- Detroit, Michigan is CRAZY! This is one of the most dilapidated, abandoned, and dangerous cities in America. Poverty is at an all time high, as is crime. With the collapse of the industrial and automobile era, this city has suffered immensely. Although in some places there are signs of recovery, a lot of it is looking really bad. Homes with amazing architecture now lay in ruins, businesses folded up, and the outlook doesn't look great. This documentary illustrates why Detroit is one of the most miserable cities in The United States. Let's check some of it out!
9:27 I wonder if i'm the only one who watches these videos & pauses it to get the street names & then goes to Google Earth & looks at these areas
It baffles me to this day as to how such beautiful homes and neighborhoods can come to such destruction. It's much more than poverty, it's the lack of respect and care.
It is poverty and lack of resoures. It takes money to keep a community viable.
Wow! The architecture on some of those places! You make me a nervous wreck driving some of these neighborhoods. Please don't go alone! That's my motherly advice for today! 🤭 Thank you! 👍
RIP the Rust Belt
They look just like the Abandoned MANSIONS, that the RICH people..... Lost.
Thank you for the work you do. May The Most High God continue to protect you and bless your life in every area.
Thank you for watching!
Awful lot of demolition work needed. Some of the huge commercial buildings are amazing. To think they served a purpose at one time and now lay abandoned. Unbelievable!
Each of those houses has a story to tell. I would love to see inside that grand church; it as well has many stories to tell. Nature always takes back her own as shown by the smaller abandoned houses slipping away among the greenery.
You can almost see the ghost of the families that lived there.
It's unimaginable. I have a friend still lives on the East Side. He shares old photos and history of Detroit. It was a magnificent city. Thank you for this view. Crying shame. 😢
I'm from there, moved yrs ago, a lot of people up there been living in those neighborhoods so long they think it's normal to live like that
The whole city is a hood zone.
I want to know about the liquor bottle lawn @2:56!
в чем причина? такие дворцы разваливаются без доброго заботливого хозяина, а кто-то живет на улице в палатках?((( очень печальное зрелище...мне жаль!
Sad. There were many happy lovely families living there at one time. Closing down the auto manufacturing destroyed this city and people were forced to leave to find work.
So sad! All those once beautiful homes and neighborhoods largly vacated. Detroit has major problems. When it filed for bankruptcy in 2013, it seems to have escalated it's decay. Lack of capital, high property taxes, lack of economic development, regulations, lack of services, -the list goes on for the reasons of it's demise.
2:54 - Someone was thirsty.
Thanks for another great video. Be safe out there.
Thanks for watching!
0:34 The renovated building definitely looks out of place compared to all the other eye sores. Best of luck to who ever invested all the time and effort.
Oh, my. I guess that's how ghost towns begin
Love your ride alongs! 💯
Thank you so much for watching!
Battle Creek looked similar in the 80's/90's, same issue: manufacturers left 😢
They city has removed a lot of blight but still a long way to go.
I’m gobsmacked. The continued impact of the demise of the auto industry in Detroit never ceases to amaze me. At special loss is the end of spectacular architecture. “They don’t build ‘em like they used to” could not be more true for these once beautiful homes and neighborhoods. Thanks for doing what you do!
Thanks so much for watching Bridget!
An excellent video. Disturbing and depressing, but well done.
Thanks so much Tom!
wow ty
I’m curious as to who’s mowing those lawns- I assume the properties are bank owned?
its so good to calm your soul whenever u feel stress .its such a beautiful heaven on earth i believe .wonder why its getting ghost town !?
Una pregunta, ¿qué lleva a familias enteras, a abandonar su lugar de residencia, que los impulsa o los obligar a dejar sus casas?
OMG! 😮
Why couldn’t the owners sell and get some equity from their sale of the home, or at least you hope. My guess the last owners abandoned them because they owed the banks more than the homes were worth.
What area is this?
Many houses after a fire. Why ?
Where is this?
The city lost over a million people. When that many jobs and people are no longer there this is the result.
Who owns this old Houses ? Bank ? City ? Who ?
All of the above basically. It just depends on which house.
who own most of the land in the video ?
A shame they cant be given to the homeless.
А ведь нормальные так-то дома были
Does people still live in this neighborhood?
Some do yes
lost in America
