David Johnson's career wasn't destroyed by cancer, it was stolen. This is a story of heartbreaking potential cut short.
Athletes put their bodies on the line for their sport, but there are some battles they simply can't win. David Johnson's story isn't about defeat, it's about cruel misfortune and how life can sometimes be incredibly unfair. Let’s get into it.
David Edward Johnson, born on October 23, 1951, in Liverpool, England, had a remarkable career in English football. He became famous playing for clubs like Ipswich Town, Liverpool, and Everton. His career is a classic story of a local boy making it big, and becoming a well-known forward in the 1970s and 1980s.
David Johnson grew up in Liverpool, a city known for its deep love of football. From a young age, his natural talent for the game was clear. He started playing football at school, which is how many young players in Liverpool began. His skills soon got him noticed, and he joined Everton FC as an apprentice in 1967. And by 1969, he had turned professional. - Спорт
Great player RIP David 🙏 😢and all the other great Liverpool players that have gone RIP legends 🙏 🎉
I've got a Liverpool FC programme signed by David, he was a lovely, genuine man and is sadly missed. RIP David.
From an old New Zealand 🚜, David Johnson ❤ RIP, has always been and will always be, one of my favorite ❤ 💙 players ever.
Why does it keep showing Souness?
He was a dead ringer
RIP jhonno, great striker
Watched him play those early years at Ipswich Town. Fantastic player. Bobby Robson built a great team there.
The season after Everton won the league 1969-70 I remember his early time at Goodison.
The following season Everton struggled to score goals the the European Cup, after an easy win over Icelandic armatures in the preliminary round.
I saw him come off the bench late on the quarter final first leg against Pathaniakos, when Everton had fell behind after poor finishing, when David, only minutes after coming on volleyed a good goal to equalise in the last minute.
Everton went out on the away goal rule
David left Everton, inexplicitly in late 1972 for Ipswich,, with Rod Belfit in part exchange.
His career blossomed and ended up at Liverpool when they dominated in the mid- late 1970s. In my opinion he was a better centre forward than Joe Royle who was first choice at Everton from 1969 until Bob Latchford arrived in early 1974
I really liked him when he played for my club ipswich
Played for Manchester City Briefly in the 80's! dx
I suggest Justin Edinburgh vid
He also had a shop in ipswich called jontys nice gentleman’s outfitters
Watched a few of these recently and they have one thing in common other than being cheap and tacky . . . They are always factually incorrect and weak on information.
Did this video compiler think Souness was Johnson, and if not why did Souness keep appearing?
It really is junior schoolboy quality . . . No more please.
He did speak bollocks about MU going past Liverpool in leagues ....atleast he saw that milestone.....moral of the story is...?
AI-generated bollocks. Almost unwatchable.
Or maybe because they were heavy smokers???????????
