I am from America and agree with you, I have been following her since she won Norway's Got Talent and knew one day the rest of the world would discover her amazing talent. At 74 I hope I am around long enough to watch her share her many talents with the world, as been her wish for a long time♥
It's all about exposure for Angelina in America. She has moved to LA for this very reason. Win or lose millions and millions of leople have now witnessed the talent of Angelina. As a golden buzzer winner she now goes stright to the fina. Thanks for the reaction.
@@yogajedi3337 Lois, with all due respect, it is Angelina's mother that has always said her education comes first, and she IS in school. They have turned down every record contract offer, including Disney, and the vast majority of concert offers. She only performs on a very limited basis, and often only for charity. Her albums released are on her own private label. If anything, her family has been criticized for exactly the opposite of what you said, by fans wanting her touring the world right now. Angels have nothing to do with Angelina's future. It's completely in the hands of her human guardians (mom/dad or any legal caregivers). She was doing just fine under the radar. i.e. homeland concerts, festivals, Norway TV, UA-cam etc.. Now the mistreatment has begun. I suspect Angelina's outstanding AGT performance shocked the managers of their currently contracted talent so much when AGT producers realized they couldn't squeeze a contract out of mom, attempted to hide or limit any further exposure to America. When I read that she had sung Bohemian Rhapsody my immediate reaction was why, why would she choose that song? It’s loud, brush and in your face. Now I get it. It has become an Angelina song.

Wow, with all my postings here today, and all my yaking, I forgot to thank Eddie for a tremendous reaction to Angelina on Champions. Compared to so many other reactors with their phony, balony reactions, shouting all through the performance with their fake responses in complete disrespect to Angelina, it was a pleasure to listen to Eddie, and even though I didn't agree with a few small points, it was nice as always to get his opinion.
I've been following Angelina for several years now, and I am always amazed at her talent and her voice. Not just as a 13 year old either. As a person, she is so much further ahead of many that are twice her age or more. The other thing I absolutely love, is the music in the background, is an accompaniment to her voice, and not something that drowns out her voice to hide flaws. Whatever the future holds for this young lady, I hope that no one is able to change her to fit what THEY think she should be. She is Angelina Jordan, and she is already a star.
I was stunned, speechless, and overwhelmed! What a magnificent performance! We, as fans, have known this talent for years, but now the rest of the world does too. This is going to be Angelina's year. We know her parents want her education first, and have turned down numerous contract and appearance offers, and it's going to be that much harder to do this year after this AGT Champions exposure. I'm confident they will continue to do what's best for Angelina though. It was great to see Grandma, Mama, sister Juliette, and uncle so overjoyed with her performance and the Golden Buzzer. I told someone that I felt like I was on a drunken binge that night after watching it 20 or 30 times, and had probably overstated what I thought of the performance. So, I watched it again next morning. Nope, I was blown away again! As the young judge on Norway's Got Talent said several times, "Angelina, I have no words."

I agree i watched that performance over and over all on Monday night all the rest of this week And every time I listen I still get goosebumps. Like the first time I heard her sing Billie Holliday at seven years old. She already is a star
Thank you Eddie. She goes straight to the finals. The big deal about all of this is more exposure. She wants to sing for the whole world and this will help her get there. Two, three months from now she releases an album of originals so this will help in what will be a very big year for her.
Thank for your comments Eddie and you're right she was quite well established after Norway's Got Talent and everyone got to see her on the internet. All of her fans hail from around the world and we are so proud of her, small aside when she was being watched onstage by the other competitors I could hear them almost thinking loudly "we're up the creek without a paddle" once she had reached out and took control of the whole show and set the gold standard for performances.
Some important considerations; Angelina has been great since she put her lips to a mike at a very tender age. She made me cry, not the first time. I caught up to her 3 years ago. She and Grace are both remarkable girls yet different, like apples and oranges, both good for the soul. We are both blessed to know them. A good thing in Angelina's case is she also will be known and appreciated by more folks. She was a star but this was an elevated event for her. I stated many times before that Angelina wasn't doing this as a win/lose proposition. It's a pr move on her part in order to promote her upcoming album release. Of course a win would be a great notch in her belt, and she'd love to get it, but more important than that was the exposure and the greater name recognition that comes with it. Now, when the album comes out, it'll be: "Hey, Angelina Jordan - I remember her!", instead of "Angelina Jordan - who's that?". That's money in the bank, right there. But enough about motivations - on to her performance. In my opinion, this was one of the most daring, bold and innovative things I've ever seen anyone do. To take a song so universally revered, so classic and iconic, and change it up so dramatically, and then to present it to the world on such a big stage takes a combination of bravado and confidence that's almost beyond my comprehension. Hurrah to Angelina for this. A genius move. She deserves not just the Golden Buzzer, but the win.
Amen, Amen, Amen! It matters not who wins. Typically talent show finalists do better career wise than winners anyway. Here, as you say, it's all about the exposure, especially with an upcoming album release. As for the performance, it was phenomenal. It was a master stroke of musical genius IMO.
@@rotorhead-fy7nc Hear, hear! A good case in point is Charlotte and Jonathon on Britain's Got Talent. They lost to a dog!, but then went on to a stellar run of successful albums before going their separate ways. Charlotte now appears on the musical theater stage and continues to put out albums or her own, while Jonathon Antoine is considered one of the top operatic tenors in the world. If you haven't had the pleasure yet, be sure to check them out. Their opening audition on that show is one of the finest you'll ever see. There's also a nice BBC documentary following their careers after the show that is well worth watching. Thank you for the wonderful reply.

I agree with a lot of what you said. It is true that she would have been just fine without this show. I think they try to play up how important they are. In fact, in the case of Angelina I think they knew beforehand that she is going to be a legend, and now they will try to say they played role in "discovering" her. She was already discovered by many, and she was already destined for greatness. I believe that Angelina went onto a show that is used to taking advantage of young talent and flipped the script on them..... I have a feeling that this time it was the Barefoot Angel that was taking advantage of AGT ;) ....a move that is so in line with the genius she is always demonstrating. Be on the lookout for another album from her soon :)
I think your assessment is right on, Rusty. Angelina has purposely avoided talent shows since NGT and had said they were through with them. But this seems to be a strategic move now that she is a teenager. She's ready to release an album of originals and is using this show as a springboard to the next phase of her career. And although she always adapts her covers to suit her jazz orientation, she really went the extra mile on this one. And a bold move it was! To take a monster, classic rock song and turn it on its head into a classy jazz ballad is genius. Risky, for sure, but boy did she pull it off!
@@truthbetold7444 I was especially interested in Simon's reaction. If you watch any season of AGT or Champions, Simon always turns his view away from every singer who gets his attention, with his finger near his ear, intently listening without visual distraction. I think Angelina's performance, from the very first note, riveted his attention based on the stare and look on his face throughout. I don't think he could look away, he was that captivated. Just somethin that caught my attention, and MHO, as usual.
Is there a possibility that she'll win though? Idc about her winning, except if that is what she wants. I don't want to believe that Angelina will (or already have) sign with these guys, but I can't imagine they'll risk letting someone win without having secured a contract first either!? If both is true, then she won't win of course. I hope I'm wrong and there are no binding contracts until after the final, do you know? Maybe she's already calculated this, as you say, or are willing to suffer otherwise poor contracts in order to work and learn from certain people. If it were anyone else I cared about, I'ld be terrified. AJ seems to have better judgement than virtually anyone I know of (myself included), so I'm relatively calm, but she's only 13 and her parents aren't that experienced either. We can't expect them to make the right calls every time. I still would so much love to see her stay independent. I think she could realize her potential best that way, in the long run.
I do not believe for a second that they never heard of her before. Especialy not Simon. They invited her to the show, and I am pretty sure he knows very well about her.
Even on the regular AGT shows (not Champions) the producers "invite" the vast majority of those you see not get buzzed off. Producers scour UA-cam for international acts to invite, usually with no "in person" audition required. Those invited normally have a lot of talent show and/or professional experience already.

I agree with you about what Howie Mandel said and it bothered me very much: this performance will not change her life, will not change her, will not change her career's direction. She will continue on her path as a musical genius and a global superstar. However, she will gain new fans in America and around the world. Mt Everest was the tallest mountain on Earth before it was discovered. Knowing or not knowing about it has no effect on that fact.

Eddie, thanks for another really thoughtful reaction. It seemed half of it was a reaction to the show itself. For instance, Howie's trite declaration about how the show would change AJ's life, etc. was so formulaic and meaningless. I, too, took notice of the careful wording Simon used in his response. He must know something about her. I really think he is thoughtful, respectful, and seeing the potential in Angelina. As for Angelina's performance, when I first found out she was going to do Bohemian Rhapsody, I was puzzled. Why risk Angelinaizing such an iconic piece and alienating a bunch of fanatic Freddy fans? I need not have worried, of course. She's a genius on so many levels, she could make gold out of lead. Also, I don't think she was unduly awed by the circumstances she faced. She spent almost a year preparing for it and her experience, self-confidence and her nature was very much in evidence. Those who aren't familiar with her might see her bearing and her performance as exceptional, and within their own version of "reality" it might be so, but to the rest of us, this is what we see daily as we refresh ourselves from the contents of her channel. Well said. I, like many here, have seen everything Angelina has posted on UA-cam and Instagram. I cannot recall a single time I noticed any "nerves" on Angelina's part at any age. From her confident "YES!" and thumbs up in the recording both at age 6, or her thumbs up to start the music for "Gloomy Sunday" on NGT, to her performance for Pulitzer winners, Quincy Jones, and so many other public performances. Just supreme confidence. That was very evident Monday night, and to me it really stood out.
Simon knew about her. He invited her for the first Champions last year & she turned it down. This year she is getting ready to break out with a new album soon, so when he asked again, she accepted. Now this performance has gone viral & new reactors are coming out of the woodwork. It's brilliant. She goes straight to the finals next month.
Except for personal satisfaction, winning this really means little career wise. A little cash, some bragging rights, but nothing that will affect her career at all. All that Angelina needs from this, if anything, is exposure to the world more than just UA-cam. She's getting it, and prior to an album drop soon, it's a huge boost IMO. As she said after her performance, she's been "successful" but she's still looking for that "big break" in America. If mom was busy turning down offers before, and she was, she's going to be super busy now. But They moved to L.A. for a reason, so I think that perhaps mama will loosen the reins just a bit, because Angelina deserves it for over a decade worth of perfecting her craft to reach a level unheard of at age 14, BTW, TODAY! I should be remembered that AGT, and all of these type shows, are reality shows FIRST, where producers go way overboard in making everything a "story." Simon is the executive in charge of all of the "Got Talent" shows worldwide, but I don't think he is directly hands on every time, everywhere. Did he know Angelina won NGT in 2014, likely so. But has he seen any videos of her lately? Maybe not. It really doesn't matter in the long run. On the regular AGT some voters vote for talent, others vote for "story," and some for both. We must realize that these acts on AGT are mostly "invited" to appear by producers scouring UA-cam for talent, and of course Champions invites former Got Talent winners and finalists. I thought Monday night's panel, and audience were coached to react as they did for everyone, but in all honesty I don't think they needed to be coached for Angelina's performance. The silence and awe were deafening. Angelina brought that show back to what it should be, a true talent show, no story required. Just MHO. Oh, and don't forget 8 million people saw Angelina perform in one night, and over 4M UA-cam views so far. With an album coming out very soon, that's a huge boost!

Israeli Guy, you are spot on. Angelina is destined to be a superstar. I only hope she has representation that will have her best interests at heart and not be in it just for the money. I have never been a fan of the vocal "gymnastics" that so many singers try to do and fail at miserably. Being a former music teacher and jazz musician (old school), I compare everyone to Ella Fitzgerald when it comes to the musicality of vocal embellishments. Of pop singers, Donnie Hathaway, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and a few others are some who I feel got it right. While it is early, Angelina will certainly be a part of that group, too. On another note, I have viewed everything Angelina has on UA-cam. I am concerned that she is being over-sexualized. She's 14 years old, for God's sake. Let her be a teenager and allow her to grow into the megastar she was born to be. Shalom!
It's a case to case basis I think...with this Got Talents show being credited as the one who helps the artists progress. Most artists they need this kind of show to launch their respective careers. And there's these few artists who actually needed by the show to make these Got Talent show look good. And Angelina is one artist who really badly needed by the show. She brings true talent to the show and she's already a star in her own. She will still go places even without joining this AGT... AGT will just speed up her a little. Angelina is like a beautiful decoration everybody wanted. And AGT is no exception with that.
I find your reaction videos a bit long but since you don't sound and look like a hyperactive DJ, it makes it easier and fun to watch. Too many well meaning guys out there attempt to stimulate us with loud talk and gestures. Thank you for acting-reacting like a normal person!
Great reaction, Eddie, as always. Although I completely disagree with your analysis of her "The Show Must Go On" performance. For me, that was one of her best. And then she did this! And WOW! WOW! WOW! This performance defies explanation. I believe you are totally correct about her career not needing this show. But this stellar performance and the exposure from this worldwide show, will hasten the progression of her rise to fame. It's being talked about around the world, and it already has almost 5M views on just one You Tube source. And Queen (yes the band) has given her a WOW! on Twitter. So as I have said in other comments, a big part of me hopes that she does not win this show. Winning comes with strings/contracts that are usually not in the best interest of the performer. And if I'm a young performer (but I'm an old man who has the benefit of 20/20 hide sight) I would want no part of a contract with the Simon Cowell music business. She will release her new independently produced album, which I believe is all originals, very soon; maybe before she appears in the finals on February 10th. She has the incredible publicity from this performance to give this album a terrific sendoff. So for me, I hope she puts this show in her rear view mirror as soon as possible. She will not appear again until the finals are aired on February 10th. And as I stated above, I hope that she doesn't win so that she can put this show in her rear view mirror. You make many good points, like arranging being an artform not less important than singing & songwriting. It was fun to see your minimized comments: a chuckle to note her first embellishment, a nod to note the audience joining in with their phone lights. Yes we know their surprise is often an act, but I accept it as poetic license. This is showbusiness and they are desperately trying to build a venue where major talents come to boost their careers, especially ones that are totally new (Grace) or new to many of their viewers (Angelina). Not to get ahead, but I can't imagine an artist with an album about to drop that wouldn't want to perform before 8 million people just prior to that. It's just icing on the cake.

Oh, they know her allright. She have got several offers from big companies with good contracts. They have all been turned down. Her parents want to protect her until she is a little older.
I think she participated in AGT: The Champions for exposure, not to get offers or contracts. We, her fans, have known her since she was 7 and know that she's fantastic. Her family prioritizes her education and her enjoying her childhood and not making her a business capital.

I agree with you Eddy, she has already been a star the Judges statements are annoying. I'm from the USA, and thanks to UA-cam I have heard real talent, not manufactured.
As an American and putting aside that Americans are quite full of themselves, I agree, you must know that this performance has been seen all over the world in the last couple of days. This performance has moved her up to the next level over just being seen on youtube. I have wondered for a long time why she has not put out albums of some of the songs we hear on UA-cam. Now perhaps that will happen. I would be surprised if she doesn't have a recording contract, probably with Simon, the day after the finale of this show.
Angelina has an LP with 16 songs (14 covers and 2 originals), a Christmas EP with 3 songs, and numerous singles. AGT and especially AGT Champions are seen in far more countries besides the U.S. on local TV or by online streaming services or satellite. Angelina is Angelina and she would make it anywhere just off her voice with the talent she has. AGT the champions just may speed it up a little bit. I also agree that her versions of songs in many cases are better than the original. Cream always rises to the top, so do prodigies! 👍
Angelina is a prodigy and one of the world's best singers, but she is also a child. Or perhaps I should say she _was_ a child. I'm not Jewish, but perhaps this performance was somewhat akin to your ceremony of _bat mitzvah_. All these years she has been honing her craft, paying her dues, and now she's ready. Something that has not received enough attention is Angelina's faithfulness to the meaning of the lyrics. The song is about a dying person, in pain, who cries out like Job, that maybe it would have been better if he was never born. I've seen a criticism that the intense high note was not melodic enough. Well of course not--it's a primal scream. And then it's all resolved by acceptance--nothing really matters. Amazing that a person so young can understand all that.
While I agree that she was doing well before AGT and would easily "make it" without appearing on AGT, I have to agree with Howie as well. That performance probably added an extra million sales to her new album. Like them or not, the AGT franchise DOES do amazing things for a performers career. If not, why would anyone bother appearing on the champions version? There is NO prize money.

Most of the time they are waiting in the wings before they run on stage. Angelina's grandmother, mother, sister Juliette, and uncle were busy raving wildly in the audience. Probably couldn't get on stage fast enough.
Israeli guy, I respectfully have to disagree with you about exposure in America. I do agree that Angelina has made a name for herself locally to Norway and the Scandinavian countries. But very few in America know who she is and this is a very huge Market. Angelina has stated herself that she would like to be an international star. All She required was quality exposure in the US in order to gain millions of fans and perhaps the support of major record labels. She has loved Simon for 10 years and was waiting for a chance to perform in front of him. She got her chance and he loved it. He has signed several phenomenal singers from his shows and it could happen here too. I agree that this performance could change her life even if she does not win the competition. Reality disagree with your description of Angelinas exposure. Fact is that she had an world wide audience (not just Scandinavia as you claim). The exception was US. She has been on tv in many countries around the world - as far away as Singapor and Japan. She was singing on a stage in front of 40000 people in South Korea. She could easily fill an arena in Brazil or Germany. There were reaction channels spread around the world that followed Angelina - including this one from Israel. I have monitored what has come up of new reactors to Angelina - after her performance on AGT. The answer is not what you like to believe. There are very few new international reactors - I have seen a british and a canadian. Almost all new reactors are US based. So USA is not "the world". The vast majority of the worlds population (nearly 96%) don't sit and look at US tv. So reality is that when something is on tv in the US......it reaches people in the US and maybe some to the english speaking world. For sure would her appearance on AGT give exposure to a new - and a large - audience in the US. Which is nothing bad for Angelina. But don't make that into some international story.... Reality - whether you like it not - was that Angelina already was an international star. She had over 1 billion views on facebook and over 300 million views on YT. So really she would do just fine without AGT.....

Champions is not the same as the regular AGT. Golden Buzzer just means she doesn't need the designated voters (there are 50 "Superfans", one from each state) or judges to select her to move to the finals, it's now automatic she does. Each week four acts are selected to move to the finals, 1 by Golden buzzer and 2 by the designated voters (SuperFans), and 1 by the judges. In the finals, only the SuperFans have a vote.
Yes, a voting sample of 50? How exactly are they chosen. Hardly representative, and she cant choose specifically what song to sing in the final. I bet the one chosen for her will let her down.

Angelina Jordan has stronger abilities to sing well. She pick up things faster, know how to use her resonance and all the things that makes a good singer. That doesn't mean she don't need a vocal coach to help her improve or master some kind of vocal gesture. ... That's what we call talent. Singers are born with ability. Talent is subjective. Singers have to have a pleasant sounding voice, and for the most part, that comes from genetics and how their DNA constructed their vocal structures. They have to have an ear to be able to detect pitch, and the ability to match and harmonize with that pitch. Angelina Jordan growing up in a musical environment strongly influences her singing so well and confidently.

Eddie, about your comment on how Americans have this attitude of superiority regarding one's appearance on AGT. Even though I am not an American, I believe AGT is the biggest stage in the world. Any contestant wanting global exposure would choose that venue over all others. Can you name a bigger "stage"? Granted, "I Am Singer" from China would probably garner more viewers, but only from Asia and not world-wide. AGT may not generate as high numbers, but it has a much broader audience. So, if you were a performer who wanted a career boost, which stage would you choose?
She goes to the finals, skips the semi-final round. As far as the judges knowing the acts and having seen them before: this is the Champions show and many of them have been on AGT before as well as from other GTs from around the world. I have heard a few judges comment that they occasionally watch a few past performances of the acts that they have never seen before. It is only fair as they actually are familiar with the ones that have been on the regular shows they have judged in the past so they have a larger sample size to judge them by. In fact in this very show a contestant was advanced over others more deserving by their performance because of Howie's (the tie breaker vote) familiarity with his past performances, despite him being sub-par that night.

@@rotorhead-fy7nc Yeah that is because they watch the performances in a sequestered room at the location and they likely don't want to fly the people in and pay for hotels. I also heard that it isn't always the same people. So one week it is one cohort and then the next week it could be either new people mixed in, or a completely new group altogether. They really need to fix that and make it a true fan vote. I have no idea why they are doing it this way. It just builds a barrier between the fans and the show.

Angels have nothing to do with Angelina's future. It's completely in the hands of her human guardians (mom/dad or any legal caregivers). She was doing just fine under the radar. i.e. homeland concerts, festivals, Norway TV, UA-cam etc.. Now the mistreatment has begun.
I suspect Angelina's outstanding AGT performance shocked the managers of their currently contracted talent so much when AGT producers realized they couldn't squeeze a contract out of mom, attempted to hide or limit any further
exposure to America. Just mho.

Wow, with all my postings here today, and all my yaking, I forgot to thank Eddie for a tremendous reaction to Angelina on Champions. Compared to so many other reactors with their phony, balony reactions, shouting all through the performance with their fake responses in complete disrespect to Angelina, it was a pleasure to listen to Eddie, and even though I didn't agree with a few small points, it was nice as always to get his opinion.

I've been following Angelina for several years now, and I am always amazed at her talent and her voice. Not just as a 13 year old either. As a person, she is so much further ahead of many that are twice her age or more. The other thing I absolutely love, is the music in the background, is an accompaniment to her voice, and not something that drowns out her voice to hide flaws. Whatever the future holds for this young lady, I hope that no one is able to change her to fit what THEY think she should be. She is Angelina Jordan, and she is already a star.
I was stunned, speechless, and overwhelmed! What a magnificent performance! We, as fans, have known this talent for years, but now the rest of the world does too. This is going to be Angelina's year. We know her parents want her education first, and have turned down numerous contract and appearance offers, and it's going to be that much harder to do this year after this AGT Champions exposure. I'm confident they will continue to do what's best for Angelina though. It was great to see Grandma, Mama, sister Juliette, and uncle so overjoyed with her performance and the Golden Buzzer. I told someone that I felt like I was on a drunken binge that night after watching it 20 or 30 times, and had probably overstated what I thought of the performance. So, I watched it again next morning. Nope, I was blown away again! As the young judge on Norway's Got Talent said several times, "Angelina, I have no words."

Thank you Eddie. She goes straight to the finals. The big deal about all of this is more exposure. She wants to sing for the whole world and this will help her get there. Two, three months from now she releases an album of originals so this will help in what will be a very big year for her.
Thank for your comments Eddie and you're right she was quite well established after Norway's Got Talent and everyone got to see her on the internet. All of her fans hail from around the world and we are so proud of her, small aside when she was being watched onstage by the other competitors I could hear them almost thinking loudly "we're up the creek without a paddle" once she had reached out and took control of the whole show and set the gold standard for performances.
Some important considerations; Angelina has been great since she put her lips to a mike at a very tender age. She made me cry, not the first time. I caught up to her 3 years ago. She and Grace are both remarkable girls yet different, like apples and oranges, both good for the soul. We are both blessed to know them. A good thing in Angelina's case is she also will be known and appreciated by more folks. She was a star but this was an elevated event for her. I stated many times before that Angelina wasn't doing this as a win/lose proposition. It's a pr move on her part in order to promote her upcoming album release. Of course a win would be a great notch in her belt, and she'd love to get it, but more important than that was the exposure and the greater name recognition that comes with it. Now, when the album comes out, it'll be: "Hey, Angelina Jordan - I remember her!", instead of "Angelina Jordan - who's that?". That's money in the bank, right there.
But enough about motivations - on to her performance. In my opinion, this was one of the most daring, bold and innovative things I've ever seen anyone do. To take a song so universally revered, so classic and iconic, and change it up so dramatically, and then to present it to the world on such a big stage takes a combination of bravado and confidence that's almost beyond my comprehension. Hurrah to Angelina for this. A genius move. She deserves not just the Golden Buzzer, but the win.
Amen, Amen, Amen! It matters not who wins. Typically talent show finalists do better career wise than winners anyway. Here, as you say, it's all about the exposure, especially with an upcoming album release. As for the performance, it was phenomenal. It was a master stroke of musical genius IMO.

They lost to a dog!, but then went on to a stellar run of successful albums before going their separate ways. Charlotte now appears on the musical theater stage and continues to put out albums or her own, while Jonathon Antoine is considered one of the top operatic tenors in the world. If you haven't had the pleasure yet, be sure to check them out. Their opening audition on that show is one of the finest you'll ever see. I agree with a lot of what you said. It is true that she would have been just fine without this show. I think they try to play up how important they are. In fact, in the case of Angelina I think they knew beforehand that she is going to be a legend, and now they will try to say they played role in "discovering" her. She was already discovered by many, and she was already destined for greatness. I believe that Angelina went onto a show that is used to taking advantage of young talent and flipped the script on them..... I have a feeling that this time it was the Barefoot Angel that was taking advantage of AGT ;) ....a move that is so in line with the genius she is always demonstrating. Be on the lookout for another album from her soon :)

I think your assessment is right on, Rusty. Angelina has purposely avoided talent shows since NGT and had said they were through with them. But this seems to be a strategic move now that she is a teenager. She's ready to release an album of originals and is using this show as a springboard to the next phase of her career. And although she always adapts her covers to suit her jazz orientation, she really went the extra mile on this one. And a bold move it was! To take a monster, classic rock song and turn it on its head into a classy jazz ballad is genius. Risky, for sure, but boy did she pull it off!

If you watch any season of AGT or Champions, Simon always turns his view away from every singer who gets his attention, with his finger near his ear, intently listening without visual distraction. I think Angelina's performance, from the very first note, riveted his attention based on the stare and look on his face throughout. I don't think he could look away, he was that captivated. Just somethin that caught my attention, and MHO, as usual.

Is there a possibility that she'll win though? Idc about her winning, except if that is what she wants. I don't want to believe that Angelina will (or already have) sign with these guys, but I can't imagine they'll risk letting someone win without having secured a contract first either!? If both is true, then she won't win of course. I hope I'm wrong and there are no binding contracts until after the final, do you know?
Maybe she's already calculated this, as you say, or are willing to suffer otherwise poor contracts in order to work and learn from certain people. If it were anyone else I cared about, I'ld be terrified. AJ seems to have better judgement than virtually anyone I know of (myself included), so I'm relatively calm, but she's only 13 and her parents aren't that experienced either. We can't expect them to make the right calls every time. I still would so much love to see her stay independent. I think she could realize her potential best that way, in the long run.
I do not believe for a second that they never heard of her before. Especialy not Simon. They invited her to the show, and I am pretty sure he knows very well about her.
Even on the regular AGT shows (not Champions) the producers "invite" the vast majority of those you see not get buzzed off. Producers scour UA-cam for international acts to invite, usually with no "in person" audition required. Those invited normally have a lot of talent show and/or professional experience already.

Eddie, thanks for another really thoughtful reaction. It seemed half of it was a reaction to the show itself. For instance, Howie's trite declaration about how the show would change AJ's life, etc. was so formulaic and meaningless. I, too, took notice of the careful wording Simon used in his response. He must know something about her. I really think he is thoughtful, respectful, and seeing the potential in Angelina. As for Angelina's performance, when I first found out she was going to do Bohemian Rhapsody, I was puzzled. Why risk Angelinaizing such an iconic piece and alienating a bunch of fanatic Freddy fans? I need not have worried, of course. She's a genius on so many levels, she could make gold out of lead. Also, I don't think she was unduly awed by the circumstances she faced. She spent almost a year preparing for it and her experience, self-confidence and her nature was very much in evidence. Those who aren't familiar with her might see her bearing and her performance as exceptional, and within their own version of "reality" it might be so, but to the rest of us, this is what we see daily as we refresh ourselves from the contents of her channel. Well said. I, like many here, have seen everything Angelina has posted on UA-cam and Instagram. I cannot recall a single time I noticed any "nerves" on Angelina's part at any age. From her confident "YES!" and thumbs up in the recording both at age 6, or her thumbs up to start the music for "Gloomy Sunday" on NGT, to her performance for Pulitzer winners, Quincy Jones, and so many other public performances. Just supreme confidence. That was very evident Monday night, and to me it really stood out.
Simon knew about her. He invited her for the first Champions last year & she turned it down. This year she is getting ready to break out with a new album soon, so when he asked again, she accepted. Now this performance has gone viral & new reactors are coming out of the woodwork. It's brilliant. She goes straight to the finals next month.
Except for personal satisfaction, winning this really means little career wise. A little cash, some bragging rights, but nothing that will affect her career at all. All that Angelina needs from this, if anything, is exposure to the world more than just UA-cam. She's getting it, and prior to an album drop soon, it's a huge boost IMO. As she said after her performance, she's been "successful" but she's still looking for that "big break" in America. If mom was busy turning down offers before, and she was, she's going to be super busy now. But They moved to L.A. for a reason, so I think that perhaps mama will loosen the reins just a bit, because Angelina deserves it for over a decade worth of perfecting her craft to reach a level unheard of at age 14, BTW, TODAY! I should be remembered that AGT, and all of these type shows, are reality shows FIRST, where producers go way overboard in making everything a "story." Simon is the executive in charge of all of the "Got Talent" shows worldwide, but I don't think he is directly hands on every time, everywhere. Did he know Angelina won NGT in 2014, likely so. But has he seen any videos of her lately? Maybe not. It really doesn't matter in the long run. On the regular AGT some voters vote for talent, others vote for "story," and some for both. We must realize that these acts on AGT are mostly "invited" to appear by producers scouring UA-cam for talent, and of course Champions invites former Got Talent winners and finalists. I thought Monday night's panel, and audience were coached to react as they did for everyone, but in all honesty I don't think they needed to be coached for Angelina's performance. The silence and awe were deafening. Angelina brought that show back to what it should be, a true talent show, no story required. Just MHO. Oh, and don't forget 8 million people saw Angelina perform in one night, and over 4M UA-cam views so far. With an album coming out very soon, that's a huge boost!

Israeli Guy, you are spot on. Angelina is destined to be a superstar. I only hope she has representation that will have her best interests at heart and not be in it just for the money. I have never been a fan of the vocal "gymnastics" that so many singers try to do and fail at miserably. Being a former music teacher and jazz musician (old school), I compare everyone to Ella Fitzgerald when it comes to the musicality of vocal embellishments. Of pop singers, Donnie Hathaway, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and a few others are some who I feel got it right. While it is early, Angelina will certainly be a part of that group, too. On another note, I have viewed everything Angelina has on UA-cam. I am concerned that she is being over-sexualized. She's 14 years old, for God's sake. Let her be a teenager and allow her to grow into the megastar she was born to be. Shalom!

It's a case to case basis I think...with this Got Talents show being credited as the one who helps the artists progress. Most artists they need this kind of show to launch their respective careers. And there's these few artists who actually needed by the show to make these Got Talent show look good. And Angelina is one artist who really badly needed by the show. She brings true talent to the show and she's already a star in her own. She will still go places even without joining this AGT... AGT will just speed up her a little. Angelina is like a beautiful decoration everybody wanted. And AGT is no exception with that.

Great reaction, Eddie, as always. Although I completely disagree with your analysis of her "The Show Must Go On" performance. For me, that was one of her best. And then she did this! And WOW! WOW! WOW! This performance defies explanation. I believe you are totally correct about her career not needing this show. But this stellar performance and the exposure from this worldwide show, will hasten the progression of her rise to fame. It's being talked about around the world, and it already has almost 5M views on just one You Tube source. And Queen (yes the band) has given her a WOW! on Twitter. So as I have said in other comments, a big part of me hopes that she does not win this show. Winning comes with strings/contracts that are usually not in the best interest of the performer. And if I'm a young performer (but I'm an old man who has the benefit of 20/20 hide sight) I would want no part of a contract with the Simon Cowell music business. She will release her new independently produced album, which I believe is all originals, very soon; maybe before she appears in the finals on February 10th. She has the incredible publicity from this performance to give this album a terrific sendoff. So for me, I hope she puts this show in her rear view mirror as soon as possible. She will not appear again until the finals are aired on February 10th. And as I stated above, I hope that she doesn't win so that she can put this show in her rear view mirror. You make many good points, like arranging being an artform not less important than singing & songwriting. It was fun to see your minimized comments: a chuckle to note her first embellishment, a nod to note the audience joining in with their phone lights. Yes we know their surprise is often an act, but I accept it as poetic license. This is showbusiness and they are desperately trying to build a venue where major talents come to boost their careers, especially ones that are totally new (Grace) or new to many of their viewers (Angelina). I think she participated in AGT: The Champions for exposure, not to get offers or contracts. We, her fans, have known her since she was 7 and know that she's fantastic. Her family prioritizes her education and her enjoying her childhood and not making her a business capital.
For shure this was no birth. Rather the confirmation of a true and great talent, that is ment for this world. Angelina choosed to take part, and she will be in charge for what`s her next steps will be, I belive. Great reaction. So true in your coments to this.

I have never been interested in the jazz music genre , but Angelina's interpretations of old jazz music classics has "opened my eyes" for that kind of music for sure, and in a way "touched me".

I agree with you Eddy, she has already been a star the Judges statements are annoying. I'm from the USA, and thanks to UA-cam I have heard real talent, not manufactured.
As an American and putting aside that Americans are quite full of themselves, I agree, you must know that this performance has been seen all over the world in the last couple of days. This performance has moved her up to the next level over just being seen on youtube. I have wondered for a long time why she has not put out albums of some of the songs we hear on UA-cam. Now perhaps that will happen. I would be surprised if she doesn't have a recording contract, probably with Simon, the day after the finale of this show.
Angelina has an LP with 16 songs (14 covers and 2 originals), a Christmas EP with 3 songs, and numerous singles. The reality is that people internationally already knew about Angelina - and therefor looked up a clip from AGT.

@@xpost9381 This is not AGT. It is AGT - The Champions featuring winners, or finalists from the 68 worldwide "Got Talent" franchises. AGT and especially AGT Champions are seen in far more countries besides the U.S. on local TV or by online streaming services or satellite. Comment sections are filled with comments about folks having to stay up late or get up early to watch. That was my point about "exposure to the world more than just UA-cam." I never said, "AGT have brought Angelina to "the world". And I might disagree about how Angelina became known outside of Scandanavia. IMO People outside of that region found out about Angelina on UA-cam just like Americans did, not on their local TV.

Angelina is a prodigy and one of the world's best singers, but she is also a child. Or perhaps I should say she _was_ a child. I'm not Jewish, but perhaps this performance was somewhat akin to your ceremony of _bat mitzvah_. All these years she has been honing her craft, paying her dues, and now she's ready.
Something that has not received enough attention is Angelina's faithfulness to the meaning of the lyrics. The song is about a dying person, in pain, who cries out like Job, that maybe it would have been better if he was never born. I've seen a criticism that the intense high note was not melodic enough. Well of course not--it's a primal scream.
And then it's all resolved by acceptance--nothing really matters. Amazing that a person so young can understand all that.

While I agree that she was doing well before AGT and would easily "make it" without appearing on AGT, I have to agree with Howie as well. That performance probably added an extra million sales to her new album. Like them or not, the AGT franchise DOES do amazing things for a performers career. If not, why would anyone bother appearing on the champions version? There is NO prize money.

Most of the time they are waiting in the wings before they run on stage. Angelina's grandmother, mother, sister Juliette, and uncle were busy raving wildly in the audience. Probably couldn't get on stage fast enough.

Israeli guy, I respectfully have to disagree with you about exposure in America. I do agree that Angelina has made a name for herself locally to Norway and the Scandinavian countries. But very few in America know who she is and this is a very huge Market. Angelina has stated herself that she would like to be an international star. All She required was quality exposure in the US in order to gain millions of fans and perhaps the support of major record labels. She has loved Simon for 10 years and was waiting for a chance to perform in front of him. She got her chance and he loved it. He has signed several phenomenal singers from his shows and it could happen here too. I agree that this performance could change her life even if she does not win the competition. She has already won!
Reality disagree with your description of Angelinas exposure. Fact is that she had an world wide audience (not just Scandinavia as you claim). The exception was US.
She has been on tv in many countries around the world - as far away as Singapor and Japan. She was singing on a stage in front of 40000 people in South Korea. She could easily fill an arena in Brazil or Germany. There were reaction channels spread around the world that followed Angelina - including this one from Israel.
I have monitored what has come up of new reactors to Angelina - after her performance on AGT. The answer is not what you like to believe. There are very few new international reactors - I have seen a british and a canadian.
Almost all new reactors are US based. So USA is not "the world". The vast majority of the worlds population (nearly 96%) don't sit and look at US tv.
So reality is that when something is on tv in the US......it reaches people in the US and maybe some to the english speaking world.
For sure would her appearance on AGT give exposure to a new - and a large - audience in the US.
Which is nothing bad for Angelina.

Yes, thank you . Us Americans are self centered. I have been her fan for many years. Since she was 7. Always a star. Doesn't need America's approval. But it may give a big boost to her career. Talent is talent. Morrisette Amon is another good example of talent not well know here in US.
Yes, Angelina does not need America's seal of approval, but in her own words said, "I've had a lot of success, but I'm still waiting for that big moment in America." AGT Champions may be just that. After all, the family moved to L.A. for a reason. BTW, it's not just us Americans that are self centered. I'll cede that we Americans may be more vocal about it, but it is the general rule for nearly every developed country. I have never been to another first world country where the general population didn't have the opinion that they lived in the greatest country on Earth, and everything they had or did in that country wasn't the finest. Champions is not the same as the regular AGT. Golden Buzzer just means she doesn't need the designated voters (there are 50 "Superfans", one from each state) or judges to select her to move to the finals, it's now automatic she does. Each week four acts are selected to move to the finals, 1 by Golden buzzer and 2 by the designated voters (SuperFans), and 1 by the judges. In the finals, only the SuperFans have a vote.
Yes, a voting sample of 50? How exactly are they chosen. Hardly representative, and she cant choose specifically what song to sing in the final. I bet the one chosen for her will let her down.

Appreciate your opinion... But this is different with other AGT. This is AGT Champions. AGT with higher level. So, in my opinion, Angelina better takes this chance to participate.
Angelina Jordan has stronger abilities to sing well. She pick up things
faster, know how to use her resonance and all the things that makes a
good singer. That doesn't mean she don't need a vocal coach to help her
improve or master some kind of vocal gesture. ... That's what we call
talent. Singers are born with ability. Talent is subjective. Singers
have to have a pleasant sounding voice, and for the most part, that
comes from genetics and how their DNA constructed their vocal
structures. They have to have an ear to be able to detect pitch, and the
ability to match and harmonize with that pitch. Angelina Jordan growing
up in a musical environment strongly influences her singing so well and confidently.

Eddie, about your comment on how Americans have this attitude of superiority regarding one's appearance on AGT. Even though I am not an American, I believe AGT is the biggest stage in the world. Any contestant wanting global exposure would choose that venue over all others. Can you name a bigger "stage"? Granted, "I Am Singer" from China would probably garner more viewers, but only from Asia and not world-wide. AGT may not generate as high numbers, but it has a much broader audience. So, if you were a performer who wanted a career boost, which stage would you choose?
She goes to the finals, skips the semi-final round.
As far as the judges knowing the acts and having seen them before: this is the Champions show and many of them have been on AGT before as well as from other GTs from around the world. I have heard a few judges comment that they occasionally watch a few past performances of the acts that they have never seen before. It is only fair as they actually are familiar with the ones that have been on the regular shows they have judged in the past so they have a larger sample size to judge them by. In fact in this very show a contestant was advanced over others more deserving by their performance because of Howie's (the tie breaker vote) familiarity with his past performances, despite him being sub-par that night.

@@rotorhead-fy7nc Yeah that is because they watch the performances in a sequestered room at the location and they likely don't want to fly the people in and pay for hotels. I also heard that it isn't always the same people. So one week it is one cohort and then the next week it could be either new people mixed in, or a completely new group altogether. They really need to fix that and make it a true fan vote. I have no idea why they are doing it this way. It just builds a barrier between the fans and the show.
