Cyprus is a country that both Greek and Turkish people has lived together for years and were influced by each other's cultures. This video is a nice proof for that.
True the two communities have lived peacefully since the 17th century when the turkishcypriot community started to be a separated thing from the rest of the people, but yet traditionally and historically both communities used to dance and sing the same music in the same language the cypriot dialect of the greek language (since the majority of the turkishcypriots were speaking natively and as a first language the cypriot dialect of the greek language and not turkish) the first traditional cypriot songs that were used with turkish lyrics came after 1974 in an effort by turkey to make something like un-hellenization of the turkishcypriots and also for practical reasons because the communities were separated for years and they stopped having connections with each other and the turkishcypriots started to speak turkish as their first language instead of greek (the cypriot dialect actually) because their education was forced to be isolated learning only turkish.
Yes but the Turks in the north are not what was used to called the minority of "Turkish-Cypriots" . Since they were forced to go to Turkey after the war. The Turks on the North are Turks from South Turkey that came here just so Erdogan could have "claims" in Cyprus. (Just wanted to tell that, I don't have anythingwrong with your comment)

I am not Turkish Cypriot. I am originally a Turk from Tokat, that is, from Anatolia. I would very much like the reunification of the North and the South in Cyprus and the establishment of a bilingual state where both peoples are equally represented. 🕊

My grandgrandmother was born in Cyprus. She always told us how much she loved her Rum neighbors in Cyprus. And she missed there so much😔 That's why I love the people of Cyprus so much. (I will learn Sirtaki dance as soon as possible 🤗)

You are right: I thought, I was "pure" Armenian until ... received my DNA results. Cypriot, Anatolian, Persian (including East Azerbaijan), Levantine, Italian ancestry were present. I spent half of my life in Russia, and another half in USA knowing nothing about how similar we all are. 😍

We know that most of us are actually Turkified and Islamized Eastern Roman peoples. For this reason, the physical characteristics of Turks living in Anatolia do not resemble those of Central Asians. It looks more like Western Asia and Southern Europe.

The music is called Kipris Zeybegi by Sinan CELIK and the gaida-like instrument you heard is called "Sipsi",a wind instrument from the Taurus Mountains,the dance was also known in the foothills of Taurus in the past. Τhe vast majority of ''Turkish Cypriots ''are ex christian Cypriots and Maronites and many Latins who converted to Islam during Ottoman period. In Cyprous there are villages with christian names (f.e Agios Epfanios, Agios Ioannis) with muslim population. In the region of Pafos Turkish Cupriots spoke only in a greek Cypriot dialect. Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots have the same blood.

Turkish and greek cypriots are genetically very close, with turkish cypriots having some anatolian and turkoman admixture, and of course mainland turks who moved to Cyprus throughout the years also played a role in their genetic make up. The latin and maronite admixtures as he says are very low. But regardless, turkish cypriots are turks, it's up to them to be whatever they want, not to foreigners. They speak turkish, have turkish culture, feel turkish, voilla, they are turkish, the end. That's true for every ethnic group out there, genetics don't play a role.

Τhe vast majority of ''Turkish Cypriots ''are ex christian Cypriots and Maronites and many Latins who converted to Islam during Ottoman period. In Cyprous there are villages with christian names (f.e Agios Epfanios, Agios Ioannis) with muslim population. In the region of Pafos Turkish Cupriots spoke only in a greek Cypriot dialect. Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots have the same blood.

@@babaeren62 It's true, though not exactly as he says. Turkish and greek cypriots are genetically very close, with turkish cypriots having some anatolian and turkoman admixture, and of course mainland turks who moved to Cyprus throughout the years also played a role in their genetic make up. The latin and maronite admixtures as he says are very low.
But regardless, turkish cypriots are turks, it's up to them to be whatever they want, not to foreigners. They speak turkish, have turkish culture, feel turkish, voilla, they are turkish, the end. That's true for every ethnic group out there, genetics don't play a role.
I am a ex muslim Turkish cypriot who does acknowledge that originally most Turks were Christians until the Arabs came along and stuffed everything up. Such a blessing i received Jesus Christ as my lord and saviour, long before i found out about this historical fact. I believe God had a calling for me

Harika, youtubede gezerken denk geldim, Bravo, Türk ve Rum toplumlarını kapsayan güzel bir çalışma olmuş.. lakin en büyük eksiklik olan Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti bayrağıdır.. biliyorsunuz orda sadece Rum devleti değil , Türk devletide vardır..
Hangi antlaşma, zamanında birleşmeyi reddeden Rumlar degilmiydi? Eokacilar Türkleri katlederken dünya nerdeydi, enosisi gerçekleştirmek için Rumlar, Türkleri yok sayıyordu öyle degilmi, Türkiye garantör hakkını kullandı, sonrada dünyaya Türkler Kıbrıs'ı işgal etti yaygarasıni kopardılar.
