😂😂
That's what I was wondering
Never understood that, July is the last month I want to be thinking abt Christmas lol
Bagpipe Christmas music during a severe injury timeout. Okay....
Los ie his helmet came off during the tag and the back of his head hit the ground..
Sixteen minutes & ten seconds of,....well.... *_NOTHING_* !?! Thank goodness for the creation of Fast Forward!!
Good on them to cancel the game, it was the right call.
How was calling the game the right call
@@skylarlenihan5765 Because there was a severe injury. It’s like what happened with the Bills game that Damar Hamlin got Cardiac Arrest, not saying that’s what happened but I think it was a good job to protect the player’s mental state.
@@thundersportsgoalhorns nah cardiac arrest I understand, but an injury like that, come on that’s soft. How many guys in the bigs have been hit in the face with a fastball or a comeback and the game played out. Don’t understand why this game was called
@@skylarlenihan5765 This is different than that. Sliding and hitting your head and neck area can cause bleeding on the face and a concussion. You don’t understand.
@@thundersportsgoalhorns hold on😂so what does a HBP in the face cause? Or a liner to the head? That was soft to call the game, don’t tell me I don’t understand cuz u literally just described what happened to Stanton and several other guys since then to get HBP in the face
It's horrible. But: Minor League game also ='s minor league camera operators and minor league directors in the booth/truck capturing the action and directing which camera to "air" in addition to calling where the camera operator points the camera - and just like minor league players, they never graduate to the big leagues for the same reason - they don't have what it takes.
Amateur hour production
Douche
What are you going on about? They obviously did not want to show him being tended to given the severity of the injury.
ABSOLUTE ZERO EMPATHY
Terrible camera work.....they should be fired.....
Why? They obviously did not want to show him being tended to given the severity of the injury.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 youre fn 10-ply
The tag was in head and he got the back of his head. Probably knocked out. They called the game for that??
Canceled the game because of this 🙄🤔 You have to be kidding. America has become the land of the whimps. Even in PeeWee hockey we never called a game because someone got hurt. Hell I got a skate to the face in a morning game and was back and playing in the championship game that night. Grow a set for crying out loud. You don't canesel just because one player got a fricking concussion
why did they cancel the game ? this looked like a harmless play ?
Out of respect for the person who was injured, or potentially worse. They were worried about the player, NOT the game.
@@EdsterIII Yes, I was there and it was very scary since he was laying there for about 30 min before they taped his legs and got him on a spine board, not a stretcher -- potentially VERY serious. Everyone was shaken up, players and fans alike!!
What idiotic professional sports team doesn't have medical professionals on stand by let alone a ems vehicle a normal team would have had on way to hospital by now
Ambulance should have been brought on field I hope his family sues this idiot franchise oh wait the parent team is Canadian so it makes sense
If you don't like canada mr Rob from Canada then by all means get the fuck out, we won't miss a piece of trash like yourself
wow so well thought out. Guess you must know all the details.
Two-time world champion idiot franchise to you, Einstein.
@@bruce8321 He doesn't need facts - he's already figured it out in his Mensa-level head.
Did you take stupid pills? Inquiring minds need to know
Why did they call the game. ? It's just one player. Real sports don't call a game on an minor injury.
DUDE! I was there! It was so scary -- he was taken off the field on a spine board, which is no joke. He never really moved after he feel in the dirt. They taped his legs so he couldn't move. It could be a broken neck or back. Even a possibility he was paralyzed in that moment . . .They still haven't released information. Players and fans were all shaken up. No one would have wanted to keep playing after something so severe!! I'm hoping he is going to be ok!! : (
A person who is potentially paralyzed isn't a minor injury. Just say u have never been an athlete before. Oh btw damar hamlin injury resulted in a game being called off.
That looked weak sauce!!
He was.moving
Even the announcer said he's moving
Then they roll him onto his back
Weak calling the game...soft generation
lol. I want my money back.
At a professional level you should be able to complete a game. It’s a soft era in America.
