    I was at this concert, for me this track was the highlight of the concert. Mike Shrieve wasn't there but Greg Rolie and Neal Schon came on for Just in time to see the Sun and this track. From memory most of the guitar solo on this was played by Neal Schon but Santana may have played some parts of it, in other words, a bit of a jam.
    Caravanserai was the peak of Santana for me, never matched again by subsequent line ups.

      The interchange between Neal and Carlos:
      0:26-1:40 Neal (Carlos' entry overlaps);
      1:41-2:54 Carlos (Neal's re-entry overlaps);
      2:55-4:17 Neal, sadly buried in production, with Carlos playing melody figures behind him;
      4:18-5:19 Intertwining phrases by both guitarists.
      Neal's piercing sound is distinctive, along with Carlos' richer tone, and use of the Mahavishnu repetition lick. Great chemistry between the two as always.

      I'm 64 years old and I was born in San Francisco and I saw Carlos Santana in Hayward California in 1966? Three years before Woodstock! I think I was 9 years old and he was 18! Carlos was 21 at Woodstock! Partaking of LSD! SRI Carlos Santana! Kind of like? Taking mescaline? Or reading Siddhartha! Or surfing huge tubes on the North shore with the pipe Master Lopez! I was surfing and nineteen seventy-five 55 foot sets! I saw a big rock 35 foot! Every wave was spitting! Like Fiji! But much gnarlier!at big Rock if you don't get around that slab your dad

      The guitar playing all through the first half is clearly Carlos, Neal's playing is easily distinguisable from Carlo's. Neal first comes in at the 1:45 mark and they trade off licks throughout. Also even though Mike Shrieve wasn't there, the equally amazing Graham Lear was just beginning his nearly 12 year stint with the band and does an amazing job.

    Great version. You can actually distinguish the two guitars here. It was hard to do that on the album

    The drummer Michael Shrieve must have left the band by this time ('76). The subtlety of the rhythm section is gone - nothing but a simple rock beat. It's sad what happened to the Santana band after the core left by this time. I appreciate the upload though, JC. And Edinburgh's a cool place! Many thanks.

    Yes. I can hear the difference now in the drumming. It’s a great job though. Neal Schon. Gregg. The line up from the LP. This is easy to distinguish guitars. On the studio both play through a Leslie. And it’s so hard to tell. I’m pretty sure .schon did a long solo on it. Anyway the 3rd LP is easy. Neal screamed with a Wah Wah on all his solos
