What is the best way for joining the four melon shapes in the second row of the curved 9 patch without a lumpy join?

+eileenfb1948 I would practice 2 or 3 before I would jump into a new technique, but that's how it is with any new skill.

lovely quilt, but im confused...how do you get the long corners on the 9 patch....

The full pattern will lead you through the construction of a varied nine patch block, the cutting with templates(either purchased for made using the paper templates provided in the pattern and the overall construction of the quilt top.
