what's been throwing me off most of all is that I account for the bullet drop and velocity way too much. I aim too high above the head or too far in front of moving players. I think battlefield has messed me up in that regard. Great tips tho stodeh! THE GOAT, time to practice!!
Junaid S Same here, I actually switched to the AX-50 because it’s bullet physics resemble Battlefield a little more and I’m hitting way more shots with it even though on paper it’s more difficult.
Same, my brain cannot adjust to the sniping physics so I suck at sniping in this game. Whereas in battlefield I can pick off moving targets for days!

nice tips man! One thing I think is important to mention when sniping is that once you acquire a target to try your best to get that person in the center of your screen before scoping in, so that when you scope in, you reduce the amount of crosshair movement needed to get on target, thus minimizing your glint time and making your shot easier. This is gonna help you stay hidden and it helps train your "quick scope" reflexes, which can save your life.

@Drew Brees you can also use your eyes to spot them using the normal scope
since a lot of players use cold blooded I don't really think thermal is worth it anymore, cb on thermal looks like shit tbh
@Drew Brees of course you can, but all I'm saying is that a contrast that low pretty much renders it obsolete in comparison to actually being able to perceive colours
Cross hair placement is one of the most important parts of being good in fps games. If I could be really good at just one aspect of any fps it would be cross hair placement

[Major Sniping Tip for New Players] : When ADS you'll notice the little horizontal lines along the vertical axis of the scope.(not every scope has this) Each one of those lines is 100m+. So, if your target is 300m away (check using your ping) your red dot is no longer the center it is now that 3rd tick on your scope.

i would normally agree with you but this isnt true in this game. i can hit a head at 250m by placing the center red dot right on it. it depends in attachments and which gun youre using.
@@CorperalWafflez it depends on the range and accuracy of your weapon. Which is why the HDR is a killer because there is little to no fall of, which is why you use your red dot more often but that doesn't apply for the random purple or legendary you pick up off the ground. I've killed at 4-500m trust that once you fire that first shot you have enough time to cock another shot before the bullet hits your target (2-3s). Where it gets tricky is the thermal scopes which slants the y axis off to the side and you have that dumb little triangle instead of a dot. You basically have to draw a line in your head to line up a shot.
Yer you generally only have to aim up a bit once over 250/300m. I hit a 594m head shot last night and it was about 2 lines up

Edit- Equipment on loadout is now outdated, I take stun grenade or Heart beat sensor with a C4 24/7. Also, I use EOD perk instead of Cold Blooded.
ultra aim assisted for headshots even more than on other CoD games. Most targets heads are not even in the reticule aiming cross.

another thing is to not go completely up to windows while aiming as it increases the snipe glare and it also gives people a better view of your body sniper school 101 shoot from inside buildings never from directly at the window.
Have they removed the laser slot on the HDR? I don't even see that as an option. @stodeh

I'm using the Merc Themal Optic personally and honestly it almost feels like cheating. Barely any hit on ADS time, no glint and 3.25x is enough for most situations. Hell, it even leaves you more peripheral vision so you're more aware of your surroundings.
I'd like to use the slot for another attachment but I've killed so many rival snipers because of their glint that I can't bring myself to use anything else.
Dosnt 3.25 glint? It goes under high zome sens. All under 3.25 goes as low

I'm already a decent sniper, but a battlefield one. The 9000m/s bullet velocity in cod is messing me up sometimes
Bulletspeed is strange in this game. 100 m with HDR: almost a hitscan

@@aleksanderberlik3101 .50 BMG is shot at - I think- 870m/s muzzle velocity. They had to tune down the realism or ppl would be sniping at the Prison from the Dam. It's interesting that they kind of skipped the bullet drop part. Instead above ~500m the weapons start to spray so inconsistently that I legit can't hit the same spot twice.

I would've included the option to change your mini-map to a square instead of a circle. I know its a sniping guide, but I think it would help to have a bigger mini-map on any loadout. Also thank you, you helped me settle an argument I had with my friend over "is the AX-50 or HDR better?"...I was right lmao.

How do u lead the shots idk how I aim to little or to far in front I saw it said maximum lead is 1 body width idk if that means depending on how far they are or let’s say someone is point blank in front of u you aim that far in front on a far target any idea what he means by body width
Call of duty gunplay is more arcade than battlefield. Bullet velocity in COD is extremely high. Also a near miss in COD counts as a hit. In battlefield a near miss is a miss lol.

You just havnt found the right gun. I had to try different guns and scopes. Ax50 works for me. 2 shot kills on the body. My favorite is watching the team panic as I leave 2 downed and leave one reviving one after another lol
I'm fairly new to call of duty and kept sniping like in battlefield. There's a noticeable difference. So far I'm having a blast with the ax 50. Your right about the engagement being within 200 range.

If you don’t know what to pick between the AX-50 and the HDR, choose the Kar98k, trust me. When you unlock the sniper scopes, that thing feels so much better than the bigger bulkier snipers in my opinion. Downside is that you have to grind for a while to get the sniper scope and variable zoom scope, and the default reticle is pretty shit, but it is so worth it.

Awesome video, thanks! I've always played BattleField with holo scope SV98, using it to run around giving headshots, but I can't get the same play style in COD with the KR98. The bullet drop is just too bad, so I've also picked up an HDR, and wow, too easy in my opinion. Still learning a lot from this game and having loads of fun.

I actually already followed most of your tips on my own. I will point out though that I use AX-50 because on my sniper rifle I keep the standard optic in order to have one more accessory to choose, and the AX-50 is better than the HDR because his standard optic gives you peripherical view, you don't have black all around the zoomed area. This saved me a lot of times because I was able to spot enemies that were on my left or right, and I could switch so the LMG.
Plus, I am a Battlefield 3-4 player and the bullet drop is way higher there, I can't get used to the HDR.
Baby Yoda the reason why the HDR has blackout effect is bc its a proper true sniper rifle in its design, AX is more of marksman rifle with higher damage.

I'm in agreement with you. I like the stock scope on the AX-50 with the large FOV. I just like the feel of this rifle and I've been doing really well with it. I've recently been using the dual zoom to get some longer hits. Which attachments do you have on yours?
HDR does not have a faster ADS speed than the AX-50. Everything else is accurate.
It does with the longer barrel for the bullet velocity required for Warzone

@@Stodeh sorry my man you're wrong. The ax50 can be tuned faster. They both have a base ads speed of 633ms however the fastest you can get the ax50 is 400ms compared to the 433ms of the HDR. The long barrels for both the snipers increase the ads speed by 4 frames so there's no difference there.

When you have a "CLAYMORE" or a "PROXIMITY MINE", "watching your back", please be aware that an enemy armed with the "EOD" and "SPOTTER" perk can disarm your devices leaving you vulnerable to attack. I like to place my devices where I can keep an eye on them. A telltale sign that your device is being hacked is that they will start to spark and smoke and finally it will give off a very soft audible sound once it has been hacked. One thing I would like to add about sniping is the fact that you should avoid silhouetting yourself so that you stick out like "a sore thumb" in a doorway or window. Try to pick a proper backdrop. Oh yes, by the way, excellent video.

The HDR does not have faster ads speed. Even fully optimized for ads speed the AX-50 is faster. I still think the HDR is better in warzone but just thought I'd mention that
I think it's personal preference, other UA-camrs have said ax50 is better, at the end of the day just go for the head.
@@Jackcrypto101 it does come down to preference but the HDR has such minimal bullet drop so it's 1 less thing to compensate for. Just put the cross hair on their head. Personally I just use the Kar cause if you're far enough away that I feel the need to use the others then I'm just gonna leave you alone anyways cause you're probably gonna get revived 70% of the time once I down you anyways lol
