My worries is about getting iPhone hot while changing and making my battery healthy get down fast. So I use the cable with an original 10w iPad Air 2 charger on my iPhone. Is ther any difference in these points compared with fast charger and wireless charger?
I think it depends on your usage. If you find yourself running out of charge regularly then go battery pack. If you’re good on a daily basis or wind up at a desk during the day when you can just pop it on the MagSafe charger to grab some juice, then that one works. Disclaimer is that I have not had a hands on with the battery packs. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!
I am sorry this might sound like a dumb question... I am looking for a case for my iPhone. I wonder if I should get a case with magsafe or just a normal case without it? How necessary is the magsafe function? Do you recommend that I buy it? Thank you!
The length of the cable really doesn’t matter that much considering you shouldn’t be using the phone while charging. I’ve noticed nobody ever mentions the temperature the MagSafe charging puck gets. It can reach up to 103°, which is below Apple temperature threshold of 113°. But I don’t think prolonged charging at that temperature is good for your battery. Anyone have battery health issues after using the MagSafe?
@@ItsTimoCruz I can assure you MagSafe does not keep the battery “healthy”. MagSafe increases charging temperature by a lot compared to wireless charging. The best way to charge your phone and keep your battery optimal is by using the cord that came with the iPhone. I use the stock cord along with a 20W adapter for fast charging and the phone stays cool.
@@MarcusDET you shouldn’t use you iphwjioe charging isn’t fake new, that is a fact when it comes to battery life. It also depends on what your doing. When you play games or something that uses a lot of RAM and power, it will heat up your phone a lot more.
You can certainly use a lower wattage power adapter with the MagSafe charger, but keep in mind that it's USB-C so it won't work with the old standard 5W charger that previously came in the box with iPhones.
What’s the battery health like after 1 year of charging with the Magesafe charger? Surely not a good idea for Apple to get rid of the lightning port if it’s only going to damage battery health in the long run?
Good question. Just checked mine. After 13 or 14 months of mixed use (some MagSafe, some lightning) I’m at 93% maximum capacity. Apple’s claims on their website are that the battery should retain at least 80% capacity after 500 charges. With that in mind, assuming I charge roughly once per day, I’m not aging the battery any faster than Apple anticipates. I’ve likewise seen anecdotes of people accusing MagSafe and wireless charging of degrading batteries faster but I’ve yet to see any hard data/study proving that it’s the cause rather than coincidence. I wish I had the resources to execute such a study. Maybe someday!
Made it this far...thanks for the insights...just getting a 13pro Max and reading as much as I can about MagSafe. I decided to go w/ a 45w Anker Nano II and may look again at the Belkin. Agreed that you have to read the fine print to see just what wattage is being dedicated to charge the device. Good video!
I really wish you could just lose the cord all together. Charge the magnet (with the cord) detach it from the cord, stick it on the back of your iPhone and GO!! While i do see one or two good things about the way it is now, Personally there’s no use for this until it’s completely “wireless”. For now I’ll just stick with my usb-c lightning cables.
Main reason I haven't bought even the new mag safe 25w charger is because charging your phone wireless is bad for your battery and it's health. Until that changes, I don't see myself ever buying one I do wish they had a colour matching ring, to the phone you are buying. To blend it in
That’s an exact question that I had when testing. I’ve got a video coming soon that will answer it (sorry for the cliffhanger). The result was not what I expected.
See You There ! … this week I got a 20 Eur “off the shelf” with a 20W brick and it reminded me that … a couple years ago I got to the same conclusion as now: It’s a drag to get the puck aligned with my Xʀ And when it does align and then in a couple of minutes it simply stops charging at all ? Bummer … Maybe it because of the brand (CHOETECH) never heard of it before but it has been a while since I’ve been looking for USB-C power bricks …
Really solid video. MagSafe is more of a money making thing that’s maybe slightly more convenient. I can see MagSafe charging dashboard mounts being useful or 2/3 in 1 MagSafe charging pads being convenient since it can charge multiple devices using a single wire and electrical outlet. The MagSafe certified 2/3 in 1 pads tend to be pretty expensive though.
I get calls of complaints from family members all the time with issues from iPhone and Apple store. I'm just glad I don't have to deal with this. I'll stick with my galaxy
Thank you for the review, very informative if I use a USB-C male to female cable extension with the Apple mag safe charger and the Apple wall charger, will it deliver the 15w charging speed? Thanks again for the amazing content
Great question. As long as you have a decent cable I wouldn’t expect you to see a difference using an extender. Wish I could say definitively but I’m definitely not an electrical engineer, haha. If you try it, definitely let me know how it goes! Thanks for watching!
The longer the cable, the smaller power you're getting. It's pure electrical engineering. Think the same, but instead of electricity, you have water. The longer the pipe, the smaller the pressure.
Just use any old regular extension cord to bring the charging brick and cable closer to your iPhone., I have stopped using extenders due to issues in the past and now just use a regular AC extension cord easily purchased for a $1

Even if the phone can’t stick (I have 12 pro max.) on its own, I’m sure MagSafe puck attached to the phone could hold the phone* if that’s all it takes.
Thank you so much for clarification about apple magsafe. I think just buy the cheap belkin magnetic 🧲 wireless charger. It could work with MagSafe as it labeling , but just provide 7.5w for iphone. It is ok due to less warm compared to apple 15w MagSafe wireless charger

See you there! Great video man, I'm going to change from an iPhone 6 to an iPhone 13 it'll be so much different! Also, it could be nice if you did a video explaining the differences between the different AirPods Generations. Just subbed to your channel, keep it up!:)
Wow, 6 to 13 is indeed a big jump. Kudos to you for making the 6 last so long, though. I've got an AirPods video in the works just for you! Should be posted in the next 2 weeks. Sorry, slow turnaround time for my one man operation. =P

Type-C port on the iPhone 16. I wonder when they will really get rid of the port. Did you do an update video with MagSafe?
Thank you for an informative video! I decided to watch it because I’m upgrading my 11 to the 15 (that has usb-c) and wanted to explore MagSafe!
Is it okay to charge the phone on the magsafe even if it’s near full battery. Or does it effect its life cycle
Got an answer yet?

Why don’t they just make the charger with a longer cord? Sounds pretty simple.
excellent video and superb guidance
Can the MagSafe charger charge the iPhone plugged in with the 5W charger for slow charging
You can certainly use a lower wattage power adapter with the MagSafe charger, but keep in mind that it's USB-C so it won't work with the old standard 5W charger that previously came in the box with iPhones.

Is the "made for magsafe" another artificial limitation? Or is there some real technical benefit with official chargers?
