I’m going to guess either a workspace or a kitchen. You could space it far enough from the other one to create a space to park the Scamp between them and put a roof over it.
I thought the same; a covered breezeway between the container and a cozy studio. Then utilize the breezeway to protect the camp kitchen and put solar panels on the roof of it.
My favorite videos you guys do are your vlogs on how you stay warm in the winter with those dreamy snowy white hilltops and crunchy snow beneath your feet. They are so peaceful and relaxing to me. I also oddly like watching how you guys organize and put things in the scamp and what you guys use because I could learn a thing or two about being more of a minimalist!
Glad you guys liked the antelope because it can be hit or miss depending on where the animal grazes. If they graze around alot of sage brush it tastes a little different...
You could build a car port type structure over the scamp running the stove pipe up thru it. Would be sturdier than your canopy and offer some protection from the harsh weather while cooking.
I was thinking that when watching the last vlog. Could they not build another lean-to off the container and put scamp under or in front of it to help have extra cover in the winter. Or maybe use the one they already built. X
An indoor kitchen would be great use for the storage container, at least for the winter. Hope you have a good winter. One of my favorite things in your videos is watching you cook.
I am retired and live in Norrth Carolina and love watching all the episodes. My husband would love to do this if he did not have bad health. Look forward to the next one . Thanks so much.
I gotta say, my girlfriend and I have been following you since covid started. You are always inspiring and reminding us how simple life can be. We spend every moment together like you two and we are understanding the importance of time alone, but not too long like you said. Aloha!
We are cold also.We are in the mountains in Fawnskin Ca top of the mountains. My son And I live in a 3 bedroom 2 bath home.I lost my police officer husband of 38 years. We miss him.
Always look forward to your videos.. so beautifully done.. artistic and inspiring... you traded in modern day conveniences for the best life possible.. enjoy each other and nature while doing what a lot of us are afraid to but wished we could.. bravo!!
The snow on the scamp roof adds insulation...I think they need a bigger camper to reinsulate/restore, then park it under the carport....or build a tiny house out of a shipping container or 2 so the rats can't get it!!
I've figured out why I love you're channel so much. You live for real. You see other people's ridiculous pics and content that try to make life "perfect". Perfect = Fake Real life is NEVER PERFECT. Real life is messy. Real life is dirty. Real life is beautiful. I'm so grateful that you never stage your experiences. I understand better angles and shots. Please just never take out the real life. May whatever higher power moves you, take care of you and bless you. You are doing such an important service. Letting other people know what real joy and beauty is supposed to look like. namaste.
There is little chunk baits for the pack rats and mice that you can get at tractor supply in big buckets and you can put them in places that scamp can't get to that will take care of your problems for good
So amazing how these guys have been able to survive and thrive in this world and managing to do it THEIR way. Love this channel it will be a sad day when they move out of the Scamp lol
Elsa, I just have to say that your artistic video abilities, of composition, editing, sound selection and integration, just keep getting better and better over the years I've been watching. This is so much better than your early work, and worlds better than anyone else's I see. If there were such a thing as an Oscar, or Emmy, or something for youtubers, I'd vote for you.
I couldn't agree more! I believe there are awards but I have no idea how to nominate. I think Casey Niestadt (sp) mentioned it or was involved in an award show. Let the campaign begin!
I felt warm watching interior video scenes and cold with exterior scenes. Food looked good too. Living in the tiny trailer for 6 years of winters is amazing. Happy 🥶
I use to live in Colorado Winters are beautiful but brutal and you guys do it Ina scamp respect I moved to Florida 😎🏝️ but still miss the beauty of Colorado.😎🏝️
We lived up in the mountains in Utah, and when we had a pack rat problem we caught it, in a “have a heart trap”, and took it for a long drive and released it. We never killed them. It’s a lesson you learn when you have enough maturity to respect all life.
After spending 36 years in snow country and moving to where its warm year round, occasionally i think to myself "i miss seeing the snow...", then i watch a video like this and all my hatred of snow/ice/sleet come rushing back and i give thanks for living in the desert southwest.
Winter is also the wife and my favorite time of year after this video I am looking forward to winter again. Not quite there here yet but getting closer. I’ll have to rewatch your old winter videos to hold me off till winter comes.
Enjoyed the video as always! I find your winter videos cozy and comforting. I am pretty sure I will be rewatching it again. Also The food looks delicious 🤤.
Winter videos in the Scamp are probably my most favorite 🤩. I probably rewatched those the most & look forward to your new adventures on your own land. It just got cold here too, which means more cuddles with the doggie & crochet sweaters!
Can I just say its pretty rare to see van life/trailer life people who still eat meat, but I love how much local stuff you guys enjoy, as well as stuff you have hunted and caught yourself. The antelope curry looked AMAZING
Never miss a chance for backhanded virtue signaling. At least by not eating meat you reduce the risk of choking on your own narcissistic self-righteousness.
Love the story teller style video today, and having the stove back in season. Feels super cozy on a day like today in Ontario where I wish I had one in my home office.
Great video the Scamp looked so cute today . you had it all clean and shiny. I think you're going to make room for a big freezer so when Barron gets his elk. Because he will be killing something to eat. Y'all look great and so did Kamp. Stay warm. See you in the next video
I love the cold weather videos best! I grew up living the way that y'all live now and miss it terribly. Some of us are just built for it! Excited for all of your new projects, and my favorite part of today's episode was Kamp being cold and snuggling in. How sweet is he?!
Rodent tip: My dad lives on 30ish acres in CO and he parks his automobiles on sheets of metal lathe that he got from home depot. Rodents have a hard time getting across it to nest in your cars. Worth looking into at least!
I literally click on your videos as soon as I see them. You guys are amazing. Elsa, I've also had gut issues my whole life. Wouldn't mind hearing more about what you've done to heal
Maybe you could put up a tent style garage like Trent and Allie did to get you through this first winter. We all want you to be warm and safe. You would also have room for firewood and cooking since the scamp is so small.
That Poor Man’s Stew looked SO YUMMY! I’m with Barron, that looks like something I could eat everyday. We just finished dinner, but I know what we will be having tomorrow night.
Love the mini stove coming out!!! The new box looks like it should be a art studio!!!a murals on the outside and beads and leather on the inside!!! And maybe some speakers fora music room!!
This life you two live....hard, yes....but look at your rewards. Your property is stunning. I really enjoy living vicariously thru the both of you. Oh, if only I was younger. This is exactly how I'd live. Great video and your editing skills are excellent. Stay warm.
I don't know what's brighter and more beautiful, that giant moon, Elsa's beautiful face and fizzy smile, Barons crystal blue eyes or Kamps sense of humor lol! Such an absolutely artfully done video, beautiful, Miss Elsa!
I just love winter best also. And,l sure do enjoy all your videos. Thank you both for sharing your lives with me, a older bird who lives vicariously through you! 🥰🪶🕊️
So much to look forward to, your first winter on your own land! 💕 Sounds like you have your work cut out for you with those packrats 😳 Thinking you guys will have lots of extra space in the Scamp this year with your outbuildings for storage.
Such a wholesome, sweet channel. Simply 2 good people doing their own thing in their own time with Kamp supervising. We always look forward to your videos...! Thank you.
LOVE LOVE LOVE those slippers Elsa. lol Kamp absolutely knows he is loved and is part of the family, the little guy makes my heart melt. I Love winter and fall the best also, always have. I'd much rather try to stay warm from the cold , then cool from the heat any day. - MY GUESS IS : A small out door kitchen enclosure to cut back wind and snow while cooking -
I've watched you since your video on how to draw mandalas, I commented last week and just mentioned that out there where you all are it just gets really nasty, peace and big big love to the community ❤
Thank you for watching! We experienced winter here last year, but not on our land! It gets brutally cold. The insulation improvements we made last fall made a huge difference!
I had field mice get into my bass boat and chew up the wiring. I put moth balls in small cloth pouches and put them all over and that ran them off and has kept them away. Not sure about a Pack Rat but it's worth a shot. Put that storage container next to the other one and put a Pop-up tent on top! I've always heard Antelope is nasty. I was surprised! Good vlog.
Elisa, I would love you to do a video on how you handle your gastric and colon issues. A lot of us struggle with this issue. I would love to see the food choices you have made to control your symptoms. Thank you for being open about this.
Hmmm, maybe just a covered storage shed for things like pantry items and food, though I'd probably make it a bathroom because it would be more comfortable in the cold.
Great video. The first part had me swaying to the great music. Very soothing. Take care and be safe.
My favorite kind of video from you elsa. Lovely. Thanks for sharing your unusual life path with us.
I think you're going to build Barron a man-cave so Elsa can have the Scamp to herself! 😂
Stay warm you guys!!!
barron pausing his airpod and saying "what" is very relatable
Thank you for this really good, enjoyable winter starting video. Love from Hungary
I’m going to guess either a workspace or a kitchen. You could space it far enough from the other one to create a space to park the Scamp between them and put a roof over it.
This is a great idea!
That’s it
I thought the same; a covered breezeway between the container and a cozy studio. Then utilize the breezeway to protect the camp kitchen and put solar panels on the roof of it.
Love these type of your videos soooo much
Hi, Kamp in the snow is wonderfully bonkers 🤪.

I also oddly like watching how you guys organize and put things in the scamp and what you guys use because I could learn a thing or two about being more of a minimalist!
OMG....Kamp has become a "Fashionesta" by modeling his new knit cap....sooo cute!
Love the unbridled joy of Camp frolicking in the snow🐕
Winter scamp videos are my absolute fave! 👏🏻🥶❤
Mine too! I am in Florida though and we have 2 days of winter, if we’re lucky.😉
I’m always sad when I finish up the newest video. I never want them to end 😩
Hiii I love your videos and I hope you stay warm through the Colorado winter.
Thank you!
Kamp snuggled between the two of you just melted my heart.
Glad you guys liked the antelope because it can be hit or miss depending on where the animal grazes. If they graze around alot of sage brush it tastes a little different...
Fascinating! Wow, that would be a weird taste.
@@ElsaRhae it also has MUCH to do with the person who butches and dresses the meat.
This video is why I love the Scamp-Life so much !!!!!! ☺
I BELIEVE it's to "extend" ur living space. Many of us did this when we lived off grid as well :) attached to our RVs or campers with a wood stove :)
@@nevets3164 excellent! :)
I love winter in the scamp
You could build a car port type structure over the scamp running the stove pipe up thru it. Would be sturdier than your canopy and offer some protection from the harsh weather while cooking.
I was thinking that when watching the last vlog. Could they not build another lean-to off the container and put scamp under or in front of it to help have extra cover in the winter. Or maybe use the one they already built. X
Would def be a weathered barrier and even offer shade during the hotter months.
Very smart idea!!! That could really be a deal changer for them
They don’t have solar mounted to the top of the scamp. They have extra long cords in their current set up.
As a matter of fact, they could mount solar on the roof of the car port.
I like your outlook on life. That stew did look gorgeous. Hello from Devon, UK.
An indoor kitchen would be great use for the storage container, at least for the winter. Hope you have a good winter. One of my favorite things in your videos is watching you cook.
Yes, same here. Love to watch the cooking.
Yes she truly needs a kitchen where she can have more space to cook wonderfull dishes.
Ooooh is it going to be a kitchen?
Except the food would be cold by the time she got back.
Love the monolith w/the moon shot, absolutely beautiful, perfect for the pack rat’s sunset burial
Best time of the year! And your first winter on your property! I’m so excited for you.
Thank you so much, Gaby!!
You guys really make the space in the Scamp useable. Great video. I like the winter also✌🏻
I am retired and live in Norrth Carolina and love watching all the episodes. My husband would love to do this if he did not have bad health. Look forward to the next one . Thanks so much.
Praying for hubby. I know how it is as a terminal patient
All good. Hugs
I remember these cold cozy beautiful moments. This is what all of us who are introverts live for every day!

I love your winter life guys ❤️
You can see how tender that was and looked like a really substantial meal, we can all appreciate time on our own if we are comfortable in our own skin
Always look forward to your videos.. so beautifully done.. artistic and inspiring... you traded in modern day conveniences for the best life possible.. enjoy each other and nature while doing what a lot of us are afraid to but wished we could.. bravo!!
Kamp loves winter camping too, clearly 😍
He does love the snow, but has begun honking when he wants to be covered by a blanket.
This will be our third winter in Colorado! Absolutely love it. Hope you guys stay warm and cozy.
O my gosh ...I love u guys sooo much ..Elsa ❤️ u r my inspiration...and I think 🤔 u bought it for some storage purposes... don't u??
I think one of the best things about winter is that it's easier on Kamp. Such fun to watch him happily romping!
why not just get some type of metal garage port for the Scamp...keep the snow off and cook under...
The snow on the scamp roof adds insulation...I think they need a bigger camper to reinsulate/restore, then park it under the carport....or build a tiny house out of a shipping container or 2 so the rats can't get it!!

There is little chunk baits for the pack rats and mice that you can get at tractor supply in big buckets and you can put them in places that scamp can't get to that will take care of your problems for good
Unfortunately, birds of prey will eat the poisoned rodents and get sick or die.
So amazing how these guys have been able to survive and thrive in this world and managing to do it THEIR way. Love this channel it will be a sad day when they move out of the Scamp lol
Lovely views!. The nice thing is you can just drive away when you get tired of the snow.
I've had such a tiring day and came home and saw this, I could honestly cry. These videos are so calming to me!!

Aww you smiling when Kamp went up to your head ☺ so sweet 🥰
Maybe Elsa's getting her own dirt bike and new leathers and Kamp is getting a side car and helmet, all possibly dragon themed.
Camp in a Snoopy helmet and goggles in a side car! :0D
I would like to see the stars at night. It should be beautiful. I very much love your journey in the wide open spaces. Be safe and have fun. 🦋
Getting cold here too in SW Arizona
