Since anime can`t really show the real power of "The Goal Of All Life Is Death", here you go: that skills allows Ainz to enhance any skill or spell of instant death to a degree that those ignore any Instant death immunity and since the lore of the game turned real in this world, it even kills things that are not alive to begin with, such as Air and Ground, and thats why the place became like that.
I would like to add that in exchange for making the next instant death spell bypass immunities, it makes it have a 12 second delay, which is what the clock on Ainz back is meant to represent.
I was just gonna say, isn't tGoALiD a spell buffing skill (similar to Maximize Magic) and that it only powers up Cry of the Banshee?
@@jenjenhocho3188 nope, it is a skill that buffs all instant death spells and skills, Ainz in a side story(another timeline ainz) even used it with la shub niggurath to evaporate around 5 million zombies.

In the game, there is a spell limit. But Ainz's build allows him to learn more. In total, he knows over 700 spells.
Also, if I remember correctly, regarding Ainz's strength compared to other top players, he is nowhere near the strongest. They explained in the LN that Ainz's character was not built especially for combat but for roleplay. He's still strong, just not optimized for combat.
His build was not optimized for combat, yet he was a member of a PvP guild and was quite successful at PvP.
All we have to rely on is Ainz who is a dubious narrator when discussing his strength since he tends to under appreciate himself. Ainz may not be near the strongest in terms of pure power, but because of his build and intelligence, he can give even Touch Me, a world champion, trouble
Well he's more of a support, others like Peroronchino, Touch Me, Warrior Tekemikazuchi and Ulbert are the powerhouse.
His method of winning PvP was to get best 2 of 3 wins by losing the first fight and adapting to win the other 2. Kind of bad when he doesn't know if he can come back to life if he dies.
So theres a lot about this episode that is really cool. Im sure your patreon subs have already explained some or all of this but I'd like to go over it just incase.
So the big thing with Ainz is that he is basically running a silly theme build he made for fun rather that a super optimised build. Hes still damn strong and has a great tactical mind for combat but in terms fo actual combat power he wasnt the strongest in the guild.
The way building a character works in the ydrassil game is that they can put levels into classes or races and, with heteromorphic races like the ones the guild members had to be having way more options for race levels than the more human races. The classes it shows on the character sheet from the light novel show Ainz having 15 levels in the ekeleton mage race, 10 levels in the elder lich race, 5 levels in the overlord race, 10 levels in necromancer class and 10 levels in the ruler of death class, then the rest of his levels arent shown but he has a total of 40 levels in races and 60 in classes. The Overlord race levels are important because Ainz pretty much stumbled accross it accidentally, with its unlock requirements being pretty much Ainz' exact build that he had chosen for the fun factor rather than power. The earliest level overlord can be taken at is 96 so it maxes out at level 5 and character level 100.
Level 5 Overlord gave him access to the "the goal of all life is death" skill which, after a 12 second delay, will cause any instadeath skill to completely bypass any and all resistances, he used that in conjunction with a widened cry of the banshee to instakill everything, including shalltear who would normally be immune to instant death.
Whats really cool is that, because its an actual world instead of a game, the skill + spell combination killed EVERYTHING within range, down to the microsctopic level, which is why the whole area around them turned into a desert devoid of any life. Its not visible but even the air itself is dead so if something living were to wander in right now they would just keel over dead themselves.
Its all still cool visually and works devoid of the light novels context but I adore all the extra detail and stuff the light novel gives into how the original game was played and worked.
why does no one notice that shaltear killed the person that attacked her the same moment she was put under control? its not even a spoiler it was clearly shown in the anime.
Assuming people die in anime from just a stab is not advisable. As long as the death is not confirmed, you can never assume they died from the stab.

Tho no matter how high their lvl can get it's really nothing if they don't use same lvl equipment since nazarick NPC all uses best of the kind equipment+ their own lvl
@@SMashborn aren't their seat 1 & 2 suppose to be stronger than the Pleiades (who are between 40-50)? The vagueness of the power levels are confusing.
Someone said Shalltear was made by a min/max type player who set her up the same way. She's going to be a pain to deal with.
Tbf, if you're going to be the best at a game, especially something like an MMO, min/maxing is something that you shpuld do.

It does... normally. But Momongga knows her inside out so he was able to formulate an effective strategy that has reasonable success rate. Plus, Shalltear doesn't have her harem with her this time. 😁
No, it doesnt. The custom npcs like shalltear are made in a similar method as players, if a player were to copy her exact build, they'd actually be stronger since they would have access to super tier magic

@@-Apoptos-The thing is, Shalltear was made specifically to counter players, using guild points (and an extra bit from Peroroncino and co) to be a proper replacement for an existing floor boss in Nazarick, which Ainz Ooal Gown members killed while raiding the Tomb. So it’s not your ordinary Player, or NPC.
If a Player were to copy Shalltear’s build, they would end up in the top of middle tier. If S is highest, and F is lowest, her build sits comfortably at B+. But since she’s an NPC and a Floor Guardian (i.e. a boss), she has more raw stats, which takes a full Party of players to take down. She alone killed approximately 50+ players (albeit not all were lvl100), in the Raid against Nazarick. It is debatable if a player with the similar build, but having access to super tier magic would make a more powerful guild, since Shalltear is not your ordinary NPC. Nigredo is a very good benchmark here: she is, just, literally, a lvl90-95 player without access to super tier magic. She is literally built as a specialist with the abilities and skills that a player can achieve. But Shalltear isn’t your average NPC.
She is the second strongest being and the third strongest force in Nazarick - a base which completely annihilated 1500 players raid.
The only entities that compare to Shalltear are:
1. A literal game breaking cheat code of an NPC, Rubedo and…
2. The whole floor of beings so ruthless, that armed with proper equipment, can take on said Rubedo.
TLDR: Shalltear isn’t an average NPC, she’s a Raidboss, whom should be taken on by, at least, a party of players. She was made with the means beyond ordinary available.
She would mop anyone in Nazarick. And, if equipped with proper items, she would end up in the A tier.
@@albuspercivalwulfricbriand5363 I assume you mean the custom NPC levels provided by the guild base? Yggdrasil has different distinctions of data for players, monsters, and bosses- which have 2 variations, both requiring a team of players to defeat. Players are allowed race and job levels, monsters are given monster levels, and the 2 types of bosses given are ones that are far stronger than players and use their own unique attacks/skills/abilites, and ones that are still stronger than players but constantly summon enemies alongside them.
Custom NPCs (Shalltear) made from a guild base fall under players, and cannot replicate the other types (the Five Rulers- bosses). This is why Ainz compares her with player measurements multiple times. You could maybe say she's a stand-in, but she doesnt come anywhere near their strength, nor surpass a player with her build.
She is not a "boss," she is never stated nor hinted to have more stats because of her being a floor gaurdian (a player given title), and she was never said to have beaten 50 players alone. She doesnt rank 2nd in Nazaricks hierarchy, that place belongs to either Rubedo or "them" on the 8th floor.
Ainz states, "The only people who can beat her are the ones from the Eighth Floor, and they’d have to use World Class Items. *No matter how strong she is, she probably wouldn’t be able to fight one of them to a draw,* but still…"
The quote implies that Rubedo has a world item or is under the effects of one, and despite that, she still couldn't beat one of them
As part of Shalltear's Build towards the Valkyrie class. Peroroncino needed to give her some levels in Cleric. She technically has a god in the form of a vampire raid boss the guild took down.
Needless to say, she has no respect for her god.
As guardian of the first, second, and third floors of the guild Shalltear was basically designed to be a raid boss to stop other guilds from invading Nazarick
Raid bosses at minimum need a party of 6 and shes not any stronger than a player would be
@@-Apoptos- she is stronger than the average player though, Shalltear is strong. She was assigned to guard three floors (instead of one), and she was only defeated by multi-player parties on like three occasions, wich mean she win against party more often than she lose, there are still player who can beat her in 1v1 but they have to be top class player like touch me for exemple, someone like ainz could never beat her if he doesnt have the amount of info and prep he had, in short if she was in a other guild and he wasnt involve in her creation he would lose 100%
@@noakeyharding9437 average, yes, but not capable of defeating multiple players. Thats something touch me could do, but he would still struggle against 2 at once.
Floor guardian is just a player given title, its not a 1:1 indicator of strength otherwise the Aura and Mare wouldnt only have 1 floor, it also fits their theme.
Nazarick has already been shown to be the type of dungeon that separates parties to defeat them and Ainz said he went with Shalltear to defeat lone intruders, its not like she was fighting entire parties on her own. What three occasions are you talking about, the only one mentioned was the 1500 man invasion? Theres no mention of how many actual defenses shes been through that reached her
@@-Apoptos- it depend of what we qualifie "average" in my definition of average, touch me could also defeate groupe by himself (think of a chalenger at LoL or in FPS like counter strike/overwatch against multiple silver, or GM in chess against multiple 1000 elo or a 2700elo agaisnt multiple 1200elo in a RTS ect, for me "average" define where the most people are, since ainz own goal was a guild and not a "dongeon" there is not level requierment to atack it, however if we take the average of people lvl 100 only it become harder i still believe shaltear could win 1v3/4 by herself (using her own skill and summon is helpful in this kind of scenario, but yes she would strugle in 1v2 agaisnt more experienced lvl max pvp player she will probably lose against people from the very top like touch me of couse, (even if in a MMO you can learn patern and retry several time when in the world there are now its not possible since she can learn so her patern evolve and death is most likely permanent for most people, so i do believe she is stronger now than she was is the game)

Shalltear is probably the only fight that Ainz actually goes all out on.
Never read the light novel, but i imagine that this is how the usual pvp in the game Ygdrassil.

hio a little expanation they where in the same area as bevor the "desert" was created bei Ain´s skill.
(in short when the skill got aktivated EVERYTHING died the air (tuned in to poisen) and everything else tuned into sand/dust)

this is why i love overlord,,still have the game mechanic like Turn Based game and I was grew up on that game like FF, FF tactic, Brigandine, Beyond the Beyond, Fire Emblem, mostly in GBA and PS1 game..

Shalltear's broken, Ainz stood there boosting himself with like 30 spells and the fight is still close, if Shalltear is in her right mind and they fight on equal footing i don't see Ainz Winning, the top floor masters are so broken.
